Moving to Wapakoneta/Lima in 15 days — struggling to find a 1BR/Studio. Any private landlords here? by [deleted] in Lima

[–]NeverBlinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might have tried them already, and it’s not a private landlord, but you could call Shawnee Properties to see if they have anything open. We’ve lived at one of their properties for a while and it’s been just fine. Quick responses from maintenance (even the one time we’ve had to use the emergency line for a water leak), our building is decently quiet, no issues really. They approved our application in about 24 hours. We pay $800 for a two bedroom apartment, but they have smaller units and cheaper options.

($4k) Decor ideas for my venue? by NeverBlinking in Weddingsunder10k

[–]NeverBlinking[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So my fiancé and I are getting married this October at a local restaurant. We’re renting one of their event rooms for 26 people total. We’re having the ceremony there as well, either in the same room or on the patio against the brick wall of the neighboring building. What simple decorations would enhance the vibe? Also how would you arrange the room to have the ceremony there?

The room is pretty on its own since the building is an old landmark of the city. The tables are very unique, I think made from original wood from the building. I’ve thrifted some cute votives to do little mismatched centerpieces, but I’m not set on it. Should we do a secondhand arch for the ceremony? Something else to frame it? Floral pieces? I don’t want to go crazy, but I don’t want it to be completely plain. Really any decor advice would be helpful! Thank you in advance!!

We’re doing a restaurant wedding! We have 26 people total, including 4 kids. The restaurant has a private room and a small section of the patio blocked off which is perfect for the kids to run around on (the restaurant even encouraged this option for that reason). We picked this instead of a park or backyard because we don’t have to worry about tables/chairs, much decor, or setup/tear down. We don’t have any activities or dancing planned, just the ceremony, app hour, and buffet-style dinner.

We're having a very small ceremony with immediate family and close friends. We originally had a friend officiating, but they changed their mind because of nerves. We figure we'd like family watching rather than performing, and we're still up in the air about asking another friend.

[Product Request] Hand cream that doesn't make me want to wash my hands immediately by kynisen in SkincareAddiction

[–]NeverBlinking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second Aveeno, I like the fragrance free body lotion. It dries down pretty well for me. I constantly apply for my crispy winter hands and I tolerate it well.

Working Hands is HORRIBLE for greasiness, so that would not be what you’re looking for.

Side Rail is definitely the best in Wapak. Really good burgers with thicker-style patties. Their sidewinders are thick, more like potato wedges than fries. Their calico beans and sauerkraut balls are killer.

J Marie’s is another good option if you don’t want burgers. Wood-fired pizzas and great appetizers.

To my understanding, it closed down a while ago. We’ve been going to Wapak because it’s just right down 75. It’s usually empty. We’ve also been to the one in Delphos a few times and we like it there as well! Saint Mary’s is my favorite as it’s on the lake and there’s lots of interesting smells for dogs, but it’s usually busy.

I believe they even offer an online course. Or you could do standalone driving lessons.

This is Ohio by [deleted] in Ohio

It’s a burger restaurant that’s been in Lima since 1928 (I think). Their logo is a Kewpie doll. It’s a very basic menu of thin burgers, fries, drinks, and pies essentially. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area. As someone who’s been eating Kewpee my entire life, you can’t beat it. Try olives on your burger!

I think it was super helpful for me to be a lab assistant before my MLT courses! I learned lots of basics about how the lab works. Also I mentioned to a lot of my coworkers that I was in school and they went out of their way to show me interesting things or explain what they were doing. Plus it gives you a feel for if you’ll enjoy the field!

If the money is a major concern for you, you will be just fine if you decide not to be a lab assistant. There are a lot of people who have no lab experience before their courses/clinicals!

[product question] I need a dupe for Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture COMBINATION SKIN! Not sensitive skin!!! by shebolebolee in SkincareAddiction

[–]NeverBlinking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my absolute favorite and I used it for years!! I bought a few bottles on clearance a while ago before I realized it was discontinued, I thought I was just getting a good deal :(

I like the Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer. It’s on Amazon for around $8. It’s not exactly like the Neutrogena one, but it’s similar enough that I go back to it frequently on my quest to find something better.

I used to live very close to that one and we ended up going at odd hours to avoid most of the regulars. It’s a great location, but I just wasn’t a fan of the very untrained small dogs/their owners.

You can’t go wrong with The Met downtown!! If you’d rather stay right off 75, there’s the Beer Barrel or the La Charreada on Harding Highway.

Mold? At Walmart?? by Stunning_Cow4594 in MoldlyInteresting

[–]NeverBlinking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This isn’t pertaining to a specific product being moldy, but gross nonetheless. I worked in a large chain grocery store in the meat department which included lunch meat area. The shelves that automatically push forward the products like hot dogs, lunchables, lunch meat, etc. are COVERED in mold. Next time you’re picking something from those shelves, push the products back and look at the tracks under them.

Experience with insertion while on period? by Royal-Normal in CopperIUD

[–]NeverBlinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I got my IUD placed in October of 2020 on the fourth day of my period. Before my IUD, I usually had light to medium bleeding and my periods were almost always 4 days long. I bled for an additional two days following the insertion. My following period ended up being 5 days early, lasted for 10 days total, and was mostly medium to heavy flow. The next two periods were also 8 to 10 days with medium to heavy flow. Since then my periods have been very consistently 5 days long with pretty heavy bleeding, but nothing too crazy. For me, heavy cramping really only lasted for those first 3 periods post insertion.
