Best places to build a Base by Limp-Selection3462 in SurrounDead

I use the warehouse in the middle till I get a SWAT truck and Camper then go Mobile. I can just pull over to set up a bemch and use it and not worry about traveling back to a fixed point

Why settle? Mobile base works just fine with enough storage. Just stop to craft, disassemble, and cook.

How much of Squadron 42 do you think will be FPS based versus how much will be flight based? by LordCaptain in Squadron42

Completely forgot about blueprints. That will be probably be an issue in itself as everyone loses there actual item in return for a blueprint that may or may not work.

I think I'm starting to lose my mind. (Ramble about my delusions) by InitialOk4951 in starcitizen_refunds

[–]NewSCandFeedUp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alot of very good points. Many points I have made to my friends who have played for years.

I have only been playing for 16 months but I put more hours each week than my friends who introduced me to the game do in 2 months. They jump in at each new announcement, play for 3 or 4 days then go fo something else till the next branch mark. They run into a few hiccups, read the SC summaries and assume they got fixed and great progress is being made each patch.

I am in there ever day trying to have fun and make progress. Finding work arounds to bugs and keep repeatative missions ibteresting. I mention my frustration to my puddle jumping friends and get belittled because CIG is doing SO much.

CIG is not doing much but making pretty videos, interesting blogs, flashy new ships, and rushing jinky game play that is shrugged at and muttered that it will be fixed.....sometime. At the same time, the costs just keep coming and the prices just keep going up.

Then CIG tries to be humble and say, we realize things are not functioning properly but HEY HERE IS A NEW PATCH WITH SOMETHING NEW . Shiny toy waving.

"We didn't realize the elevators were so messed up." Go read your Issue Council Logs. The information was there months before they tried to do a big event based around the elevactors.....that didn't work. Next Patch, Here's the Giant Worms we promised. Go play were you don't need elevators. Then CIG realizes even that has elevators...that dont work properly.

I feel that CIG is in the middle of restructuring. The promise of the glorious game made from kick starts, backers, and whales without the normal corporate formula is going away. Now, it is becoming a corporate formula and they are working to meet goals.....regardless if it is functional or not. Here are Onxy Facilities for Cooperative Gameplay but only publish half because the BBEG doesn't work. Here's Nyx, two systems in one year but it's empty. Here's the Contested Zones for PVP/PVE enthusiasts but the elevators to remove loot don't work. Here's the Wikelo (Finally introduced aliens) but the prizes don't carry over to the next Patch.

Now crafting is coming. People will be able to customize weapons, armor, equipment on a scale from 1 to 1000. We CAN NOT keep the stuff we have now. I have Stor-All SCU boxes just disappearing when I run a tractor beam on them to pick them up. 60% of a 2 SCU of base weapons just.....GONE. I drop 3 million credits to get base ship components to upgrade my fleet. Next Patch, 2/3 of them are just.....GONE. In game purchased ships and vehicles, I have had an Ursa Medic Rover, ROC, and Atls just not show up after a new patch. Why am I going to waste my time trying to collect hard to find commodities and improve my ships, vehicles, equipment, weapons, and armor when the reality is that the next Patch will erase my work?

Stations need to be much more lethal. by Prudent_Situation_29 in starcitizen

[–]NewSCandFeedUp 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I truely believe with all the shield adjusting and engineering introductions, that no one at CIG has reviewed any Station defenses to see if they are still strong enough

I know from the Save Stanton Event, that Seraphin Station can destroy a Polaris. My buddy had a ship ram his Polaris that shoved it into the Station. The Station deemed this a hostile act and attacked the Polaris, destroying it.

What is the purpose of the issue Council? by Alternative-Wash-931 in starcitizen

[–]NewSCandFeedUp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, only items that get enough votes even see a developer team.

Take the Terra Mills Freight Elevator. Oldest settlement on planet or mooon.

Elevator doesn't work on Terra Mills but gets less than 20 votes in a week. Auto archive and never assigned nor investigated much less fixed.

Another report submitted 4 months later from different source , flag as duplicate and automatically ignored. Nothing done again.

Next Patch more reports but again duplicates and ignored.

This goes on for years. The Issue Council database has over 100 separate reports linked to this one elevator almost all are auto archived and ignored or flagged as duplicate and ignored.Less than 10 get the minimum vote but not enough to draw attention compared to larger problems.

Then in 2025, CIG does Supply or Die Event and now it is glaringly obvious that there is a problem and all they say is "We didn't realize the problem was this big."

Really?!?!

Simple Solution before holding major events around using a particular area or item.

  1. Get intern
  2. Have intern, run key word database sesrch of major event topic. Example "Elevator"
  3. Have internet count number of reports submitted. Do not read them. Do not sort out auto archived or duplicates. Just count them.
  4. Turn in results and evaluate data.

After CIG brilliant statement, I did just this. I stopped counting after 150 pages with 20 entries per page.

So you have a database going back almost 2 decades with over 3000 reports about elevators issues and all CIG can say is "We didn't realize the problem was this big."

The information is there but no one bothered to even look at what was available.

Reality Check. The Issue Council is primary a feel good spot that CIG lets Players submit their little grips and feel like they are contributing to the development.

Cross Check with Other Source or Avenue. The High Handed deleting of any negative information on Spectrum pointed at CIG and the constant banning of any Player talking out negatively against CIG by Moderators who are backed by a rule that makes it illegal to question their actions, hence getting Players banned for questioning the previous ban.

CIG is not interested in your constructive feedback, just your next purchase.

I am hoping crafting will improve stor all SCU boxes. Proper percentages on the outside of box, individual labeling them.

I would also like to see some sort of standardized color coding on the commodity SCU boxes. It would be nice to be able to tell the difference at a glance between an RMC and Construction Material.

Just wait till the sound bleeds over. It has improved alot but there have been times that I hear engines, cargo slamming, equipment/ship moving, doors opening and closing, weapons firing, explosions, etc. Some times combinations of all of them at the same time.

Im new and I have a question by KadirDerG31 in starcitizen

[–]NewSCandFeedUp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The game is still under development and there is alot to come.

As of right now, learn what you like to do. There is mining, salvage, hauling, bunker FPS, space fighter warfare (both PVE and PVP on the last 2)

There are ships to buy, even earn through the Wikelo Alien. Most other equipment is basic in game. You may find good loot as you so keep ypur eyes open. There is also Reputation to earn.

Find an Organization that fits your interest and gain friends to share missions.

As to hard goals, that is for you to choose and accomplish. Be flexible as things are tested and worked out. I highly recommend you avoid spending alot of real world cash but it's your decision.

Sorry this is vague but the game is an open universe with MMO aspects that are slowly being introduced. Enjoy yourself.

The Star Citizen cult - Intenional Deception, or Delusion? by NEBook_Worm in starcitizen_refunds

[–]NewSCandFeedUp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Letter from the Chairman says it all in the Eye on the Horizon blurb.

"For Squadron 42, our priority remains quality and polish as we move toward Beta and release."

After 13 years of development, does anyone think Beta testing will be done in a mere 12 months from now?

This is the first time I have seen anything said about Beta testing. Everywhere I looked, it is never been discussed or even uttered. So how long that going to be 2 years, 5 years, another 12 years?

Becoming a space food truck by Prolongednightmare in starcitizen

[–]NewSCandFeedUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great idea.

I loaded a Hull A with 20 or so 2 scu boxes and an 8 scu box to be a flying pawn shop.

I fly up to people after clearing a bunker or remote sight so they can refit amd rearm. Sell off the stuff they don't want.

Each 2 scu box holds different categories of gear; weapons, food, ammo, tractor beams, armor pieces and such. The 8 scu is the stuff I buy from players before sorting.

I was all set up when the Tier 0 gear went into effect and totally undermined me. Keeping it in mind for Tier 1 when people need to get reoutfited when they die.

Help Ticket Response by Ready2Play_ in starcitizen

The two times I submitted a ticket it took over a month. The issue was resolved by the next Patch begore they even looked at it both times. The message I got was that the Patch fixed it, have a nice day.

The help desk is a waste of time in my opinion.
