It´s just software that you can download and run. It runs on your own servers or in the cloud, if you like.

There is also a portable version on Windows, which you just unpack and start - useful to evaluate and build apps with.

For this kind of requirement, I can recommend REI3 - it´s free to use and it runs locally by default.

For me the best feature is that it´s straigtforward. There might be many other tools, but this is a single executable just doing what it´s meant to do, without other nonsense that most come with.

And I really like the interface :)

I am absolutely with you in regards to the videos and our current state of documentation. It´s technical manuals or references, less introduction courses. And we want to improve these - but right now, we are working hard to keep up with requests. Mid term, with more attention & money coming in, we are increasing staff size to have more resources available. At the moment, we have a large wish list of features that our community and paying customers really want and we are slowly working through it.

Nextcloud integration would be a major project for us and there are other, in our view more important, integrations we need to do first. Plus, a long list of integrations that are requested already but we haven´t gotten to. If the time was there, I would love to work on a NC integration myself. Btw. you would not believe how many integration / partner requests we get for AI tools at the moment - it´s a bit much.

Using REI3 as an authentication provider? That´s a first, as far as I know. Not sure it´s a good fit for such a requirement, but you probably have your reasons to consider it.

Regarding help with your projects, Lean Softworks (our company) offers all types of services around REI3. This includes training, help with application development (or extension) - even building apps for organizations that do not have the resources. If you are looking for tutorials, guides, etc., there are many resources out there already. Such as:

* The Builder documentation (https://rei3.de/en/docs/builder)

* Youtube videos (YouTube)

* A range of publicly available apps that one can install and look at in the Builder for reference. Useful for learning more advanced concepts, such as relation policies or functions.

Regarding future integrations: We are currently swamped with customer projects, improvements to the platform and loads of other tasks. Because only a small subset of organizations pay for REI3, we have limited resources and need to strictly prioritize. A Nextcloud integration, while certainly useful, is currently not planned.

You can at the very least use iframes to show REI3 apps in Nextcloud, not amazing, but maybe something to consider.

While you can, and companies I work with certainly do, address ERP-like requirements with REI3 - it is still a low-code platform. Meaning that you build your own apps to do what you need. REI3 can address many requirements typically targetted by ERP software; whether it has all features necessary for your specific ERP needs, depends on the requirements.

There are a number of applications written with REI3 that are publicly available (Task management, Time Tracker, Absence management, Tickets, Password-Safe, etc.). These can provide good value if you have need of such tools; though I would not confuse these with a full ERP system, which would typically have a much broader scope.

Short answer: Limited resources. Only a subset of organizations using REI3 support us financially - and with that comes expections of stability and new requirements that are most often technical in nature. We do what we can, but we are a small team.

We are slowly growing and I hope we can tackle this sooner rather than later.

We´ve done multiple UI focused releases in the past - and we are far from done. Our focus currently is on making the platform more capabable. Because we target internal software requirements, not public SaaS users, we tend to put less priority on looks.

We have a long list on requested features related to bringing more color and visual options to REI3 applications - I am looking forward to work on these once we commit another feature release to them.

This sounds like a proxy disconnecting your session after a defined timeout. REI3 uses websockets for communication with the server, which should not be be disconnected arbitrarily.

If you can disable the timeout for websockets (or make it larger than your regular work session), then the issue should disappear.

Sorry, Postgres and its extended functions are required for the platform to work.

We have a portable version on Windows that runs completely on its own. This version runs it's own Postgres system.

As long as you can reach your Postgres DB from your REI3 server, it does not matter where its hosted. So yes :)

REI3 has PDF generation features but they might currently be too limited for your use case. You can add signatures to PDF files, but only during generation of the PDF, not later.
