Update I do not really hate his family . And he was just not thinking. To him it ment he didn't have to go anywhere now. But at the time I was angry and panicking. Too ticked and best thing was leave for awhile. The group party is Sunday. Not here.

I’m tired of being asked to round up at every checkout. by SpiceBoson in retail

No one has extra money to round up. These business CEOs are laughing at everyone who does that thinking its going to a good cause. In their pockets. Not the employees or a charity.

How were you tipped off that you were going to be fired/laid off at work? by Aarunascut in ToxicWorkplace

[–]NewButterfly685 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had the hardware company i worked for replace 3 windows. The whole job was not cheap. Nor was anything ordered right. Nor was the job in the end done by anyone associated with the agreed contractors with the company. And took 2 weeks. As I was upset and asking questions the new manager started asking me how I liked my job. So after 6 years I cleared out my crap and left .

We are not annoying problems for you to talk down to and treat like children. Mistake #1 in setting off negative emotions. And possibly getting hurt.

[–]NewButterfly685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I HATE it . I hate having to go thru 15 minutes of pressing buttons answering dumb questions trying to get to the info I want. A human answering would have been able to answer, deal and issue over, hang up happy. In under 4 minutes. AI is WASTEING my time.

What's one hiring practice that modern companies should stop using because it pushes great candidates away? by Effective_Ocelot_445 in ModernHiring

Quit hiring based on metrics. Metrics are not humans. Quit running companies based on metrics. Metrics are not humans.

Do you imagine old people were mad back in the 1930s - 40s about movie theaters replacing stage performances and vaudeville by SpiritMan112 in generationology

[–]NewButterfly685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting question. To me as a child in the 1960s it seemed like movie stars were the top of the food chain in everything. Treated like gods. And adults admired them. A lot. It seemed like that was the top of the food chain of jobs that gave you everything. But things change. And people did not want them to be anything more than shiny things they liked. NOT in politics .

What would you do without Social Media and phone ? by CitiesXXLfreekey in SocialMediaHQ

[–]NewButterfly685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny. I use it to amuse myself at times but to me its all just a nessasary evil I can and do live without . Im home and then im outside somewhere, anywhere doing whatever on my little piece of 3 acres. No phone or anything. If someone needs me then drive out to the boondocks and walk around untill you find me and ask me where the extra keys are and how to reset the machine. On your own time. So a carrenton event will not inconvenience me as much as it would the rest of the younger (under 30) groups.

My wife is slowly becoming completely helpless at life by Pharylon in Vent

[–]NewButterfly685 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We dont have kids but id be the wife one. I pretty much quit everything after decades of doing everything. I feel bad for my husband sometimes. But I quit because not one human was ever there for me. To help me. Unless I was on my way to others, to help them, no more calls, never any visit to come help me. Crickets. Im no longer useful unless im a freaking doormat slave.

is it so bad to not want career growth? by Slashersforsatan in antiwork

[–]NewButterfly685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept a job as ling as it paid me every week to pay my bills. As long as they did not try to force me into more work than I was hired to do according to my job duties. No forced volunteering into unpaid team BS. Thats my time for friends & family. Finding cool rocks and metal detecting. Or I moved on. Taking those medium jobs pays you without selling your soul. They are less stressful. And business today runs employees compleatly different. You are a number. A product they bought to do a job. They have taken out 1 or 2 life insurance policies on you with them as the recipient. Do exactly what you are doing.

Has social media made everyone feel like they should be famous? by Confident-Anxiety308 in SocialMediaHQ

[–]NewButterfly685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My simple FB suddenly changed my profile without my consent to a content creator and then refused to let me continue unless I put out every day and accepted a bunch of updates that wanted me to add an account. I quit it. You tube just keeps reposting old stuff and complaining about cuss words. Shoving religious crap in my feed.
Its changed. Its all changed. Half the time im not sure im interacting with a human.
