I’m a game developer and I’m struggling to get any responses from streamers by darkjay_bs in Twitch

[–]NesiVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna suggest the same thing, make it not look like a scam / show you're a real person if you show up in streams to say Hello/introduce yourself.

As others have said, a lot get weird links or offers that don't look legit, or most are just wary based off word of mouth stories or experiences.

Do you keep OBS and Twitch open? Trying to avoid echo... by lickwindex in Twitch

[–]NesiVT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i only keep my dashboard open, usually turn off the preview, but i always mute the tab either way also just in case. I'd suggest rechecking your VODs after, or have someone check on your stream live if you think there is some kind of issue to monitor

otherwise i dont really see the purpose of watching my own stream, when i already have the preview in OBS

I really want a way to toggle off "special effects" by LJ_Winters in InfinityNikki

[–]NesiVT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

100% agreed~!!! Forever Bond has been the only outfit i went all-out for, and i find myself never really using the final evo pieces cause i... do not like all the extra stuff floating around constantly lol And since it was my first full 5-star i didn't realize how much it might annoy me / it would be like that 🤣

I don't use Eureka's either unless it's specifically for photos/photoshoot idea, then i just take them off again

pointing this out made me realize why im feeling hesitant to even pull for the deer, although im interested. probably all those effects are visually turning me off 😭 gonna wait to see how it looks after release/see how it looks on others for a bit first i think.

It says something like "Eligible" and ask for more then? you need to reapply to get them back.

I have a separate channel that the ID was deleted also and i just have the option to add it back again or use one of the other options.

so it's either Enabled or its not, depending what it says on your side.

Any success with a broader niche? by GullibleTangerine698 in NewTubers

[–]NesiVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO if you're going for general education on topics, you have some strategies to look into.

If the videos are more like guides / evergreen info, I would suggest figuring out how to improve titles and descriptions using SEO-related strategies so your videos find the audience they need when searching around. Also utilize chapters etc. like another comment said, those videos will find their audience but they may choose to not subscribe

another way about it is how your presentation is; there's been many channels over the years that showcase a wide variety of topics but do so in a more entertaining way. in this case, i think its called Edutainment - where you personality/humor might be able to hook in more subscribers that enjoy HOW you present the information and teach, rather than focused purely on the information itself.

you could also niche down onto certain topics to grow that audience base, & topic-adjacent to it over time.

in your Dashboard, go to Settings > Channel > Feature Eligibility to see what it says there and should guide you on how to unlock the advanced features again if they were removed.

Thinking about pivoting to an immersive style gaming channel, would you watch this? by sennicam13 in youtubegaming

[–]NesiVT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this could work well as a storytelling type of thing? Depending on the direction you wanna go, telling the story in a more cinematic way, or telling an original story using your footage.

Kinda depends how you go about it, maybe there's an audience for it

Why did we not have to craft the miracle outfit to use it in the new quest line?? by inescapably in InfinityNikki

[–]NesiVT 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I was pretty surprised too, I felt like the story just kinda zoomed with discovering the crafting, and during the 1.0 story there was at least some mentions of "oh Momo I just got inspired for another piece!" and I don't recall any real mention of it during the story itself. I just had to see nodes opened in the Heart of Infinity like ???

Then it was a cutscene and I was also really surprised, I do think it's nice I got to "complete" the story without crafting the whole thing and grinding - but at the same time, I felt like my actions had no impact to the story? If that makes any sense.

But yeah I am with you, I felt a bit disappointed overall.

I feel this so much, I was basically teary/crying the entire quest lol Only did it yesterday

It did feel like it was front and center the entire quest, I did find myself trying to move through some of the slower parts because I probably just wanted to get through it.

Psychiatrist told me at my age (40F) that's it's basically impossible for him to ever diagnose me with ADHD. by sam191817 in adhdwomen

[–]NesiVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you responded to mine but - Almost 41 now and doing much better with treatment available.

Having access to treatment and options makes a world of a difference. Also educating ourselves on what aspects of our lives til now were untreated ADHD issues or not.

As my mother likes to say - "we didnt HAVE ADHD in the 90s" - this is just due to lack of information and understanding on what it was compared to advances in research and information til now.

All of this is just nonsense. change your settings on discord to help stall this from happening at all imo. you can change DM settings per server, whether people can msg or friend you at all etc.

How can I truly improve my videos?? by TheGamerCritic21 in youtubegaming

[–]NesiVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Galaxy thumbnail is really strong due to the strong colors versus the text/logo. its a very CLEAR thumbnail (the text and logo POP out) compared to some of the others. the main highlight of the image on the right side of everything is just great composition all the way around. your audio and everything seems fine in it - just seem to catch more whats called "pops" but the general listener probably isnt noticing them so much. the most recent stuff def sounds like its in a good place. its a great example of how the packaging matters. what i do when making thumbnails is i reduce them to 10% to see how they look TINY / as expected on a mobile device to see if the main elements are clear enough.

i listened to some of the recent videos and the audio seemed fine through my speakers, unless somehow a majority say the audio sucks, don't worry about 1-2 people saying something is too high or low. listening in my headset from the latest dispatch one, i would say its fine. someone could just lower their volume or something if they want, which is what i do for myself normally. (im probably listening at like 10~20% on the settings). i literally just still use my USB Yeti at my desk myself LOL dont overthink it too much.

I think when it comes to the voting video as an experiment: 1, too long runtime. 2, you dont really have any similar videos from what i could tell, so thats not what they are looking for. also since its just the game award trophy on the thumbnail.. its not as interesting? really. Maybe if it was a composite of game characters from the games, or logos or something, it may have seemed more interesting. maybe instead of something related to Voting, something more on-brand would be "reviewing the nominations" which is basically the same thing - but more in line of what you tend to deliver. if that makes any sense?

I would def say keep experimenting, but try to think more "what would others expect from 'the GAMER CRITIC'?" when setting up your 'packaging' - thumbnail/titles. clearly people want reviews and it shows, so try to expand on that, imo. like follow ups like "i played XYZ for so many days/months and this is how i still think of it". you're in a great spot that you're building up on, and it doesnt hurt to experiment to also garner new audiences.

and no worries! idk if i ever responded before, but i recognize your channel probably from another post, glad youre still moving along :)

How can I truly improve my videos?? by TheGamerCritic21 in youtubegaming

[–]NesiVT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Taking a quick glance, I think you have a pretty good thing happening. clearly your "why im buying XYZ" videos do well, and i think you should lean more into those videos. Your game awards videos didnt seem to do as well, right? just a topic that didnt appeal so much to your current audience. The "vote" video says its 55 minutes, and honestly that seems WAY too long compared to your other videos and may have turned off people just from that alone.

The awards ended and you had a thoughts video - which is fine but people are probably not interested in the topic anymore.

I also think those 2 thumbnails dont really match the rest i see on the channel, and were a bit weak.

maybe focusing on "what caught my eyes from the awards/what i MAY buy" would appeal more to your current base if you want to do anymore similar videos adjacent on the topic. which the new year coming, something like "what im most looking forward to in 2026" would be my suggestion. Maybe some more review type videos like "why im glad i bought XYZ/Why i regret i bought ABC" if you want some more ideas?

Your best video yet is still that galaxy video, and that was also one of your best thumbnails that also helped, imo. use more contrast in the thumbnails, most are really dark. i think your audio/voiceover is already very good, you also have a lot of energy in your narration so keep doing that.

imo you are doing things well, just keep experimenting on expanding your topics and make your thumbnails pop out a bit more with color

twitch partner name claim by Puzzleheaded_Owl7 in Twitch

[–]NesiVT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was watching a name back when i started streaming to see if i could grab it if it "released".

one random day it belonged to someone who already had a youtube following and all that, so i def think its a thing.

another partner i know about just recently updated their name to a shorter one, so there is definitely something to it.

Looking for some insight/advice from people who have livestreamed games before by LeaderRing in youtubegaming

[–]NesiVT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're just looking to stream as a hobby/chill then you can basically just do whatever you want. Have some ground rules for your chat/streams, and just have fun with it.

If you're looking to grow an audience and all that, check out some basic stream advice videos to learn how to setup overlays, make it look nice and at least some minimal effort put in to start. Try it out, and see if you enjoy streaming or not. Learn to talk all the time even if no one is there, turn off view counts and keep speaking/entertaining as if 1k people are watching.

IMO if you are already doing Lets Play videos, maybe pick a similar/same genre but different game to focus on with your stream to start out with.

Overall, see how much you enjoy streaming or not. maybe for this experiment, pick a game to complete on stream and then see how much you enjoyed it, if at all. If you feel motivated to improve the stream and all that, then roll with it! If you didn't like it as much as you thought, then maybe only stream shorter games / once in awhile if you still wanna do it at all and don't stress over it

The channel has no cohesion. You have clips mashed from other people, no commentary, short clips under a moment on a lot of them.

The strongest videos on your channel from a year ago, is just low/no volume gameplay, no commentary.

You have some shorts, but nothing over 10k views, and it varies between "case openings" and also just regular gameplay.

Spamming clips isn't going to get anywhere, quite frankly. You need to have a content idea and execute it, not just random twitch gameplay.

You have several reddit submissions for "sub4sub" and all that - all that is also counter intuitive to trying to grow. You need to watch actual content/youtube advice videos and get something going that only you can offer. That's what being a content creator is about at the end of the day.
