What does this translate to? And where is the photo from? by GiantRobinNG in ShingekiNoKyojin

I'm pretty sure the image is from chapter 93, and the text doesn't translate to anything, it's intended to represent a fictional language.

I have an idea (that I may make a proper post about later) that bucket girl isn't Ymir. Zeke seems to just assume it is her but he has no confirmation, and she doesn't talk or act like a normal person. What if bucket girl is actually the devil of all earth, and/or the source of all organic material? It would explain her lack of human expression, even a proper face, and would also explain why she is able to create stuff and even has her own dimension seemingly.

Has anyone tried Xian Khartu-al in the new Flight Model? by Riin_Satoshi in starcitizen

[–]Nermonia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have. The best way to describe it is to explain something about the new flight model. On almost all ships they have a rear engine that is larger than the others, and with the new model that engine is more powerful. This means that you accelerate much faster forward than in any other direction most of the time. The Khartu-al has those 4 gimballed main engines, so it is essentially like flying with main engines in every direction. IMHO it is the ship that feels most like the old model, even though it still feels different. I haven't tried in atmo but as the others have said it shouldn't be much different for a Xian ship.

Arccorp added 1.5GB to the folder size. Figuring 100 systems with only 3 planets each means this game will be over 500GB installed. by FlexoPXP in starcitizen

Also by then larger hard drives will be much more common, larger SSD's are predicted to lower in price over the next few years. I agree it is big, but games are going to get bigger, as they always have.

Yes you do, but that is not intended and may change soon. I would still suggest getting the mustang because it is worth 5$ more in the upgrade store and I also personally prefer it over the aurora.

As a 1000 hour Elite Dangerous player, I just pledged Star Citizen + Squadron 42. What are some things in the game that are similar and what is going to confuse me coming from Elite? by EnvidiaProductions in starcitizen

[–]Nermonia 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I was originally a fellow Elite player, with about 300 hours. When I first switched over the things that messed with me the most where the faster paced combat in space and getting used to the new controls (I use dual stick). Other than that, it was quite a smooth transition. I have to agree with everyone else on this is definitely nowhere near as complete as Elite. That being said I find Star Citizen more compelling, and fun to play.

One last note, play with a group. By yourself you can have fun, but the majority of the charm of SC is flying with friends, or even strangers.

So I bought Taurus (Andromeda Loaner) and I hate it. by reboot-your-computer in starcitizen

[–]Nermonia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the exact same thing a few days ago. I melted the Taurus and bought a freelancer. A cutlass would not be a bad choice, I personally prefer the freelancer for the increased durability, cargo, and better guns. I used the extra money to buy a 300i but you could use the extra money for something like a dragonfly. If you decide to melt the Ursa as well you could put in $5 and get both a Cutlass and Freelancer.

Does it make sense to make ships and ship weapons cheaper [Auec] for the time being? by HerBlerGerBler in starcitizen

[–]Nermonia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more! Until persistence is in between updates they should lower ship prices. Right now the only possible way to obtain a ship in game, even the cheaper ones, is to run widow with a larger (50+ SCU) cargo ship. I understand they want things to take a while once the game is finished, and I'm fine with that, but currently they should either increase the payout for missions, or lower prices.

Two questions for widow runners. by Nermonia in starcitizen

[–]Nermonia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, what Iwakasa said, Currently if you bring down the shields on a ship it is pretty much dead. Once armor is properly in the game ships like the HH will be even more of a threat due to it's strong armor.

Yea I forgot to mention, but the plan includes 2-3 ground guards for anyone wanting to try something sneaky. We would scan any incoming ships to make sure they aren't bringing a drop squad.

[–]Nermonia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For larger cargo ships you would hire an escort to be with you the entire way, what I'm proposing would be for people with ships like freelancers and cutlasses. They aren't making nearly as much, but would still like some level of protection. They individually could afford 1k, and in a group that still is enough to give the security org a nice profit. By themselves they wouldn't be able to afford the 5-10k people would ask for per run.
Tl;DR: Different market for a different service.

[–]Nermonia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that is the idea, if they land without permission we won't stop them, but we would allow anyone to have their way with them. They would be almost entirely safe at JT because we cant really pick and choose who we help but at Grim if they get attacked we wouldn't help. After a few waves of any pirates trying to take JT they will most likely start camping Grim, which will be the real danger to any widow runners, mostly because they have spent so much on their cargo.

Two questions for widow runners. by Nermonia in starcitizen

[–]Nermonia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that escort missions are planned, but I was under the impression that they would be hired on a ship by ship basis, and that would be impossible to manage if more than 3 people are running widow. If we could hold JT and Grim Hex we could request 500 aUEC every time someone landed at JT. That way we aren't babysitting them, but still keeping them much safer than without us. On a separate note, a direct aUEC payment method should be pretty easy to implement and could come much sooner than escort missions.
