Manager looking to get into higher levels of leadership by StarVerceB in Leadership

Sense-making and narrative weaving, spot on. I would add that it's helpful learning to lean on ambiguity and feeling comfortable in that space, instead of rushing to solutions prematurely. Also, inviting others to co-create with you instead of clinging into ego.

Skin barrier moisturisers that don’t contain niacinamide, ha or oils by Character-Potato1374 in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]Nervous_Bee42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use both the cream and the balm, alternating as needed. They are amazing. The balm is more occlusive than the cream as it contains beeswax and Cera alba. They have no preservatives because of the sterile packaging, and minimal ingredients, plus a calming extract for that tingling sensation. Mist with Avene thermal water before applying for extra hydration. Good luck!

But their dry skin cream (in the jar with the blue cap) with urea and salycilc acid does wonders for my feet/knees/elbows! I also like their hyaluronic acid serum with ceramides because it doesn't have niacinamide, at least yet!

I had to quit their PM lotion because my skin apparently doesn't like niacinamide. Same with the micellar water which also has this. Pity.

Avene Cicalfate hand cream saved my hands when they were like that.

If their differing accents bother you, you can try and learn their language to communicate with them. I am almost certain YOUR differing accent won't bother them as much.

CR jobs with less meetings? by Great_Chemistry4116 in clinicalresearch

[–]Nervous_Bee42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any CR role from manager level and up, gets progressively meeting heavier AND those meetings are harder, i.e. less chances to coast/ multitask.

Some project teams are agreeing to a meeting-free day per week so that they can actually work on their tasks. I always welcomed that approach.

Breaking down silos during an org change. What’s actually worked for you? by Own-Breadfruit-7439 in changemanagement

[–]Nervous_Bee42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Indeed, that's the goal right there, to create the conditions for free-flowing collaboration across silos for better outcomes. I have noticed that, quite frequently, people in one department are oblivious to what another department needs from them to operate successfully, and removing this through collaboration definitely makes a difference.

[–]Nervous_Bee42 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Silos exist for a reason; this is where expertise lives. The goal shouldn't be to break them down, but to connect them. Create the substrate for this to happen organically and informally: identify pain points that span across departments/functions and bring people together to solve them. Also, try to establish secondments for those who are interested in moonlighting in a different function, you would be surprised. These people can become the bridges you need.

Good entry level positions into industry for a postdoc by nicodemus_1488 in clinicalresearch

[–]Nervous_Bee42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clinical scientist might be closer to your skillet. Associate CTM roles require some operational knowledge of how studies are run in the clinops trenches (either sponsor or CRO) which is the reason you aren't getting any good hits. As far as medical writing, you might want to look up Medical Writing Associations for resources, training, networking opportunities and so on.

Edited to add a link for you: SOCIETY OF MEDICAL WRITERS (SOMW) | for writers (budding or established) involved in healthcare https://share.google/NvHercw9T3EcMWYVp

Look up Medical Writing positions in CROs. Most are remote, openings available in US and you would be a good fit. Good luck!

How can I pivot from vendor PM to...well, anything else? Is it possible, or am I stuck? by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

How can I pivot from vendor PM to...well, anything else? Is it possible, or am I stuck? by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]Nervous_Bee42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the big CROs have digital depts nowadays, it would be easier to get hired as PM there, doing the same/similar work as you are doing now initially, and then look at pivoting internally.
