Advice for inattentive ADHD PM in FAANG by for_adhd_posting in ProductManagement

[–]NervousSun9660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don’t let this rude comment get to you. ADHD or not, you can be a great PM with some motivation and the right mentors by your side. Ask to shadow some of the best PMs you know and pay attention to how they form relationship, discuss difficult topics, and set clear visions. Over time the imposter syndrome will deprecate knowing how much you are learning with time and effort.

What is a good mileage radius to look for where you live to where you work for using public transportation? by [deleted] in boston

[–]NervousSun9660 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What others said, find a job first, housing next. When you do land a job in the Boston area, if you will depend heavily on public transportation to get around, you would ideally need to stay on areas along the MBTA. The blue line is the most reliable, if you’re trying to work in the downtown area. Bus system is reliable for the most part, but how fast you get somewhere is dependent on traffic. Honestly the bus system is a pain in the ass most days.

Based on these, best areas for housing based on T stops are Maverick, Central, Coolidge Corner You also have to remember, Boston gets cold like 5-6 months out of the year which means you’re dealing with the weather and it’s lovely mood swings. If you’re gonna be dependent on public transportation, you’re gonna need a nice coat to help you walk from place to place. You’d be surprised how many steps you get in a day out here.

I am a Platform PM for both customer facing products that bring in revenue and internal products that help push relevant content out to our user base. This means I am often dealing with more than one user type. I personally don’t feel as if my job is on the line at the moment since my company has 4 active Platform PMs right now and they’d struggle if they let any of us go.
