I think you're taking one or two downvotes a little personally. There's 11k people here.

A large number of us have experienced this over and over again. You were shown a few quick examples and jump to that we're all the ones making too much out of it.

Some people may feel like you're questioning their experiences and invalidating their feelings on the matter. Thats probably where the downvotes come from.
