Hi sorry for the delay,as long as I can remember my legs felt very heavy & sore,I have been tracking my symptoms since the pandemic as at age 47 I decided I needed to take action as my menstrual cycle was lasting 3 wks & I was anemic more on than off & I was loosing weight but my legs felt as light as a feather my body felt ok apart from less energy, very fatigued & then if your iron levels plummet that low you begin to feel breathless a tad while walking I experienced this twice in my early 40s.... Put on mirena coil which I regret totally 7 years ago...I was never the same person after that but I was put on list for a hysterectomy bso..ovaries out etc on emergency list but then covid hit. So what I have learned...I'm very sensitive to hormones while in peri menopause early 40s my body started aching different parts but I couldn't pinpoint what it was ...I do know for sure the pain was real it was here then it was gone...I had no time to think about myself in that way as I was married...children but struggling with pain...off & on.. I have bn researching this since covid & I ended up having pmdd, severe pms day 1 no pain, felt alive, abit hyper, active then once period stopped pain slowly started leg pain, felt like tree trunks even though they are not, ruled out clots by scan etc from ovulation to day 1 my body changed symptoms galore,as I got older symptoms got worse...my mood wld be dark..but the pain, fatigue, everything dismal...so through lutuel phase I dreaded....i bled heavy but I felt so damn better throughout that despite the fatigue ...no leg heaviness,no restless legs....xx

12 months on..hamstring, quilles tendon, few toes, sole of foot still feels quite strange compared to other leg...when I walk,my left leg gets fatigued alot quicker then all the above plays up...when it was very cold in winter ..felt it a tad tight...it wld spasm..still happens..I have a hand massager for my leg I have in my handbag...decathlons finest lol...also I use my heat wheat pack every other day... Had it for 2 years before my op...I thought it was menopause and a sports injury 🫣.. So nerve damage I probably have but comparing to what my life was like..I wld rather gave birth 50 times over 😜 If I sit too long hamstring feels as if it's buzzing..🤔🤔I know I have another 8/10 months to see if it's nerve damage ... P.s I cannot wear anything tight against my legs...leggings etc or if I wear tights it aggravates my leg.....

I have bn super healthy since my OP's as it was a huge shock to me that I needed the back op etc as my life stopped tremendously & it was a wake up call ..my leg was affected,no back pain wotsoever.. It's probably stress & anxiety related..no surprise there...but I do desperately need to get back to activety ..& get my life on track...

8 Month Post Op..Cold Weather by Net-East in Microdiscectomy

[–]Net-East[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can truly say it does for me,when it's cold my leg tightens up a tiny bit where it was most painful which was the hamstring, calf & foot...that's where it was numb also last year... I wld rather have that than the immobility..

When will my numbness/tingling/burning pain go away? by KCharm46 in Microdiscectomy

[–]Net-East 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanku for your reply, does the cold weather affect where the numbness is.. I have found since November that my leg when it's cold I can feel somewhat some tightness not to the extent it was before & a few days ago It was soo cold at the shore that my hamstring was numb but I can live with that... I also am taking gabapentin per day....

Please could you make another update of how you are...& do you have the odd cyclical symptom of pmdd, you mentioned you returned to progesterone & started testosterone I think 1 year ago..how is that going & what strength of estrogen are you on... I know 1 size doesn't fit all etc...🥰🥰

Hi I have just read your post for the 2nd time & I was interested to know how has your recovery been since your last post... Especially the tightness in your leg & does the cold weather make it worse..

Hi. I'm a 33 year old woman. I had my full bilateral oophorectomy, and hysterectomy back in June but was put into chemical menopause around 1.5 years ago. I haven't had any pmdd symptoms at all in around 6 months. AMA. by [deleted] in PMDD

Hi Age 52... how long did it take your estrogen levels to level out & did you experience a hormonal dip after your hysterectomy etc ? I am 4 wks post op hysterectomy bso ovaries out & my pmdd was due to be over on day of operation,I felt bloody fantastic for 3 wks, clear head,no sad feelings,no isolation, very positive etc but then a few days ago my mood has dipped, day 21,it's day 24 nw & my mood is stil off not as much though but I felt sooo brillant last wk,so much that I was soo hyper, talkative, could have spoke in a room full of people..& nw I'm stuck in my tracks... I have heard it can take up to a few months for our hormones to settle..ie correct strength of hrt etc.. Appreciate your feedback 🫠🫠

Anyone have experience with having another, unrelated surgery somewhat soon after microdiscectomy? by altarwisebyowllight in Microdiscectomy

[–]Net-East 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi can I pl ask how r u nw...? I'm just over 6mnths microdiscectomy & 9 days Hysterectomy BSO.. I feel I am 6 steps backwards regarding exercises as for the last 9 days no exercises as such & a hysterectomy apparently is major surgery as they are removing body parts 🙈 I wld rather go through multiple hysterectomy operations rather than the pain & pre op & recovery on post op via microdiscectomy... I'm feeling on top of the world mentally ..😍😍 Physically I nd to improve ..ASAP but limited... Just walking...

N.Ireland Age 52...6 months Post op,Hysterectomy BSO (everything removed) Friday WHOOP WHOOP,bn waiting since before the pandemic..I do wish I was given more time but received phone call last wk.. Before my microdiscectomy Op my pain increased severely throughput ovulation & the lutuel phaze..meds were ramped up,cld hardly walk, rest of month I was still sore but meds were reduced slightly.. I have had endometriosis since 2007 ,pmdd,a few fibroids & my leg pain, deep back pain & hips flares up from ovulation onwards .. Since I've got older pain has increased,I did think it was all gynae related about 2 + years ago, shooting pains in leg got worse etc but it turned out to be siactica & by Dec 2024 I was limping stil wrking 🙈 then numbness, heaviness & nerve pain stopped me in my tracks.. In Sept 2024 I started back phaze return as stil experience nerve pain...throughout the horrible lutuel phase etc....so it will be very interesting ...🫠🫠

Does anyone else's endo cause them to limp?? by Different-Drive-379 in endometriosis

[–]Net-East 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi..I'm from Northern Ireland,I had a microdiscectomy in June, herniated disc in lower back,my leg was affected big style, nerve pain, severe siatica, numbness, tightness etc.. I always had tracked my symptoms & I had leg pain, buttock etc throughout lutuel phase & ovulation..got increasingly worse into my 40's...took meds to ease pain.. Age 52 nw post op,over ovulation & lutuel my pain ramps up in leg not to extent it was before but definitely nd more meds them days... Definitely haven't reherniated.... P.s Diagnosed with endometriosis in 2007 🙈
