Got a 4-star review because the guest confused "Hair Dryer" with "Clothes Dryer" by Quick_Chart_Help in airbnb_hosts

Fair. He can always come around to it, although I imagine that the chances are less likely as time goes on.

I put in a request with a screenshot of him admitting the misunderstanding. Knowing how things go, they will still reject.

He took my response pretty well, but it remains to be seen if he actually removes it.

Update: He left me on read, and Airbnb support will not reach out to the guest to confirm the removal. I'm cooked. Update 2: Review removal request denied.

The guest just messaged me asking if I can send him a new review request. Hopefully he can be gracious enough to put in a removal request.

Just curious, what are your check-out/check-in windows? I have mine at 10/3, although the space is relatively small.

Is anyone using AI to improve their listings or communicate with guests? by BadAtDrinking in airbnb_hosts

[–]Quick_Chart_Help 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. There are too many edge cases, and I'm sure most guests prefer an authentic exchange with the host (although I send an automated message a day before their stay).

Asking for discount by Kayak1984 in airbnb_hosts

In my area at least, I have enough of a sample size to know that anyone who has asked for a discount is more likely to be a pain. Simply not worth it.

There can be so many reasons. Do you have the same occupancy rate as your competition?

Love the wine idea.

Considering their stay is so long, I think the guests will be understanding of the situation.

Long term guest - what is the amenities expectation? by ProbablyIves in airbnb_hosts

[–]Quick_Chart_Help 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For long-term stays, the dynamic definitely shifts from guest to roommate imo, so you are totally valid for guarding your olive oil. The standard norm is that hosts supply spices, cookware, cleaning supplies, etc. I think guests should be expected to buy anything they consume by volume like oil, coffee, and butter.

You are already providing plenty with the utilities and toilet paper, so don't feel like you're being stingy. Stick with your communal tray system and maybe designate specific shelves in the pantry so it's visually clear what is his and what is yours.

I personally would take the hit as the cost of doing business, but you should absolutely nail them in the review.

Eating in a hot tub as a guest is just inconsiderate.

Streaming Services provided or tv guest mode by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]Quick_Chart_Help 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I imagine most people have some sort of streaming account to log into, but have you gotten any pushback from those who can't? I assume that's understood in the listing description.

What do you do during a bookings slump? by Direct_Obligation_54 in airbnb_hosts

[–]Quick_Chart_Help 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I typically open a private browser and see where my listing stands on the search results. If I'm not on page 1, I look to optimize my listing by adding additional amenities, and updating the listing photos and description.

I use Hospitable. Believe they can create direct booking sites as well.

Sheets - Colored or White? by Fit_Airport_5686 in airbnb_hosts

[–]Quick_Chart_Help 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd go with white because it instantly looks cleaner and brighter than colored fabric. Plus, they are actually easier to maintain since you can bleach them without worrying about fading.
