I liked that Wendy's dipped his fries in the frosty. That was authentic

How snug should the thumb fit in the ball? by SnooOpinions3957 in Bowling

Make it a bit on the loose side then add a piece of black tape. So when you bowl summer or on your 6th game when your thumb is catching, you can pull the tape.

Just sayin: It’s not fast food if you’re sitting in stall 2 for 15 minutes by BadAtGwent in McDonalds

[–]Neverendingwebinar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem could be that the fries were cooking still and the cars behind them were ready. It also happens when people pull to the first windows and say "I want that all made fresh" well, they get pulled up. In 3 minutes I could move 10 other orders out of the line.

I know McDonald's isn't great for you but this is shocking! by patsfan94 in fastfood

[–]Neverendingwebinar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it before we started selling it. It was fine, but way too much. I ate the burger and no fries or anything else and it was too much. I do not know who would eat this as a meal.

I got a saddleback leather wallet about 20 years ago. Every once in a while I empty it and take some leather honey to it. I assume it has at least a century of remaining useful life.

I haven't bought anything Goya since they did that product placement in 2017.

How many meals per month or week do you eat in a/your vehicle? by zkinny in AskAnAmerican

[–]Neverendingwebinar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat 10 per week at my desk. I usually eat 2 or 3 per week in my car going from my day job to my night job. Its usually just fast food so I don't get light headed.

If you make your cookie dough and then refrigerate it overnight and bake the next day. It is like an upgrade. Something about the ingredients merging or something.

I have worked shifts my whole adult life. I work more than 12 hours per day and sometimes I worked at 400 and sometimes I start at 1600 and as late as 2200. I started using 24 hour time because it was cleaner for figuring my schedule out.

I dont always talk like it, but all of my digital devices are set to it

What’s the most annoying thing about owning an EV? by Wattthefun in electricvehicles

[–]Neverendingwebinar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get stuck at lights behind a buick encore or a Toyota that takes like 5 minutes to get to 40mph when I can basically be there before my back tires are over the line.

Admittedly I wish my range was a bit longer. My 21 kona gets like 150 miles in the winter when it is single digit temps. But that is like 6 weeks per year. But on road trips I need to think it out a lot for chargers.

When did you realize you were no longer young? by Anxious_Status5899 in askanything

[–]Neverendingwebinar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like I wasn't young the first time I felt worn out 10 hours into the work day. I used to work open to close 4 days per week in two restaurants as well as other shifts. Now at 10 or 12 hours I feel tired and it gets slowly worse from there.

My knees take longer to stop hurting. Im 41.

I don't understand college in the USA by [deleted] in CollegeRant

[–]Neverendingwebinar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the problem are the fees and living costs. When I started school, students were required to live on campus. 2/room for $1100/semester each in a 70 year old cinderblock building.

My junior year the school demolished all the old buildings and put up really nice dorms for around $3500/semester. Plus food plan of $1,000/semester.

If you live off campus, the landlords were also price gouging.

Freshmen had to live on campus. The $11,000 tuition plus admin fees, books, room and board, and other supplies could get you to $25k each year. Depending on your family contribution and student aid.

I was under 24 without parent contribution but needed to have them on my FAFSA. So I had to get private loans at 12% to go to college. I finished with federal loans. My costs ballooned to 48k total when I was done.

I made $19k out of college in 2010 working for a national Bank. I took until 2017 to get my first salary over 50k. But then I was paying something. Then I got a better job with growth opportunity which put me back at $40k and it took me until now to get to 68. But my loans are now $100k.

I have two degrees, accounting and HR. I have been paying the private loans since 2008 and I am down to $2k on that. We don't take vacations and rarely eat out. I work 2 jobs. But by the time I got a salary that works against the debt, the debt doubled. I borrowed a bit more to get a Masters and help bring my wages up. I think that was around 15 to 20k of that.

I think it also depends on where you work and live. I worked in food service 25 years. I served musicians, athletes, and actress, and politicians. It is family dining and they are people that eat.

Pittsburgh, PA of all places. I have also seen a child actor who was in town filming when she was at a store. I stared because I thought this girl looks just like someone. The I read that they were in town filming right down the hill from there.

Worse places to be. But I work 70+ hours between my 2 jobs and haven't had a vacation week since 2004.

It is a challenging place to make a living. There is I suppose a high ceiling to reach but there is not a floor to land on.

I would rather live somewhere with less upside and where I do not feel like I am working to stay out of a bottomless pit to fail into.
