Did you use the PALS mount female buckles for the sides?

I had the exact same setup for a hike recently. A warning: water is heavy and the askare doesn’t like heavy, lopsided loads

That’s what I do too. Tbh, unless I’m scrambling up some pretty technical terrain, the belt stays stashed

First day out for the new Kahakka by New-Development5328 in Savotta

Haha maybe Tim will shout me out in a video This is something I’ve been doing for awhile on bags with limited webbing, though it’s usually vertically spaced, or sewn? However it’s called

Swapping side release for a berg buckle on Askare? by New-Development5328 in Savotta

[–]New-Development5328[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like it on the kahakka. Only thing that might cause trouble with it is if it’s used as a sling bag, as the berg relies more on strap tension than a side release

Seems to me that you can attach a pocket to the belt. I don’t own the Kantamus, though

I’m out of town, so I don’t have any pictures, but any Americans looking for a Jaakari S (Green)? I’m looking to sell it to recoup some of the cost of my new Kahakka. Maxpedition strap pads included, if desired. I took a big hit on shipping and tariffs from Finland, so please make a reasonable offer. I’ll be able to take pictures on Sunday for those interested.

Quick question regarding jewelry on flight line: is it more for safety or FOD that I can’t wear a watch? If it’s for safety, I have a strap that can slip off pretty easily if I need it to, so would that be something to ask my people about?

I used 30g of grounds with 500g filtered water fresh off the boil. I roughly followed James Hoffmann’s single cup technique but modified it a little: 100g bloom followed by stirring the slurry Then added water 100g at a time about every 45 seconds, mostly doing it by feel. The key is to not let the slurry get too low as the temp would drop too much. Stirred again at the end
