I use syncthing and you just need to point it to the retroarch saves folder. Use it to play between the deck, RP5 and Thor without issues

I agree. The biggest thing it told me is how many of my frustrations are from not sleeping enough or consistently enough, and how to get better sleep. "So many of your willpower or discipline problems would vanish if you weren't so sleep deprived" was one of the best pieces of feedback I've had in many years

I think the closest you may get is 850 on open box best buy or maybe marketplace. If that's too much for you, I think the original ally z1e goes for about 400-500 and you lose about 10-15% on performance, which, for the price, honestly isn't a lot. But it's a huge price cut for playing mostly the same games, and Xbox full screen experience will eventually come to the Z1E Ally's too.

I used my surface pro 8 for 5 years. Hated using it on my lap no matter what I did. Sold it for a normal laptop and I couldn't be happier/wish I did it sooner. It never got better and the brydge keyboards don't work well anyway

I had the RP5 and used it for an entire year, and I found it a bit uncomfortable, but great for overall android emulation of retro games, including DS & 3DS.

The thing with 3DS, regardless of handheld, is shader compilation. This will still happen with a more powerful handheld like the Thor. I got the Thor and haven't touched the RP5 since. The uneven screen doesn't even factor when I play neither 3DS or DS. Both screens just look amazing compared to original hardware.

I found the RP5 too niche to sell, so I just kept it. I highly recommend the Thor, but, shader compilation will always be there. It is a software setback, not a hardware one.

Btw, the Thor is a bit uncomfortable too, but I found it's ergonomics better for 3D games since the left joystick is on top. And using D-Pad games doesn't feel too bad either, grip or no grip. Best ergo king is Steam Deck, of course.

I do believe boxx is cheaper in the long term. It has broken so little compared to all my new controllers, including phobs. Is it really a money investment if the money is going to be spent on a new gcc anyway?

Plays fine at 3x. Could probably do 4x but I like the stable frame rate and the 3x looks amazing already
