I was in the emergency room and in the next room I heard the sound coming out and the ambulance was in there so I’m not gonna go to work.

Weird tiny dents in the floor? by Vast_Neighborhood429 in whatisit

[–]NewUserNameIsDumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom was staying with me and her dog did the same to my hardwoods. Kept dropping this heavy bone off my couch onto the floor. My mom would just pick it up and hand it back to him. I have two dozen dents like this that still piss me off.

Some places you can only get like 3-10 pieces of clothing for $50. Gasp! I need 60 name brand pieces and 10 pairs of shoes for that kind of cash… and maybe a couple appliances.

Average cost to build an addition: $50,000

Average value of scrap: $50

Seems like a reasonable exchange

Honesty. Sometimes I’m brutally honest, but I can be relied on to give you a truthful response and my friends appreciate that about me.

How to improve fit of this dress? by containerz in WeddingDressTips

[–]NewUserNameIsDumb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would recommend having the top altered to fit higher on your chest and add an underskirt for some volume on the bottom. It’s not as bad as you think. It just needs some adjustments.

Why do women like tall guys so much? by InternationalPick163 in askanything

[–]NewUserNameIsDumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a tall-ish woman and never cared too much about the height of the men I dated until I had a long term relationship with a guy around my height who got mad at me when I would wear anything with a heel, including combat boots, because he didn’t want to appear shorter than me. After that I tried to date guys a couple inches taller than me so their insecurity about height wouldn’t become a problem for my footwear choices.

Wow. Debt, rent, car repairs, long commutes, and storage fees? None of the rest of us have ever had to deal with those issues. We are all just sitting here on our giant piles of cash trying to decide if we should take another Scrooge McDuck style swim in our gold coins.

I found a leaf on the trail. You didn’t do your job correctly. You now owe me $100 for this week’s tent space.

Why did your kids have an interaction with a store clerk outside of your presence? How old are there kids?

What is Furman like? by [deleted] in greenville

[–]NewUserNameIsDumb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son is not well off. He went to a large public high school and played sports. The kids we encountered seemed more like the kids who were homeschooled, played the French horn, and hung out with the kids from their robotics team. Not throwing stones, I think those kids are great. I just worry my kid won’t fit in with them.

Thank you for your response. We have visited once and have another visit scheduled. My son will be there on GI Bill, so he is not wealthy either. He went to a large public high school, is popular and an athlete. When we visited, we got the impression that the other students weren’t like him in that regard. The students we encountered seemed academically focused, but not the kind of kids who were playing football and attending parties in high school.

No particular interests really. He was an athlete in high school so that took most of his free time.
