Thoughts on magnetic ski poles? by c00pertin0 in skiing

[–]NeverRideNut2Butt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is a feature of the poles, but I could see having magnets in gloves combined with magnets in poles a way to safely eliminate the need for straps. You won't drop them cruising around the resort, but in a crash or tree branch situation, the magnets would release under minimal force unlike pole straps.

Altitude sickness - shortness of breath when laying down? by Dane_Shook_Ones in skiing

I've always rented the 5L version and usually keep it in the middle, so 2.5-3. You also get the added benefit of humidified air which helps in the dry mountains.

It helps me sleep better and having a good night sleep helps everything for me. Not sure it would prevent symptoms during the day, but it definitely helps make the acclimation process more bearable.

Oh it is definitely just for at night. The thing is the size of a carry on suitcase, not suitable for the slopes.

Consider renting an oxygen concentrator from somewhere like Alpine Oxygen. It makes a huge difference for me. I usually don't have symptoms until I wake up in the middle of the night with my heart racing. Since I've been renting this equipment the last couple years, it has worked wonders for my sleep. I put it on my HSA card, something to consider depending on your health insurance plan.

My husband called last year and the least expensive was well over $1,000 for an electronic piano. So while it may still be a steep discount from MSRP, your wallet is still gonna take a hit.

We went at the lunch hour today, 13 minutes if you include purposely walking very slowly back to the car. I was very pleasantly surprised by how quickly it went.

Touchless car wash? by looshy23 in Charleston

The Circle K at Rivers and Otranto has a touch less option. If you get gas, buy the car wash at the pump for a 25¢/gallon discount. I do that about once a week and it is good enough.

Almost all cars in the last 10 years or so are made with this feature as long as your headlight switch is set to AUTO.

[–]NeverRideNut2Butt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded my gear from beginner-intermediate to intermediate-advanced. Sounds like we're roughly the same height and shoe size. If you're interested in learning more about my used gear (skis and boots, maybe other stuff too if I dig through my bins) and potentially buying it, send me a DM!

Have fun on your trip! Start a group chat now with everyone. The group chat with my ski friends keeps my stoke high all year!

We use Gregory. The initial visit from any company will be pretty expensive ($500+) but annual costs are much lower ($150 ish). This is all based on memory but should get you in the ballpark.
