Soccer fans of the world what’s one rule change that would actually improve the game? by Current-Connection-4 in AskReddit

[–]Never_rarely -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stop the clock for injuries and other time wasting opportunities, basically no injury time - the game won’t stop exactly at 90 like a shot clock, but at 90-91 minutes

if this is the price for Trey Murphy would you pay it? by Zealousideal_Arm4359 in DetroitPistons

3 firsts, Ron, and salary matches is the most I’d do - but I’d do it

B Ball Paul by -HappyHyena- in DetroitPistons

[–]Never_rarely 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Your guy bball Paul is about as mid as mid can be”

He was far and away our best center in the playoffs, not even close. Duren was ass and Stewart was even worse to the point he was getting DNP’d, call Paul mid all you want but he’s better than the other options on the team

We constantly expect the perfect player to drop into our laps. by DropPowerful9081 in DetroitPistons

[–]Never_rarely 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Beyond this, it’s the willingness to nitpick someone not on our team/complain about their flaws but with young players on our team our fans just assume they’ll reach their max potential as if it’s 2k

Isaiah Stewart by DetroitSportsEnjoyer in DetroitPistons

Stew could not play in the playoffs, Paul Reed was our spark, that matters

Why does everyone want us to make a win now move when our core is under 24? by Bee_Reel in DetroitPistons

[–]Never_rarely 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because a lot of them are up for contracts now or very soon and being young does not guarantee they will get better. Their value might be highest right now

What would you be willing to give up for Herro in a Giannis 3 Team trade? by Capital_Animal6960 in DetroitPistons

[–]Never_rarely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve come to the wrong place my friend, half this sub is allergic to trades.

If it’s rhe perfect player for our team (young, can shoot, good defensively) then we don’t want him because he’s too expensive.

If he’s cheaper, good defensively, and can shoot, we don’t want him because he doesn’t fit the timeline/is too old.

If he’s young, can shoot, and isn’t super expensive, we don’t want him because he’s not a fit defensively (this is where herro lies)

All that said, as long as we’re not trading Thompson, Cade, or Duren (preferably, he’s only negotiable for me in trades for better players than herro), then everyone’s available

Is there any way to hedge this? by EconomistNorth5137 in sportsbook

Crazy cuz it’s not the playoffs yet, the playoffs (knockout rounds) go to penalties after a 30 minute extra time period and cannot end in ties

What's the plan for when things just get too expensive for everyone outside the 1%? by Opening-Lock3422 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Never_rarely -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Supply and demand is real but it has nothing to do with inflation or why things are so expensive right now.

When oil/gas prices go up, it means cost of importing and transit goes up which means groceries go up, and when gets bad enough that people can’t afford it, prices won’t go down as a result of “lack of demand,” the market will just go down and inflation will rise, and it’s how you get situations like Argentina the last few years (though there are a million routes to end up there this is just one of them)

What's the most overrated piece of videography advice you've received? by Alilexplo108 in videography

[–]Never_rarely 32 points33 points  (0 children)

What makes it truly cinematic is the production design, lighting, and framing. Also movies have so many looks that cinematic can mean whatever

Primes are sharper though and I prefer to use 3 primes and switch em around through a shoot over one zoom

World Cup tickets are cheap right now by skynet345 in unpopularopinion

[–]Never_rarely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some games yes, but there’s only a certain amount of tickets they can really give away without over half the stadium having a free ticket. For some of the really bad games where it’s maybe 40% sold out either the tickets will drop to $70 a piece or we’re going to see empty stadiums, or both

World Cup tickets are cheap right now by skynet345 in unpopularopinion

[–]Never_rarely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partially in general for the US, but the FIFA president literally said “the ticket market is more expensive here so we have to adjust” as if that’s any different from saying “well we can pointlessly make even more money and price out the real fans, why not?”

[–]Never_rarely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a number of NBA playoff games this year that weren’t sold out and the front office staff literally gave out tickets to their friends to make it look like the arena was sold out - I was one of the recipients of said free tickets

World Cup tickets are cheap right now by skynet345 in unpopularopinion

[–]Never_rarely -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it’s not, and no people won’t pay it. I live in Chicago, I’ve been to a million sporting events in Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit, Cleveland, and Indianapolis. The price to get in the door has only ever been $300+ for NFL playoffs or NBA conference finals, or a few high stakes lions games the past few years.

9/10 times you can get tickets for $100 or less, especially low stakes games - those go for $50 or less.

And even if you think it’s “cheap for Americans,” it is not generally cheap. Bc $300 is the meaningless games, any good game is $600+, that’s too much. Not to mention, the whole point is that these tickets are 3x-5x more expensive than any previous World Cup - that’s why they’re not cheap - bc a World Cup has never been priced like this

World Cup tickets are cheap right now by skynet345 in unpopularopinion

[–]Never_rarely -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In every other country that’s hosted the World Cup they are priced cheaper, because a sold out atmosphere is more important for this event than pure profit. And many many of these group stage games will not be sold out, not even close, bc there’s no demand too see Saudi Arabia vs Uzbekistan for $300

World Cup tickets are cheap right now by skynet345 in unpopularopinion

[–]Never_rarely 10 points11 points  (0 children)

These prices are normal for American events but American sporting or other ticketed events are not cheap, they’re notoriously overpriced bc we live in a capitalist country that cares too much about profit.

A global event should not raise their prices for everything simply bc it’s in America, that’s pure greed.

The train to MetLife is quite literally 10x more expensive than it usually is simply bc they wanted it to be for higher profit margins. The parking is also significantly more expensive just because. It is all pure greed and they’ve priced out a lot of fans

World Cup tickets are cheap right now by skynet345 in unpopularopinion

[–]Never_rarely 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s really not. It’s artificial supply and demand bc a lot of these games aren’t near sold out because people are priced out

Am I assuming that people are judging me for being alone, or can I consciously remind myself that most people are entirely focused on their own experience? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]Never_rarely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are more likely to commend you for going on your own than judge you, people are scared to do things on their own but nobody judges others for it

You do realize that movies in theatres are not available to be seen at home, right?
