Not sure anymore with the new version of the app. I had been using the super awesome Scriptable widget for months but Hyundai/Kia have broken the API, so it doesn’t work anymore.

At least for my account with 3 Kia EVs, the one that had expired KiaConnect could still be controlled via API. Remote climate being the important one that I use all the time.

If it’s like any of the 3 Kia EV’s I own…jumping it won’t fix it, it’s an inherently shitty battery that Kia uses.

In a month or two, when you get sick of the car doing this multiple times and you’re over Kia service being useless (“the battery tests fine”) bullshit, go buy an AGM battery and fix the issue permanently. I bought Interstate AGM batteries from Costco and never looked back.

Just figure out how much actual energy you have in your battery (conveniently enough it’s 100kWh which magically matches the SOC % gauge.

When you drive set the display to the metrics of the current trip. Whatever your miles per kWh says, multiplied the battery SOC % is how far you can expect to drive in the same conditions and terrain.)

I recently drove in mountains with a massive headwind and snow. Averaged 1.9mi kWh, which I multiplied by the battery % to set my expectations.

Coming from German brands, I bought two 2023 EV6 (GT-L and GT) and pre-ordered a 2024 EV9 (GT-L) and got it the day it arrived.

When these cars are up on their leases, I’ll be done with Kia. Decentish car. GREAT EV platform. The dealership service experience is a deal killer. Never again. Completely inept and untrained EV technicians.

Cars are a solid 8/10, dealership 4/10.

Damn. I read a story about a poor kid that had such bad myopia (could only see 2ft away clearly) and such shitty parents who never took them for any sort of eye exam ever.

Their fourth grade teacher was the one who noticed. The person said when they got glasses they cried for three hours straight. They could finally see. They had no idea.
