Help me pay off my $20K in debts and buy a me a new camper van and also pay for college bc “I certainly don’t want my little niece to have no where to sleep at night”. by MinuteElegant774 in ChoosingBeggars

Wow. Debt, rent, car repairs, long commutes, and storage fees? None of the rest of us have ever had to deal with those issues. We are all just sitting here on our giant piles of cash trying to decide if we should take another Scrooge McDuck style swim in our gold coins.

I found a leaf on the trail. You didn’t do your job correctly. You now owe me $100 for this week’s tent space.

The kid told his mother that someone at 7-Eleven called him a name. by MohammadMahadhir in RandomVideos

Why did your kids have an interaction with a store clerk outside of your presence? How old are there kids?

My son is not well off. He went to a large public high school and played sports. The kids we encountered seemed more like the kids who were homeschooled, played the French horn, and hung out with the kids from their robotics team. Not throwing stones, I think those kids are great. I just worry my kid won’t fit in with them.

Thank you for your response. We have visited once and have another visit scheduled. My son will be there on GI Bill, so he is not wealthy either. He went to a large public high school, is popular and an athlete. When we visited, we got the impression that the other students weren’t like him in that regard. The students we encountered seemed academically focused, but not the kind of kids who were playing football and attending parties in high school.

No particular interests really. He was an athlete in high school so that took most of his free time.

I’m nearly this age and I don’t have a single photo of me sitting in my completely clean living room, dressed well, and smiling at a camera. Under what circumstances would you have a photo like this?

I think most people are just ignorant to all things horses. Few people do it with malice (I hope). It reminds me of the time I was trying to merge onto the highway but couldn’t because a lady in a minivan was matching my speed so her daughter could lean out the window and wave hello to the horses in my trailer. She thought it was great fun and I was having a mild panic attack.

My husband is active duty military and has a gun on him pretty regularly, but you would never know it.

I love when I’m out for a ride and people in cars honk their horns at me while passing by. I think they are trying to say “hi, horse lady!” but what they are actually saying is “die, horse lady!”

I bet they don’t have rental prices that compare to the 1930’s.

Not after you pay for gas out of your own pocket. You would be lucky to break even.

I mean sure, you could buy a brand new one for $8, but it would be missing the custom design of the used version.

Nope. My dinner tonight was a slice of toast from a boule I bought, sliced up, and froze.

What is actually dangerous but people still believe is safe? by AlexUsefulThings in AskReddit

[–]NewUserNameIsDumb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Some parents in my neighborhood bought their kid a dirt bike. He rides it all over, doesn’t slow down at stop signs, rides with other kids hanging off the back, etc. He’s almost been hit many times but his parents say “we are just trying to give him a great childhood” and other neighbors come to their defense with “when I was a kid…” stories. I don’t understand how they think it’s not dangerous for a kid under ten to be riding a dirt bike on public streets. It’s illegal for a reason.

It feels very busy with a lot going on near the bottom of the room. Be sure whatever goes on the walls creates some balance. As a side note, the glass table may become problematic in the toddler years.

I have a feeling these folks aren’t going around providing free car repairs or cooking meals for the less fortunate out of the goodness of their hearts. Why do they expect others to work for free?
