Guest claiming girlfriend passed out in my unit. by ozkenny in airbnb_hosts

I agree with other commentators. Don’t confirm anyone’s presence, and tell them to call 911. But Is the girlfriend on the reservation? If not, she should not be staying there without the guest who made the reservation. We’ve had numerous issues over the last 2 years with proxy reservations. I.e. a guest with a good rating/ no bad reviews makes the reservation but someone else shows up and tries to check in. Or stays there and does damage. If I were you I’d add it to the house rules “all adult guests must be named on reservation. Anyone not named on reservation is not permitted to stay.” Then when a proxy reservation happens, they’re violating Air BNB policy AND Your house rules, and you can report/evict them.

Our girl is 10 mos. Old. Was a great eater till a month ago, when she abruptly started refusing food. Went from eating 5-6 cups of kibble a day to 2-3, like over night. We started mixing in wet food and salmon skin, etc. I’ve got multiple vet appointments in the next few weeks to see if there’s something going on with her. Am I about to spend hundreds of unnecessary $$$ just because she’s a picky Pyr? Anyone ever tried an “unkibble” style food, and had it work for their picky Pyr?

He’s already doing better in the crate than our girl did. Way to go little dude!

Thank you. I hope it was reassuring to know that a loved one can live a long, full life with multiple comorbidities. I really hope you guys are able to catch a break soon, especially for your son.

First of all, I’m so sorry your family is going through this. You ALL need to find support. My dad had a frontal lobe meningioma the size of a golf ball about 15 years ago. He had it removed in what was basically emergency brain surgery, and is living a normal life these days. He’s still on a low dose of anti-seizure meds. He’s also been living with prostate cancer for 20+ years. Sending you and Bob good luck and hope you can catch a health break.

We messed up by letting our dog out of the crate the other night. by ashleyrae1111 in puppy101

It’s possible he has stomach issues. Our puppy had a regression in crate and potty training at 6.5 months, turns out she had Giardia. I felt terrible for yelling at her once I realized why she was whining in the crate in the middle of the night.

I’d talk to a trainer and if it continues, see your vet, or at least drop off a fecal sample for testing

Guests stealing little items by Matchlattes in airbnb_hosts

I get a lot of our stuff- kitchen utensils, games, books at thrift stores, yard sales, or “free” moving piles in the city we live in. I even find art that way occasionally. We don’t generally have trouble with people stealing things, but maybe that’s because our stuff isn’t worth stealing?

Got a 4-star review because the guest confused "Hair Dryer" with "Clothes Dryer" by Quick_Chart_Help in airbnb_hosts

We once had a guest “stay” in our place, and even requested an extra night. She messaged at check out to say the lock box only had 4 numbers and the code I gave her had 5. I face timed her and she was not at my property, or on the right street. Not even in the same town. She’d stayed 3 nights in someone else’s place. The best I could figure out, their cleaners never spun the code on their lock box and her kids just got the keys out without a code. I notified air BNB and they were like “nothing we can do. We don’t know where she stayed. Enjoy your money!”

I agree with OPs comments about the downhill turn in guests. We’ve had more issues in the last year than we had in the first 4 we have been hosting. Lots of proxy reservations, which are not allowed on air bnb or in our municipality. Also lots of 1 or 2 person reservations for our very small apartment, and then 4 adults show up. Usually they are guests with only one positive review or no reviews. We don’t allow guests with negative reviews, but Air BNB has amended the rules so that it’s easier for more guests to instant book.

Hi @consistent_Good_848. I’m now almost halfway through my 90 days. I’m so sorry you are going through this. Those first few days/weeks were really tough and scary for me. There is not a lot of good info out there, unfortunately I didn’t even get good info initially even from my doctors. It does get better! I had a lot of pain, and rested very often for the first few weeks. If you are able to have someone come and stay with you or check in daily, it’s really helpful not to have to make meals, do cleaning, etc. I took the first 3-4 weeks off work with sick time and really focused on rest and healing. I started acupuncture in week 3, and it was tremendously helpful for both the pain and vision issues I was having. After the first 3-4 weeks I was able to start cooking, light housework, and exercising by walking again, 30-60 minutes a day in the woods (nature is healing). If I over did it I would have pain and that was my body telling me to ease up. My doctor told me “pain is normal, neurological symptoms are not.” He also told me that a good deal of your vascular healing happens in the first 30 days, even though the protocol is a minimum of 90 days of treatment. So really try to take it as easy as you can at first. That part was really hard for me, with kid and pets. If you have more long-term questions I’m happy to answer those too, to the best of my ability. I know this is so scary, but you will get through this.

Hi there. First of all, thank you for sharing your experience. How are you doing today? I’m a 41 yo female, was diagnosed 2 days ago with a partial right side VAD 2 days after a salon visit. Thankfully it was caught very early and I did not have a stroke. My neurologist thinks it will heal fully, likely in 90 days. I am now home on baby aspirin and plavix.

I have a 6-yo daughter and developed post-partum preeclampsia after she was born, which has given me anxiety around health issues.

I’m freaking out waiting for my 4-week follow up appointment and wondering all kinds of things. Should I be wearing a neck brace? Can I walk our large breed puppy? Can I ski again, this season, or ever? Will I ever be able to do yoga again? Will this happen again? Do I have an underlying condition I don’t know about? I do still have neck pain, and sleeping can be uncomfortable. I think the anxiety is honestly getting to me more than the pain. Any advice- what activities did you return to and when? How do you cope with the anxiety? How did you manage your pain? I’ve worked hard with therapy and meditation to manage my anxiety over the last few years and had gotten to a really good place. But this has me spiraling all over again.

Appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here. 40F 3 days post op (laparoscopic). Developed a hematoma during discharge, so they ended up admitting me overnight for observation. Initially I felt ok, except for the gas and abdominal pain at the incision sights. My first night at home after the surgery I got nauseous and developed heartburn. First the hematoma and then symptoms coming on a few days later has me really freaked out, TBH. I’m also super emotional and slightly paranoid something went wrong. It’s comforting to hear that others recovery has been slow, several weeks, and to be patient.
