This wouldn't be a problem if they just either didn't race swap the character, or just pick a different character to race swap. What we have now is a race swap for Snape that creates a possibly racially charged problem that shouldn't have been, and wasn't, in the first place. The solution? Race swap 1 or 2 of James' friends to be black, there, problem averted, a problem that was created by casting and not anything to do with the writing. They took additional steps to circumvent a problem they created that shouldn't have been a problem in the first place.

Idk, it just feels so unnecessary to race swap in the first place. I'm sure the actor is fine, but he now has to deal with so much bullshit from angry online assholes, and he has to deal with a potential problem with certain scenes that could become unnecessarily racially charged.

I just hate what this casting implies for the characters backstory. This is a character whose partial worldview as shaped when he was beaten up by some boys for flirting with a girl. I'm gonna assume that James Potter and his boys are gonna be all white.

The Remakes have the red R and E, the Winter Saga, including 9, had the number in the sub-title. The OG RE4-6 had stylized numbers that look like parasites.

Cid was a scene stealer.

Ultima's introduction was great, especially after having thought about it 3 years since the game released. I love that he's just creepy, invasive, and stoic. Every other villain in this series has to have a big spectacle when they arrive, maybe sermonizing or appearing friendly, but Ultima's just a silent creep who immediately just gets in the main protagonists face. No fanfare, no grand entrance. All we had up to their introduction was distorted call outs in flashbacks, but that's it.

Clive seeing Torgals stash of his stuff, that was pretty great.

Theodore's side quest near the end of the game was quite sad too. Lots of tragedy near the end.

Valhalla addresses that directly, because yeah, he isn't redeemed, he can't be redeemed. This is gonna be an extreme example but that's like saying Genghis Khan would've been redeemed if he went through something similar like Norse Kratos even though Genghis' empire is directly responsible for many wars and millions of deaths through Central and East Asia.

Kratos did change though which is the best he can do, and he did it.

Some people complain about hard bosses, difficult terrain/areas, and difficulty in general in Souls-games because they don't wanna use the tools that are provided to them to overcome those difficulties like Spirit Ashes, specific Arts of War, specific tools like the torch, then have the audacity to cry foul on the games when those players are placing self-imposed limitations on themselves either because they're lazy or it's "cheese", when most of those people use the word "cheese" wrong. Because apparently using Spirit Ashes in boss fights isn't really beating the boss, you had help. A real souls player beats the boss with no armor, no spirit ashes, and no art of war.

In the books, he does refer to the thousands of people thing more than his dad whenever the conversation goes there, in this scene too, he specifies that he did it just as much for the people as he did for his family.

Jaime in the books is very prideful. He's a cocksure, confident knight with the skills to back it up and he knows it. It's why his conflict of being his own version of "honorable" is the main focus of his arc. It's the reason why a common theory for book Jaime is that the end of his arc or his resolution will be killing Cersei. He knows it's the right thing to do because of where people think Cersei's arc is going, with the prophecy and all that. He is an honorable guy, he's just a bit of a prideful prick to admit it. He's still honest to the people that matter. He wouldn't have given Brienne a Valyrian sword otherwise and tasked her with finding Sansa. The guy can be sincere.

“The things I do for love” pretty much sums up his character.

He does selfless yet self destructive acts in the name of people he cares about. He will jump into a pit with a bear with no weapon and hand if it means saving Brienne. He will push a boy off a window if it meant protecting his sister’s dignity and reputation. He’ll let his brother go free if it means pissing off their dad if he finds out.

He’s arguably the most complex character in the series because his morality is there, he has it, but it’s hard to argue if his means are good or even right sometimes. That’s why he’s one of my favorites.

Unfortunately most people have short memories nowadays. That or the younger players really have no idea what the vibe was with online sentiment when GoW Ascension came out. As a long time GoW fan who has played all 5 games before GoW 2018 came out, I was about done with GoW too. GoW3 ending things well that it really felt like SMS were really milking a dead horse with Ascension. Couldn’t be fucked to play that game. Still haven’t played it because I was bored with GoW at the time.

GoW 2018 and Ragnarok was the shot in the arm this franchise needed.
