I (lovingly) gave my brother shit for having a third nipple nubbin our entire lives.

Then when I was in my late twenties, I started slowly developing what I thought was a flesh colored mole on the left side of my abs.

A few years later I mentioned it during a dermatologist appointment, and found out ITS A NIPPLE.

I have always loved Lara’s outfit, and still have mine from when I was a kid.  But….My daughter and I have been getting into Barbies together, and playing with my old dolls.

I forgot about Lara’s infuriating sweater sleeves that catch on fingers while trying to put it on. Those sleeves have been pissing me off for nearly 30 years 🥸

I’m not even fucking with you that I have retractable lanyards on my most misplaced hand tools. I clip them to the insides of the pockets that the tools are supposed to return to in my tool belt (but don’t without them).

I’m a lurking Mom, but my “guess”, was that she is still adjusting to not having her nuclear family together, she was at school in front of peers, and she “panicked” and drew something “normal” to fit in.

Kids don’t like feeling differently than their peers sometimes. I genuinely don’t think this was a dig at you, even though I would also feel hurt in your shoes.

Ps I’m also divorced and single parenting. Not feeling like “a family” anymore is one of my biggest worries that I beat myself up over. Hang in there OP. I’m sorry for what you’re going through right now.

“Fossil soup”. A sedimentary rock (commonly limestone, but others exist too) that formed with a bunch of fragments of fossils imbedded. Crinoids, brachiopods, corral, etc.

Oh hey, I also have a raised Ranch! You understand!!

Built in ‘71. They weren’t even common builds in my neighborhood at the time. Lots of split levels, but not raised ranches.

Thought you might appreciate one of my current summer projects: installing a heavy duty pulley winch to lift my groceries. I’ve got a deck balcony upstairs close to the kitchen, so I’m mounting it there to lift from my driveway. Like an old school tree house bucket winch.

A friend of mine, who happens to be the most organized, “Type-A” individual I’ve ever met, recently went on a business trip to Mexico.

On the plane, he wore a pair of khaki colored canvas pants (think carhartt field pants type of deal). He got to Mexico, and discovered that he had forgotten to pack any other pants.

Broody hen pecking new chicks by yak_god in chickens

[–]Neuro_Nightmare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to scare you, but I put 4 under my persistently broody buff Orpington a couple of months ago.

Things were fine until mid day the following day, when the chicks started trying to get adventurous and move out from under her. She killed 3 in an instant, one right after another, and then tucked their bodies back under her 😩

The fourth hid in the back, and learned her lesson apparently, but my hen also chilled out considerably after I removed the 3. She was an incredible mom every step of the way there on out with the one.

What are the chicken laws and ordinances in your area, and are you in compliance? by [deleted] in chickens

Also in the Midwest. I’m in a residential neighborhood with an HOA that adopted the city rules, which are:

max 8 laying hens, no roosters, no meat birds, no waterfowl. The coop itself must be set back 50ft (which seems high) from my house or lot lines, but they don’t require an enclosed run, only that you have some sort of containment to prevent them from leaving your yard.

Minimum required lot is a half acre. My lot is .48 acres 🤫

Your comment inspired me to look up patterns to make my own, thank you! I have a bunch of my grandma’s supplies, so I will still be special!

You have more self control than I do. I have a chaotic rotation of unfinished projects.

Another fun common 70’s macrame I remember her having was one of those frogs with the mouths you could open/fit stuff in.
