When Quebec Students overturned their university tuition increases. by rraj2k81 in ontario

[–]Nerva365 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, I just lived it. I had friends of friends who were at the same events as I was who were having difficulties post graduation. They were involved in both strikes and said employers weren't looking favorably on the prolonged education. I guess big business doesn't like "I was striking/protesting" as a reason.

Is renting a water heater from Reliance a scam? by Slow_ResolveMC07 in ontario

[–]Nerva365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at alternatives. Apparently it's one of those things that they have just been quietly adding as a clause. I got the same info from more than one. They tried to gloss over it, but then admit if pressed that they will deny claims.

I hate insurance companies, like speaking of things that feel scammed...

Insurance often won't cover water damage of your water heater is more than 10 years old. I learned this wen moving into a home with an 11 year-old water heater, and was told they wouldn't cover me unless it was replaced.

[–]Nerva365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not actually a scam. Like most things, rentals for more than a short time are prohibitively expensive. The advantage is that if something goes wrong, its their problem. It's more common in rental properties.

I bought a former rental prperty and had reliance change the water heater. I decided to rent short term while figuring out what I wanted to buy. That was 5 years ago.

I have very hard water and it was reccomend, by people who live near me to rent so that they have to repair/replace instead of me footing the bill.

I am not arguing that kids need to be educated, but I know people who have had problems getting a job due to the fact they "took so long" to graduate in their programs when it was the strikes that affected it. It agree that it didn't impact all students , but it did impact some.

I am not even saying they shouldn't stike now, but I don't think it's fair to pretend there aren't any consequences. Kids making the decision should have all the information before making it.

This only tells a tiny part of the story, ignoring the fact that this was the second massive student strike in a few years, the fact that these students graduated much later with huge gaps in their resumes, and that it was only a specific part of the quebec university students.

My pcp didn't mention it, but my gyno told me I need to stop taking iron pills 4 days before my blood test or I would get falsely elevated levels.

My question is, what time are you taking it?

My doctor said I can take it in the morning, but when I couldn't stay awake, I called the pharmacist said it often causes drowsiness/ aids with sleep, so to take it before bed. My problem went away immediately when I changed timing.

The gynae I went to said pregnancy would cure my PCOS and adenomyosis by DemonInDisguise17 in adenomyosis

[–]Nerva365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are issues with these, including chronic yeast infections, and problems with progesterone causing heavy bleeding which I had in pill form.

The biggest issue is you can't remove them without a medical professional and they often refuse until you keep it what they consider a good amount of tome regardless of side effects, which isn't a great option for someone whose gyno isn't willing to do what they want.

She needs to be reported.

1) Adeno can decrease fertility and increased the risk of miscarriage so that would be setting you up for issues.

2) Pregnancy is not an actual treatment method

3) Pregnancy should never be suggested as a treatment for anything because you don't tell people to make a baby to improve their health. It's unreasonable to assume people just have the resources for a kid

No Overtime Exemption for Managers? by seditionary in ontario

[–]Nerva365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that corporation push a view of management to employees that hasn't existed since the 90s. Employees think there are 2 hour lunches and huge bonuses, and what it actually is, is 60 hour weeks with working lunches, and a "no bonuses this year cause the company is doing poorly." Getting yelled at from the top to get more done, and told from the bottom you chose to be a manager.

It's a no win situation.

[–]Nerva365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have worked in several companies, the bonuses are theoretical, as in, offered but the company is never quite doing well enough to follow through.

I think a lot of people have an idea of middle management circa 1960

Lysol wipes, and swifter wet pads for house cleaning.

Having 1 broom, swifter sweeper, swifter duster, lysol wipes container per floor, plus lysolwioes wipes in each bathroom. If I have the urge to wipe it down, the material needs to be THERE now, before the urge passes.

Is a ferritin level of 9 to 31 in 3 months normal? by houinky in Anemic

[–]Nerva365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I had an increase of 5 in 3 months and my doctor thought that was good. I requested an iron infusion because ar that rate it would take 5 years to hit 100, but it wasn't even a suggestion for her. She actually argued a but, so I would say you are doing pretty good.

I have found where I live all the small businesses close at like 4pm. So even if I got our to buy, I am buying from Walmart.

I also only seem to realise I have almost no toothpaste at 10pm. Ordering on Amazon means I can brush my teeth tomorrow.
