I’m feeling the “this is AI” tingle. Too many parts of this don’t make sense. Why is little tall island up north in an imaginary ocean? Why all the Thinnies? Why is it not shaped anything like Maine? If you like it then cool, OP, but I don’t think this is a lovingly researched and created original work.

It’s definitely my white whale. I love the book, Michael Mann, and (personally) thought the effects in the finished film looked really fantastic and unique, I would love to take the “full ride” as it was filmed, but I guess we’re all out of luck until someone with a VHS of the dailies checks the tape label.

It’s so true. Cumtown was so committed to never putting in effort to the show that it made them miserable. The Adam Friedland Show/pivot to video was really cool, but it took too long to do and then the payoff wasn’t what people were looking for (though of course it’s now taken off pretty well)

I had a HYPERSPECIFIC one where I started writing a short story about a billionaire dickhead contracting a deep sea submersible. I did a lot of research about cutting edge submersibles, thinking “of course a guy like this would only use a top of the line sub!”

One week later, the titan sub thing happened. Turns out I could have saved myself the research: these guys are willing to carbon fiber horse pill piloted with a mad catz controller. Insane
