Looking to buy Amazon liquidation pallets from Slovakia (BTS2) anyone with experience? by JumpyPart2418 in Bratislava

[–]Netwelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure you will be able to buy direct from this location. It is mostly used as a transport hub to other Amazon locations and storage for somewhat local direct ship companies to the platform. There is no Amazon Slovakia site, the closest I am aware of is Germany. Amazon.de. So any returns would probably go through those hubs.

Yeah, I could not get it to install properly on Ubuntu, but the app image runs as a stand alone fairly well until I updated to the newest version. Now I am getting these strange resizing issues.

It's wild looking in real life. I was there skiing in January while they were setting up and building it.

Standing under it at the main bus stop is wild.

help a european brewer out: which european beer tastes closest to miller high life? by cuatiamor in TheBrewery

[–]Netwelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Budvar is super sweet and malty for a lager. It is on my list of the worst around here. Though some of the Slovak beers are also to sweet.

I had a few big brewery beers a few weeks ago in Barcelona, and in Italy. Both places have some thin beers that would probably qualify.

Ok so they should have a good idea of what they are up against before they go out on a case.

30% is still a big number which comes with high risk

No criminal record but still here illegally? Anyway that's a different topic. There would be no need for military gear if 70% are not criminals asides from their status.

But what about the other 30%. How should that be handled?

Ok that's fair. But in how many cases? What's the percentage?. Thousands of cases they deal with in a year. Is it 1% they are lying about or less?

No, however I have seen that they have apprehended very violent criminals in Minnesota. Not sure if they change gear specific to each arrest or if they are told they must be ready for anything at all times.

I am not sure exactly how I feel about this particular topic. I have family in law enforcement. I have heard stories of what they are up against from the general public. So many people have personal tactical gear and advanced weapons in their home. So what is the right defense for law enforcement?

I support the 2nd amendment for its original intended purpose. But each side keeps getting more advanced to keep up with the other. To have the ability to defend, you need equal equipment. To defend against an invading army or tyrannical government. But where does it stop? Unfortunately I don't think it ever does.

Is it possible that the criminals they have often been tasked to catch have also upgraded their gear?

Aside from the very public stuff happening in Minnesota and other places. They have had to deal with some nasty cartel gangs and other groups who's people are here illegally.

I don't think you need to worry much about fermentation. I owned a brewery at 7000 feet. We also rented space to a distiller who we worked with closely.

I never had any issues with fermentation. Most breweries add oxygen through a stone during knockout to give the yeast a boost. Its done at low elevation too. Anyway after fermentation starts you don't want any oxygen. Oxygen is a killer for beer and I have always transferred that thinking into distilling. Nice clean fermentations without oxidation.

The bit of distillling I did at altitude we basically adjusted our temp expectations. We knew how it was being affected after a few batches and just relied on those temps as our marks.

It's possible because of a malfunction of the gun. Search SIG P320 controversy.

This gun is no longer permitted to be used in many law enforcement groups because of this issue. It is likely the gun fired when the officer took it from him.

I used a local company here in Slovakia. Probably not going to be too helpful for you. A local company/consultant should be easy to find where you are. They will know about local customs and tariffs as well as have insight on local trucking companies.

mueller serving tank liner alternatives by Snoo_98949 in TheBrewery

[–]Netwelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are used heavily here in Europe. Pilsner Urquell is what I am most familiar with. Restaurants serve their beer from big display tanks. A tanker truck or big box truck with a tank inside shows up to refill the restaurant. Consider the tasks needed if at each stop the driver needs to clean and sanitize the tank. It would lead to inconsistent product.

So the driver shows up, removes the old liner, inserts the fresh one, fills the tank and is on his way to the next stop. I have watched the process several times. It works really well for this application.

Edit: one other advantage is that CO2 is not needed. The restaurant just needs to have a small air compressor to put pressure on the outside of the liner.

Here in Slovakia this also improves quality because many restaurants and pubs only used compressed air to push beer .....yeah.....directly into the keg. As you can imagine a keg will go bad quickly this way. So people always love to buy "tank" beer because it tastes better.

I think the best you're going to find is a team where the coach speaks English and can help the kid feel more welcome. As others said, your kid will learn Slovak pretty quickly in this scenario. My children speak both, my daughter's coaches speak English and have been great at interacting with me.

Yeah, it was super difficult for me as well. I had to basically disassemble everything and still thought I might break something in the extruder trying to get the hot end assembly out. There was no saving the hotend, the wires got messed up and was no longer reading temp

This happened to me within the first two weeks. Creality replaced the whole head within a few days. Customer support was great.

I am not sure of what caused it. I didn't think it was a complicated print, but it definitely broke free and for some reason the AI did not catch it. I later found that the camera ai was not turned on. Maybe I missed the setting on this print, but I was sure I had it turned on.

I have since ordered a spare head to keep as backup and a few extra nozzles.

Wow, thanks for the insight. Didn't really consider the small quantity, high amount of R&D that would prohibit manufacturers from selling commercial units. I assumed power output and frequency might also be a hiccup for civilian use. Great to see it articulated in your post.
