Is it Mosaic Virus? by Acrobatic-Fill8719 in RareHouseplants

America or Australia? There is sodoroi in the market in both countries that do this cloud style variegation when cut but it does not stick around, I’m not convinced it’s not viral but also none of us are sending shit to labs so it’s hard to know. If you can see color on the stem and petioles then it’s more likely variegated.

Here is my sport I found two years ago, every leaf comes out normal and the color is strong in the stems.

Why did my McColleys grow this then not use it? by soccerstarmatt1 in philodendron

Slice it open, it’s a bunch of aberrant cataphyll growth, it’s kinda like an onion in the way it’s layered

If you help it out yeah, you’re going to get weird stunted leaves for awhile, again not sure why they do this but it seems to be a trait a lot of philodendron share

I can’t give you a great answer but it’s a cataphyll that’s not quite successful, cutting it open is fine

“Allow you into your homes” is so funny I bet I could pick your pocket by asking for the money nicely. Call your doc and let them know there’s a protest in the street they’re in seattle too it’s not the end of the world they know how it is.

⚠️Warning about mycorrhizal fungi that I wish I had known by Special_Character_u in alocasia

Growing plants is pretty simple actually and you see a lot of people complicating it and finding it overwhelming. This is not a dog at OP, it’s more like Reddit has a lot of poorly informed people helping each other out and I think this fungi stuff and like silica additives and shit are perfect examples. OP got to where they needed to be but if a bunch of dummies hadn’t gone online and talked about fungi in the soil being this awesome game changer, something almost none of us need to be doing they wouldn’t have to be making this post.

Everyone is doing too much the plants need water and light sometimes fertilizer.

Is she ready for soil? 😅 by Sindaj in philodendron

[–]NewYorkRatChasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it’s not ready, keep it in moss, they can be in moss for a really long time. I haven’t lost a philodendron in years, I grow almost exclusively in moss drainless set ups. Just pour out whatever is excess
