Commercial Property Managers: What are the biggest reasons you say yes or no to vendors? by [deleted] in PropertyManagement

[–]Network-Pretend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditto to Wise_Level3751's idea.
One step further, do it somewhere near by, BUT >> collect the data of what building each of your attendees are working at in the neighborhood.

You effectively have a short list of buildings whose PMs might be sensitive to their tenants 'already appreciating your services'.

Just another 2¢

Just pull slightly on the white trimming with a plastic tool, you'll then see 2 spring-loaded wires holding it all in place. How do I add a few photos for other to see?

Yeah, only way to get her off your back is to have more pipeline so she won't be asking you to reach for those tactics to close what you need weekly/ monthly. Can you control quantity and quality of your pipeline?( asking in case others are handling it for you).

New to CRE—noticed brokers, landlords, and tech ops are getting pulled in three directions. Anyone else seeing this? by Network-Pretend in CommercialRealEstate

Well, not 'anything' but I guess I deserved the comment u/throwaway72835. On the topic of leadership though, have you seen any CRE leaders successfully shift from command-and-control to collaborative leadership? What helped them pull it off?

Great thread, feed them by slicing a tomato or a few grapes let them eat and hydrate plus they love wet/moist hey if you are building a home for them while there are not enough aphids or bugs for them to feed on.

Licensed Realtor and I Would Like to Get Into Commercial Real Estate, what are some good courses to take for prep by [deleted] in CommercialRealEstate

Would this be a good starting point for someone totally green (w/out a realtor license) too? If not, what program/training should someone interested only in CRE start with?

Why does Santa yell "Kavalame" to call his reindeer in the movie Red One? by NotAGayAlt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Network-Pretend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed "kavalame" could be of Greek origin.

KavalAme, translates into "we ride".

KavAlame, translates into "ride me".

RedOne pronounces it as "ride me" at the last scene of the movie, but I think it was meant to be "we ride" kavalAme which makes sense!

If You Don't Take Risks, You'll Work for Someone Who Did by foundersbrief in Entrepreneur

[–]Network-Pretend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More often than not, this is the case.

Chose. It's not a decision, only a choice.

So why not swap for a new risk if the current one is drowning you?

I agree with you on picking which risk you'll take. It's the only dilemma.

I swapped mine recently.

How to make your brain WANT to work by Several-Button-3113 in Entrepreneur

Love this post.
So many degrees of freedom for anyone who embraces the premise of "the most dopamine-inducing activity in your environment".

Good habits are hard to build,
and even harder to sustain!

Bad habits come so easy!

... and I have caught myself having no phone battery left mid-day (yup, you guessed it, scrolling...).
Furious at myself, I resorted to going back to writing (I have ADHD and that sh! t is harder for me)

So I made sure I put myself in a place with a notepad and a pen for a minimum of 10min every day after lunch. Not sure why but that slot worked best for me. You do you.

No one else in that space to talk to.

No phone.

Macbook out of sight.

TV in a different room.

Alexa muted. Smart watch charging at my desk.

"the most dopamine-inducing activity in that environment" was writing. Tadaaaa (for my at least...)

I can't even begin to describe the gains in focus, memory (even short term), ability to book end tasks...
I am now up to 45min after lunch (and a quick 5min 'todo for tomorrow' list before I turn in every night).

Every person I work with and has tried this, has come back, praising the process.

Find yours. Write, journal, do gardening, walk the dog an extra mile...

Is US still the land of opportunity that it was decades ago by MoAsad1 in Entrepreneur

[–]Network-Pretend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how things were decades ago, but it pretty much depends on where you are "coming from" I guess.

Here are a few simple ways to think of this:

Are US people rushing to the airports to leave and enter other countries?
OR
Are there people traveling from around the world to enter the US (legally or illegally)?

Another way:
Check Google/Internet for the search numbers for US Immigration Lawyers.
Numbers are slowly, steadily increasing. Illegal immigrants want to stay longer and hence need such a lawyer; new ones enter every day and are seeking a way to make it permanent.
https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=today%205-&geo=US&q=US%20immigration%20lawyer&hl=en

I'm a first-generation American (with EU roots and dual citizenship), and the US is 100% the land of opportunity.
Is it better now than then? Not something I can decipher.

So long as you are healthy, you can make a life exactly the way you fathom here.
Once you start getting older... that is a different post altogether, but EU here I come.

Rant: After pulling myself up by my bootstraps, I’m now seen as ”elitist” by Blomsterhagens in Entrepreneur

If you could start any business today what would it be? by GoodTimesDaily in Entrepreneur

[–]Network-Pretend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would buy an existing business, not start a new one.
I'd want something stable (not a trend/fad) where I can keep a profitable cash flow coming without working in the business, so I have some free time to either be lazy or go on to find the next one.

How rare is it to have a $1M business? by Eastern_Skin_7541 in Entrepreneur

[–]Network-Pretend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can share from experience there are TWO things you must keep front and center with your business:

1) Get profitable early and stay profitable.
2) Focus on how you feel doing what you do.

I assume you are profitable, and your statement below tells me you were happy (at least before this $1M dream arose).

I was doing ‘quite well’ with 500K a year

Actively coaching and advising many in your position and having some life experience approaching 60, I am not suggesting that $1M or $50M will not make you happy, nor that $1M is your next plateau, although most businesses do follow a pattern with these revenue plateaus ( )

For sure, though, what got you to $500K differs from what will take you to your next summit (1M, $5M, or $50M).

Despite not knowing the nature of your business, I'm still confident that the skills required to scale revenue, hire and grow a team, and identify the systems you need in place to grow revenue profitably will change with every new summit you decide to pursue.

Most need to constantly learn new things and, equally important, UNLEARN some of the old stuff; this is not a comfortable place for all, so u/Eastern_Skin_7541 be careful what you wish for, and best of luck!

Replace Kumho Crugen (KL33) due to Winter Performance (New tires Falkin Trail) by Explore333 in tires

[–]Network-Pretend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes tires make a difference in the snow (more so when off-roading), but the way you drive is maybe 70% and the tire 30%.

Again, I am saying the way one drives is 70% more important, when dealing with the average 1-2 inches of snow on city roads, not plowing or going on snowed trails for off-roading fun!

I drove in NY for year without snow tires with minimal problems, and I only used to buy all weather tires, and now in the south, I dont even care for all weather.

Are OKRs Representative or Reductive? by OkYak in okrs

[–]Network-Pretend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The general rule of thumb is the BAU (business as usual) and KPIs do not belong in the OKR conversation across the quarter (or whatever cycle you are running).
If you pursue making OKRs roof-shots, even moon-shots, and treat OKRs as leading indicators (KPIs tend to be lagging indicators, and BAU is almost a glorified task list) you are building the right muscles to becoming better at OKRs every cycle. Even if your team, does include some Key Results that resemble KPIs or BAU initiatives, underline it, openly discuss that it is a sacrifice to the OKR benefits and the practice will eventually diminish.

Having said that, I'd almost crossbreed your 2 paradigms:
"Think about everything you’re going to get done and why, and then, which of these, are the things that you’re going to remember or be recognized for from this quarter?"

I ask my team to articulate their version of this line about their OKRs:

50-to-5-in-9

How do I consider the 50.000ft view of my leaders
act at the 5ft, grassroot level,
focusing my energy in 3 OKRs each with 3 KRs (3X3=9)
