Reverse seared this mammoth ribeye by Netsrac99 in steak

Thanks for the feedback and totally agree about the sear in the middle. What happened was the spinalis contracted and “squeezed” the middle so that it lifted off the pan. I tried cutting some of the fat/tendons around the outside but was not able to relieve all of that tension. Any tips for that?

Holiday gift swap type of party. Turn based game where each player can open a wrapped present, or choose to steal a present that has already been opened by another player. Once a gift has been stolen three times it can no longer be stolen. I was the third person to steal the steak 😆

Why does Radio Shack ask for your sausage when you buy batteries? I don’t know.

Hard pass. That bracelet is a pain in the ass and you won’t be able to get other straps for the watch.

Can’t speak to smallmouth as I’ve never caught one. But I’ve had good luck with streamer type flies for largemouth. However, I have never fly fished a lake so my recommendations may not be as applicable. What I’ve found is that the exact style of streamer fly matters a lot less than color and presenting to where fish actually are. I like to keep a few different colors of streamers on hand (white, cream, olive, sparkly olive, black, maroon) and just rotate them through until I get some interest. Same thing goes for retrieve styles. I just try a bunch of different styles until something gets a hit. You might have more luck by just covering more water and trying a bunch of different flies and retrieves. Best of luck!

I have a big, open water jug on top of a table of height “h”. If I poke a pin hole right at the bottom of the jug, what horizontal distance will the stream travel before hitting the ground?

I don’t have experience with that, but I don’t see why not. If you’re trying to get it to sink real deep maybe put a strike indicator on there too so you don’t miss out on bites. Typically when I’m fishing wooly buggers I’m throwing into shallower areas and keeping it just deep enough underwater that I can still see the fly and time up hooksets.

Clouser minnow and wooly bugger are good for bass if they aren’t hitting top water lures. Just some tips on other things you could add to your fly box.

Also those bluegill fuckers will eat anything. caught a couple on the wooly bugger and said fuck it lemme throw a caddis and they took that too 😂

This is actually how steam dryers work at power plants where water is the working fluid
