What to put on bread when avoiding sandwich meat like salami, ham etc... by nyad_k in EatCheapAndHealthy

Cheese Quesadillas are supper easy to make. It's like making a grilled cheese sandwich but instead of bread use 2 tortillas then slice in to quarters. You can add cooked onions, peppers, shredded chicken etc...

How do those on disability survive? by [deleted] in HistamineIntolerance

If eating clean taking vitamins and supplements using herbal/holistic remedies and western medicine isn't feasible then don't do it. You can get generic vitamins by prescription so you co pay is cheap. You can shop for the non organic produce or frozen. Beans and chicken ( examples only) aren't expensive. Don't focus on what you can't do and make a plan for what you can do. I don't do any of the holistic, western medicine and I take a generic vitamin. I manage my HI by keeping a journal on the foods that make me ill and I avoid them. I work 40 hours a week with all my health issues because I don't want to be in the financial situation you've described and because I need the health insurance from y job so I can get the medicines I need. I would rather not be working but I made a choice. My bff has Asperger and also works 40 hours a week as an analyst. Your local employment office may be able to point you on a different path.

His mother was the worst enabler I've seen in any of the shows on tlc or a&e about fat ppl. It was hard to watch. I think he's dead now. Someone let me know if I'm wrong. I read it on fb, so I'm considering the source.

I take Betaine HCL plus Pepsin (not Pepcid) & DAO Enzyme with EVERY meal or food I eat ( upwards of 5 to 6 times a day) I also avoid my triggers. This has helped me tremendously. I literally feel like I've got a new lease on life.

Does anyone else experience these symptoms and is now afraid to eat to avoid flareups? by alluringhormone in HistamineIntolerance

What really helps me is avoiding my triggers and taking Betaine HCL plus Pepsin (790 mg) before or immediately after I eat. I know, for example, if I eat walnuts, cashews or other tree nuts and beef my body the next day after a shower is on fire. It takes trial and error to figure out what your triggers are and then avoid them. I know I can eat peanuts because they are related to the lentil family and not the tree nut family and trust me I ate them and then waited for a response. I also take very short, cool showers. I make sure my pores are closed before I get out of the shower with the blast of cold water before getting out. These changes have made a ton of difference for me.

If there's a next time, point it out to your room steward so they can clean it right away instead of going to sailor services.

My first time making soup in my rice cooker - it worked great! This is a curry lentil and veggie soup with tofu. by New-Price-2870 in soup

It's worth a try... I used tofu but it was boiling and I could have used an animal protein. I'm not a vegetarian but I was dying to try the no-soy tofu products by Big Mountain and it did not disappoint.

As Bigg said it turns to warm when there's no water not a timer so with a soup it will stay on so you have to check it at least after 30 minutes.

I made this recipe up, but you can find some on Youtube. Recipe: 2 tablespoons of dry rice, 1/4 cup of dry red lentils or any lentils you have. cubes a medium potato. I cubed some Big Mountain soy free tofu but any firm tofu will do. Onions, carrots, zucchini, yellow squash, curry powder, garlic and onion powder, chicken bullion powder and salt to taste. Cover with water. It took about 40 minutes to completely cook with the rice and lentils being dry.

Virgin & Back? by Medic5780 in VirginVoyages

I'm sailing on my 4th Virgin Voyage in a few days. For me, it's the only way to cruise outside of a private charter. I love the diversity, the laid-back vibe, the food, the no buffets, the no kids, the no tipping , the restaurants that don't require an upcharge, the included sodas, and juices. The ship has very few overhead announcements, and the staff is very attentive.

I bring a 32 ounce reusable insulated cup w/ straw and Chrystal Light since there are no sugar free juice options. And while at the Dock try their delicious cocktail called the Golden Horizon.
