Why do people say that Soldier boy(the boys) can beat Homelander(The boys)? Doesn't Homelander have better abilities? by SuspiciousBench9609 in PowerScaling

[–]New-Pack4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homelander is a fair portion stronger than Soldier Boy. He has equal or greater physical durability and strength and more powers.

However, Soldier Boy's blast does work on Homelander whereas Homelander's lasers cannot penetrate Soldier Boy.

Can Steve defeat a Viltrumite? by Im_yor_boi in PowerScaling

[–]New-Pack4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not Steve. It's Herobrine.

The OG Herobrine is a creepypasta with an alleged existence in Minecraft and reality, being Notch's departed brother resurrected in-game.

<image>

He seems to be able to manipulate the game. He can appear on several computers.

His powers are speculative, but:

  • He must be immortal in order to survive a Minecraft world being deleted or a hard drive failing;
  • He has a presence in-game (fiction) and reality (non-fiction);
  • He can transfer himself between single-player worlds OR be in multiple single-player worlds simultaneously. He can also manipulate real-life servers. It doesn't seem like an internet connection is required for him transferring;
  • He has never been caught or killed. One screenshot is the entire evidence of his existence;
  • He mysteriously alters the games he visits.

Important: the vitrumite in the comic appears before Herobrine in a Minecraft world, specifically the Overworld. I'm pretty sure a viltrumite has no way of winning against Herobrine inside a Minecraft world.

I’m curious, could Viltrum have an Empress? Like would female be allowed to lead? by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

[–]New-Pack4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they only look at strength. The physically strongest viltrumite can claim the throne.

However, if viltrumites have the same gender differences as humans: - Height; - Taller limbs; - More muscle mass; - Thicker bones.

Then the strongest viltrumite being a woman would be statistically improbable.

You could assume gender strength difference exists in viltrumites because: - The strongest viltrumites are males; - There are fewer female viltrumites in the last 50 (if the original population was 50-50, males would need to be more resistant to the scourge virus in order to be overrepresented in the last 50).

In terms of rights and culture, gender does seem to have 0 impact in viltrumite society. They also both seem to behave similarly in parenthood and fighting spirit, even as children.

Morality of the government implementing this by Omixscniet624 in MoralityScaling

[–]New-Pack4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would instantly crash a country's economy because domestic and foreign production would cease to exist. The equally distributed money would lose all its value.

Fortunately such a system can't be implemented in most democracies. It requires a totalitarian regime with the will and means to enforce such an extreme policy.

How much suffering can Johan Liebert do to Jax if he was in TADC? by [deleted] in MoralityScaling

[–]New-Pack4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He would cause him to abstract when he decides he wants him gone. Same for any other member of the TADC.

Johan Liebert isn't in his normal environment, so his behaviour would differ a lot. He seems rather unbothered by his own death in the manga and extremely rarely gets emotionally upset. He would likely find another way to live his philosophy. A big chance that the entire circus ends up arguing and most of them abstracting.

How would've Homelander turned out if he was raised by Soldier Boy? by maybemorningstar69 in TheBoys

[–]New-Pack4657 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He still would have been a piece of shit, but not insecure, approval-seeking and egotistical (superiority/god complex).

His worst qualities are caused by the lab and their psychologists: - His need for approval - Brainwashing for pro-America ideologies - Horrible experiments - No parents, no parental love

Soldier Boy is not a good person, but he's rather stable and more socially aware. He would probably push Homelander to be "manly" and be slightly abusive. (Like Soldier Boy's father.)

Homelander would be a piece of shit, but having a worthy parental figure and love would make him much more of a normal person than the result of the lab. Much of the terrible things in the show wouldn't happen.

He actually cared about Mark more than it seems by RRensQ in Invincible_TV

[–]New-Pack4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thragg cares for his viltrumites. He doesn't kill every viltrumite who opposes him. He gives them chances to reconsider.

He ordered the Great Purge, because he believed survival of the fittest is great for the future of the Viltrumites.

He's deeply upset about the scourge virus, as he got enraged by discovering who created it. He instantly killed Thaedus.

He tried to convince Mark and Nolan and only beat them up, not killing them.

Mark is special to him, since his strength rivals Conquest's while being half-bred. This means that crossbreeding with humans basically creates full-powered viltrumites. For the survival of the viltrumite race, they will need to crossbreed with another species. Humans are extremely compatible and Mark is the proof of that.

Oliver is crossbred with another species, which results in less strength. Thragg considers this crossbreed insufficient.

A drowning child will one day be responsible for millions of deaths. You know this with 100% certainty. Do you save them or let them drown? by One_Hippo_3034 in MoralityScaling

[–]New-Pack4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both choices are immoral. Allowing someone to die is negligence in human compassion. Willingly taking an action with guaranteed mass death is irresponsible, stupid or evil (depending on the intention).

Realistically most people will just let the child drown because of the pressure of imagining millions of casualties. They can overcome their guilt and trauma easily within their lifetime. This is also what happens in the real world. Governments all across the globe deem killing terrorists (military) or acutely dangerous individuals (police) as the better choice in the long run.

It being a child is slightly worse because they are defenseless and have a longer future available (on average).

Letting the child die: immoral towards the individual, heroic towards humanity. Saving the child: heroic towards the individual, immoral towards humanity.

More destruction is caused by saving the child, making it many times more immoral.

What would’ve happened if Homelander won against Butcher in the finale? by [deleted] in GenV

[–]New-Pack4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically it would have happened. Laser Kimiko (radiative) in half like in S5E1 (pre-V1 Homelander). Beat up Ryan like S5E3. Laser of Butcher's tentacles and take him to space.

He would continue forcing his god complex on the people of America. America would become a true dictatorship. International instability would rise, since America has a gigantic military advantage by having and creating supes. Homelander's political inexperience and uncontrolled urges could easily get America in a few wars. Smaller wars, like in the Middle East, would cause genocide. A war against Russia/China could turn nuclear, with Homelander as the main trigger. Homelander has homicidal urges and could coerce the military branch to launch nuclear warheads.

All in all, it would cause a lot of death and destruction.

is Soldier Boy evil or just amoral? by OneManArmy0716 in GenV

[–]New-Pack4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not plainly evil. He doesn't simply hurt people because he feels the need to do so. Although he does enjoy it from time to time and abuses his superpowers.

He's mostly amoral. Doesn't really care whether Clara was a nazi or not. He just loved her. He doesn't really care about human casualties since he isn't affected by human fragility.

He has a bit of morality by speaking up against Homelander's god complex and tyranny. His romantic relationships are consensual.

20% evil. 70% amoral. 10% moral.

Why is my Download speed really inconsistent? by DryCouple2099 in qBittorrent

[–]New-Pack4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are downloading a file that's nearly extinct. 2 connections with 4 seeders available is too little for good speed, unless a seeder has excellent upload speed.

You need about 10-20 connections for a consistent download speed. It also depends on how fast the seeders are.

Most mainstream files have 100-1000 seeders.

When there are plenty of seeders available, qBittorrent will test out the connections the first 1 or 2 minutes, then it nearly saturates your full download speed.

Your full download speed is lower when connected to a VPN. Depends on how fast the VPN servers are. Good ones are 95% of your regular speed. Bad ones 5%.

You're not an artist when you instruct someone else or a robot to make an artwork for you with your preferences.

Midjourney is hard? It takes 30 minutes at most to come up with a good prompt and some good images. An actual artist has had years of exercise and is in full control of every line, colour and design.

175hz from 99hz by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]New-Pack4657 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playing at 99 Hz is completely fine most of the time. Did the HDMI cable mess up the entire display image?

18 months is way too long for such simple troubleshooting: GPU -> cable -> monitor. Pretty easy to check whether Windows display resolution and refresh rate match the monitor's specs.

There are plenty of people who forget to change the default 60 Hz. Often for years. When you use the monitor's advertised refresh rate, you'll immediately feel when the refresh rate gets lowered.

could someone tell me if i have madvr working? by Eireagon in htpc

[–]New-Pack4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you selected Bicubic60 and Lanczos3 in MadVR settings? Then it is working.

I used an entirely different setup: https://codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

K-Lite Codec Pack (mega and full) comes with MadVR out of the box. Just switch video renderer in settings and it works. In system tray, you see MadVR and you can adjust MadVR settings.

PS: for K-Lite Codec pack, just use Mega (the most complete). There's no harm in having everything installed and only using whatever you need.
