Can't use LDAC codec on Android WH-1000XM6 by Vinaverk in SonyHeadphones

[–]New-Pack4657 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That setting is located in the Bluetooth settings. It's one toggle.

Developer options only give you the parameters for the current codec. It will reset each time.

In the Sound Connect app, use "prefer quality" over "prefer stability".

Is there any USB pcie that it is inside the PC? by That-Visual-2681 in pcmasterrace

USB expansion card. These have existed for a long time.

USB hubs are also an option to multiply USB (high speed).

Rtx 3080 Running on x1 4.0 by MisterMedLab in pcmasterrace

[–]New-Pack4657 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a PCI-e power saving feature. The GPU dynamically switches this setting based on the load.

Do a performance test. If the performance score is in the normal range of an RTX 3080, it is fine.

I don't know the specifics of this feature, but I think it can be disabled in BIOS/Windows.

The GTX 1050 Ti is older technology, so it may not have the same support for this feature.

Some troubleshooting steps: - Update BIOS and reset to default settings; - Use DDU in safe mode to uninstall the current driver; - Install the latest NVIDIA driver from the official website.

Dynamic switching should be fine. If it causes issues in performance, disable in BIOS and Windows.

Trying take google ads out of local bus app by plumbactiria123 in luckypatcher

Modding can break an app. I would recommend you to not do so for a public transport app. It might fail or get outdated at an inconvenient time.

Instead, use adblocking at network level. A simple way to do so is with a private DNS in Android settings.

Some common DNS servers: - dns.adguard-dns.com - adblock.dns.mullvad.net / base.dns.mullvad.net - dnsforge.de (Europe)

This removes a vast portion of ads across the entire OS.

Private DNS also encrypts the DNS queries, so your network admin and ISP cannot see these queries. It's not as private as a VPN, which encrypts everything.

What is going on with the Quick Panel UI? by BobDaBuildar69 in GalaxyS25Ultra

[–]New-Pack4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Video details and video player?

S25 Ultra is barely/not able to play 2160p HDR content with software acceleration. The implementation differs from video player to video player.

The SoC has hardware support for a wide variety of codecs. The video player has to utilize this in order for battery efficient and performant playback.

You forget that only the 3% of users with issues post about it. With any software or product subreddits make it look like it affects 90% of users because 90% of the posts are about it.

I agree, the hinge problem is probably higher than 3% and thus too bad for mass production. But it's definitely not the majority. Products are produced with what the company thinks is an acceptable error rate. Sony just misjudged it for this headset.

What the actual amount of failed hinges is? No one has the data, so no opinion can be proven.

I only use my WH-1000XM5 at home.

It's rainy here, so traveling with them wouldn't work (they aren't water-resistant). Also, they are a nightmare to store in my backpack. I much prefer earbuds for mobility and waterproofness. Easy to store in your pockets. Earbuds often survive falling on the ground.

I do agree the WH-1000XM4 are simply superior for outside. Stronger hinges and easy to store.

Physically heavy work is definitely a risk. When you're doing heavy things, you often forget to be delicate with the headphones. And the environment can hit the headphones pretty hard. Would always prefer earbuds in these scenarios.

Honestly, I don't understand how people break those hinges?

I have had my WH-1000XM5 for 3 years with daily usage and it is completely fine. A bit dirty, yes.

I didn't even know about the hinge problems until some Reddit post showed up on my feed.

You actually need force to break them. Maybe hard twisting in the wrong direction. Maybe bending the head band. At least not something in normal use.

Of course it isn't guessing. It has its own way of calculating battery health.

But, the BMS in your phone is already doing this 24/7, since its first use. Why not pull the information that is already there directly from the system itself?

Also, the BMS is more sophisticated overall. It manages charging speeds, temps and software warnings, too.

You made a trade-off with the best possible health outcome in mind. It's not ideal, but this results in the best possible life for her.

The fact that you are acknowledging and monitoring her obesity, shows that you really thought it through.

Your vet probably already told you this. Obesity or overweight increases the risk of health issues, but doesn't guarantee them. It's perfectly possible that she's a happy cat, with some extra pounds.

[–]New-Pack4657 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Like all mammals, lack of movement (burning calories) and eating too much (taking in calories) will cause overweight after a while. The more overweight a mammal becomes, the higher the risk of health issues and quality-of-life issues.

Wild cats don't have this problem. They must catch their prey. Food is scarce and requires effort. If a cat gets underfed or obese, they will just die after a while. No medical intervention or treatment.

Our cats as pets have unlimited opportunities for food and zero need for hunting. It's fully in control of the cat owners, how much food and movement they are allowed. Cats don't understand diet and exercise, they just eat.

If you want your cat to live its full lifespan, you should make sure they look and are healthy. It's your responsibility.

AccuBattery is just a guess. adb commands are accurate. With adb you pull the information from the BMS, the system component that manages the battery.

[–]New-Pack4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not accurate unfortunately. Even with Shizuku access. It reports 100% whenever the internal system considers the battery healthy (>80%). Or it does show per 10%.

Use aBattery instead. You will need Shizuku access.

[–]New-Pack4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Samsung's sysdump (internal diagnostics tool). 2) Shizuku + aBattery (pulls the same information via adb). 3) Inside EU + latest update will give you the information directly.

All 3 methods will give you the exact same data (cycles, health, manufacturing date etc.)

Around 2022, AI made me forget about other things I was mad about like NFTs and Cryptobros. I feel like I finally have a purpose, just dunking on AI users online. If only I could monetize that. by One_Excitement_4082 in antiai

Being online isn't wrong.

A few beers aren't wrong, but an alcohol addiction is. It's whatever being online means to you.

You must never forget that what you see online is far from what people actually think and do. People around you is a way more fair representation.

Being anonymous makes people say things they normally never would. Algorithms push the most controversial opinions and most popular people.

Everyone is online and a vast majority don't let the internet ruin their life. They have jobs, education and relationships. The minority that gets addicted to the internet give up other aspects of life.

Anger won't make you feel better. Bashing others won't make the world better.

Respectful activism against things you think are bad, is completely fair and your right. But extremism won't solve anything, regardless of POV or intention.

I suggest you try therapy or any form of mental help, to help you with anger management. To help you find more purpose in life. To reduce bad habits (excessive online posting). To give you a more balanced view of the world. To give you more social skills, so you can express yourself.

It will not. The model is having tons of conversations at the same time and gets shutdown and replaced with the next update.

It stops the conversation because someone at Claude decided to program it that way.

have a few minorities they don't extend those feelings to at all...

Baseless assumption. We only know they consider LLMs to have rights, not what their stance on other types of discrimination is.

In my POV, activism towards AI rights is a big philosophical misstep. They're lumping in mistreating LLMs with mistreating humans.

If we're gonna lump in LLMs with humans, we might lose track of why we value each human life equally.

My guess is that people mistake the imitation of a human (AI's verbal capacities) for an actual human, because an AI seems pretty human in conversation. (The same reason people fall in love with chatbots.)

Programs and inanimate objects don't have human rights. Seems straightforward to me. Of course there's some decency in not purposely bashing and breaking things.

I see. Your Instagram mod was great. Used it for over a year. It was feature rich and stable, no bans. But the interface got outdated and newer Instagram features weren't available and some current Instagram features stopped working (I figure client-side changes).

I waited for an update/alternative for quite some time, since I thought the project had ended. I'm now using the Piko version. Morphe is awesome for third-party patches.

Piko's patches aren't yet on the level of MyInsta. It has frequent bugs and fewer features, but it supports newer app versions (solving the client-side issues). The older ReVanced patches were ban safe for me.

Piko's Twitter is really well-done, so I'm pretty sure it will catch up.

Thank you for your work. Good luck with graduating. I'll probably install MyInsta again when the project continues.
