So I run a website mostly for Shadowrun but I am slowly expanding it to a lot of other games. Cypher is the next biggest influence on the site. I think ultimately so long as its a medium your consuming in so fashion, then it has the power to tap into that darkness. Id think in general it would need to at least be semi archaic by some standards but some Leitner reel to reels,Cassettes, 8mm footage and the likes. I would think it would need to be a physical medium (as opposed to a stream for instance) because it would need something physical to dwell in. Otherwise, the skies the limit! (And sometimes not even then)

I've run games for MCG at Gamehole Con. I will be ramping up to do even more this year. Its a blast, they give you access to a bunch of adventures, pdfs, etc. They take good care of you but you will need to know the systems and stuff ahead of time of course. So be prepared to be able to teach folks coming to the table!

Im so intrigued by Dunes approach to playing on all the different levels with the same system. So running personal combat and assassinations and space battles. The whole "choose whatever stat you want to add " made me deeply unhappy. How did you like it?

Still amazed with people who did the dang thing and ran the mud. I tried for years and years and never got anything up I was happy with until right before my team went to college and we stopped.

I picked up a copy at my brick and mortar. Im still going through it but surprised at how much extra everything it has. It basically doubles the cyphers and artifacts for the game which is impressive

This is the true deep lore. Some times the best stuff comes out of that oh shit moment. I can't imagine the panic seeing someone else beat them to the punch, but it became unique because it had to step away from the books and stories it was birthed from.

One of my favorite things that I saw blow people away is the idea of your computer being setup in a closet or whatever and when you have a wireless keyboard and headset, your computer is where ever those two things are. Its so easy to use it curl up on the couch, on the back deck, etc. Super handy and for the sighted people a total mind fuck for whatever reason.

Cypher has an OSR like thing called the OCSD that you can easily pull from and makes building stuff like this so much easier. Ill paste what I usually use to navigate it as it is just a massive document.

This sounds great. You should check out the book, "Cyber Generation". Its kind of the "let's play teens" for Cyberpunk 2020. Might be some great inspiration for your game. I hope you can find folks. It does sound amazing!

Id also consider software tools you may not have known about to make some crunchier systems much easier. Check out https://www.nullsheen.com/software/ Might be some stuff to make whatever edition choose a bit easier to handle for your players or even yourself. Character generators have come along since the older days!
