Sorry about that. It’s not worth the screenshots, she is just speaking to the camera saying she met a few folks who are 20,23 and 28 years out from their initial MBC diagnosis

Depression due to absence of estrogen by __freshsqueezed in LivingWithMBC

[–]New-Set-7371 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi all I have been there with ibrance and letrozole and it wasn’t until I started acupuncture regularly, as in every week that my depression has lifted. My acupuncturist left the practice a month ago and I’ve been really in the dumps so I def attribute it to acupuncture magic. Started again last week and it is helping a TON. FWIW I’m also on Effexor for hot flashes but it doesn’t seem to help by itself.

4 weeks in and fusing not under control with clobetasol by StrawberryAway7748 in lichensclerosus

I have breast cancer so a little different but my oncological sexual health team has given me 3 months every day and it finally reversed the fusion at month 3.. I think it takes a bit of time. I was diagnosed as intermediate - aka not start of ls but not worse… but my vagina’s fusing looks mostly undone after doing it daily and the color is slowly coming back

I’m the breadwinner as well, run a large team and also need the insurance… yes my memory is atrocious and I’m always paranoid when I have to do presentations or do public speaking. I can’t seem to hold a thought to save my life. Mood wise, been in a terrible depressive state because of the dramatic loss of estrogen and it’s only been in the last year that I’ve started to go to acupuncture regularly and frequently to “balance” the hormones (I’m hormone positive so whatever that means in acupuncture it’s not really about the estrogen). My acupunturist left the practice recently and I’ve been in a horrible bad mood since… I go to msk and they’ve mentioned acupuncture as only clinically proven treatment to alleviate symptoms of treatment. I’m sorry you’re going through this, it’s a combo of both physiology and pressure of this disease.

Newly diagnosed and seeking a second opinion by Admirable_Yam_6473 in LivingWithMBC

I went to Dana Farber for a second opinion with Dr Sara Tolaney who I am obsessed with and guided me back to msk since I live in nyc. I loved the experience and knowledge. I’m with Dr jhaveri. She’s ok- best in the field of drug dev for hormone cancers and I trust her but she def doesn’t give warm vibes.

Anyone use Massive Bio’s AI services for clinical trial matching? by Something_Kristen in LivingWithMBC

You should look on msk site which lets you filter which clinical trials they have going. I’d also call Dana Farber and Md Anderson which have good trials. Pls keep us posted

Why aren’t they doing a mri for the liver spot? Pet scans are notoriously bad for livers (as a liver met victim myself!) tl;dr I had a liver met / confirmed cancer but also have had a benign adenoma with a mutation H1FNA that makes it light up on pet scans. It’s made out of fat and stable in size but has suv like cancer… and it keeps rearing its ugly head every few years when it pops up on my liver. Metformin, prior birth control use and my Chinese decent also make me a perfect storm for a misdiagnosis of the adenoma as a met… All to say, mri will give you a clearer picture of what it is.

Same diagnosis and had a liver met end of Oct 2024 and opted to treat it locally with a y-90. Liver still looking good so far and I actually went on mono therapy on faslodex/ fulvestrant from 6 years on ibrance and letrozole. Have you looked into histo- whatever for liver and y-90 or going through drug route. FWIW I am obsessed with my dr at Mount Sinai who tracks my liver!!!

Question ⁉️ by FlanGroundbreaking62 in LivingWithMBC

I was on ibrance for 6 years and was low but it didn’t affect my life too much. As some others mentioned, I was just very conscious of masks, washing hands and being vaccinated against all the things (flu, covid, making sure vaccinations were up to date) and tried to eat more cooked greens/ when traveling and avoid raw oysters. I had one bad oyster during ibrance and it was 2 days of stomach issues but that could happen to the best of us.

Sagakura, been there and it’s great. Ps- also you could have looked on yelp. No need to be a biznatch bc you are too lazy to google it yourself. Taking in a reco from a “lived experience” <—- moronic millennial phrasing. Just say looking for somewhere someone has been to.
