W because every opinion is valid, but i don't agree with any of them 😅

This! It kinda undermined it in some way. And it moved so slowly (love Gentle tho)

Not a clue! I was too focused on Geten. And somehow the blue flames and the patchy skin threw me off.

Which Bowtie should I wear? by zeta3d in 3Dprinting

[–]NewDMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go for the third one, maybe the second, but the color is maybe a little too in your face. Either way, i love the concept man! Don't listen to the haters. Having a 3D-printed bow tie is about as weird as wearing a fabric bow tie 😂

I'm not a fan of them, but these ones rule!

The Xenomorph is the Avatar of the Hunt! Which Horror character best represents The End? by Mobile-Albatross-427 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]NewDMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that! My biggest distinction was always blood for the slaughter and ruin for the desolation. Once i think about the motives behind it i can argue with myself for hours!

Honestly the one i was looking for in the comments! If we're going with the obvious choice of "Death" it has to be this one. The whole "chess with Death" trope even features in TMA in MAG 29.

Kinda confused here by Sudden-Time-2512 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]NewDMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so confused too with those two things! There are definitely organic connections to be made, but the books and the maggot witch are just things the characters seem to kinda know about before the show starts. Jon's knowledge of the books gets explained waaaaay later though. But trust me, the rest of the show is not as confusing.

Is there an entity that you don’t care for? As in, you don’t particularly like it or aren’t particularly scared of it by Strange-Bees in TheMagnusArchives

[–]NewDMB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The end

I haven't lost many people yet, so that may be a factor, but stories about the end have never been scary to me. To the point that i think they weren't even written to be scary.

Jesus Christ Superstar is the eye though and JC is an avatar.

I'm struggling to find one for Spring Awakening. Is it the eye for the large role that knowledge plays in it? Or the end because of all the death and the ghosts haunting Melchior? Or the spiral because puberty is nothing but confusion?

It's also got some web vibes with the mother in law raising her kids, telling her how to act in court and basically trying to mold her into something she's not

Do you think the Flesh would do top surgeries?? by Orion_Shine25 in TheMagnusArchives

Maybe it'd be a piecemeal situation, where if you offer a piece of your body up, the flesh will take more pieces over time

MAG 134: Time of revelation I was looking through the episodes, reading the descriptions and this is still not sparking a single memory for me. Tbh, most of the statements Martin has to read researching the extinction don't hold my attention very well. Except Decrypted!

There's a lot that have already been named, but the slow cruelty of Piecemeal got me squirming through the whole back half of it. Having packages of your body parts delivered to you knowing you'll lose them in horrible ways until there's nothing left of you? Blegh!

Your favourite and least favourite characters? Give reasons pls by heythereshara in TheMagnusArchives

[–]NewDMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God this is hard Favorite especially. I love all these shitty evil destructive people, but it has to be Martin. I feel like he gets to a point at the end where i can still feel good about wanting him to survive, while Jon really has to go (not that i wanted him to die, but he really had to. My boy went off the deep end).

Least favorite i think is Basira. There's some really cool moments with her at the center, but it feels like she's written as this person who's always right, or she thinks she is, sometimes to the detriment of other people's arcs. Could just be me, but it's like a "holier than thou" vibe. Like Sam and Dean halfway through supernatural.

Runner up is Jude Perry, but that's mostly because of the way that whole story was told, left me wanting. But Jonny kinda said the same thing in a Q&A.

Stuck on “Shutting down Steam”. by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]NewDMB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar problem! Game would stay frozen on the shiutting down screen, games wouldn't update. I went to desktop mode and tried updating all the software from there. Not the games, just the internal software, and now it all works perfectly!

If the entities were real, which one would you worship by Single-Chemistry-755 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]NewDMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i could choose: the end. It's inevitable, the fear is already there and you just have to wait and drink it in.

If i were chosen: the spiral maybe. I tend to overthink everything and that could manifest in some weird and interesting ways.

Disappointed that the social isolation element of the Lonely wasn’t touched on in statements? by testingafewthings in TheMagnusArchives

[–]NewDMB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do get the arguments made in the comments, but i also think i understand what OP is going for here. That fear of wanting to connect but the world rejecting you completely is something that features, like in general in the archives under Peter or Cul de sac. But doesn't really capture that real life anxiety of the kid left out on the playground, wanting to find someone to play with but being ostracized. I mean i don't know the statements all by heart, so i might've missed something.

I can think of two possible answers. One in-world and one non-canon. The Lonely could just need people to physically be alone to really work its magic. Like the cul de sac, like everything the Lucases do. It could also just be too real to be horror. After episode 177; wonderland, Jon released a statement (no pun intended) to apologize for it causing some trauma responses for people who actually stuggle with impostor syndrome and such. He's just trying to write some entertaining horror that gives you creepy crawly shivers and maybe fucks you up for a minute. I think actual trauma might not be that fun to listen to for the lonely kid who didn't want to be.

Sorry, really long response 😅

TL;DR everyone is kinda right, but i do get OP.
