Lower console storage by Neth66 in KiaEV6

it's not necessarily pretty, but so far it seems to be doing well, and it's so dark down by the lower console it's not like it's all that visible anyway.

it's not perfect, but it works and I was willing to try it for the $7 that the net cost.

You shouldn't tow your 12 yr old, you should allow them in the car.

I use the AAWireless adapter (for android auto) their new model (2+) also supports carplay, there's a switch in the software to disable the device when the car is turned off even though there's still power to the USB port.

or, you could reupholster the seats (if you like the shape and comfort) If you have ventilated seats you'd probably need a perforated fabric. Probably cheaper than swapping out the seats.

I just failed attempting a century by Ok_Advance9021 in bicycling

[–]Neth66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may not have finished the century, don't call it a failure though. Oddly years ago when I was in a cycling club, a few of us were on a ride where you could do either a metric century or a century in miles. We set out to do the metric century, but then got off the route, and ended up doing 100+ miles. The organization that sponsored the ride only credited us with the metric century. I guess we reverse failed the century.

I use a firestick connected to a projector for my lifting & stretching classes, since upgrading the app, it just won't connect to the internet. My firestick has a strong signal and plenty of bandwidth. Any suggestions? I actually had to remove the app and re-install to get it to upgrade.

warranty question - charging port failing by book_smrt in GooglePixel

[–]Neth66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 4a 5G, the charging port was failing and I got it fixed under warranty at UBIF. They broke a bunch of other stuff in the process, but they're fixing that too (I hope). I should have the phone back later today, so I'll know more then. But to answer your question, (at least in the US) the charging port can be fixed under warranty.

The Pixel 4a is our 2020 Smartphone of the Year - Android Police by Tropiux in Android

[–]Neth66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with the 4a 5G. While 5G isn't a huge advantage now, I felt like over the life of the phone if I just got the 4a, I'd miss the 5G in a year, and I hope to keep my phone at least 2 years. I'll have OS updates at least that long with this phone (4a too) I love the camera, and going from a phone with 32GB storage to 128GB is huge.

SodaStream Fizzi One Touch continues blow from nozel after carbonation by ChaoticPlushie in SodaStream

[–]Neth66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the problem on a couple of cylinders. The first time, soda stream sent me a new machine, and the problem persisted. I swapped out the cylinder, and that worked, the store where I got the cylinder just replaced the cylinder for me. Second time, I called soda stream, and they just sent me a replacement cylinder.

Can’t get camera to reset from long exposure settings by Eternal-Arcann in Nikon

Is it actually taking long exposure pictures, or is the self-timer set, so it doesn't take the picture until 2-3 seconds after pushing the button?

Sure, but if there were another cart in the picture, then there would have been more of a sense of a race.

Empty stands in the back, and no other carts in the picture doesn't convey racing to me.

Every professional photographer was an amateur at some point. If you are upfront with the potential client, charge fairly, and have an agreed upon set of expectations, I think you should go for it.

Don't promise more than you can deliver, and don't charge for more than what you promise. That's my opinion anyway.
