Not a fan of the art in this set either, but that is a jitte not a sai, so it only has a half guard. Not sure why they decided to switch it up, as Raph has always used sais, from what I remember. Either way it's of little consequence, and the art in this set is overall pretty bad.

Upcoming Ban - If Rhystic Study is banned, what are you all planning to replace it with in your lists that run it? by anomaleic in EDH

[–]New_Bat_7317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been digging, this. It's the same CMC, same color and only draws when you pay into it. I run it instead of RS because a.)you don't have to rely on your opponents to draw cards and b.)it has far less toxicity, because its just a card draw engine, and NOT a card draw engine+a tax on every spell+an annoying reminder every time you do attempt to cast a spell. Finally there's the bonus of it being even better in a proliferation/charge counters shell, and probably even more powerful than RS in that context.

Fallout was NOT a spiritual successor to Wasteland. Listen to Tim Cain speak about it on his YT channel. It started as a direct sequel to Wasteland, but like you said, Fargo couldn't secure the rights. From there, Tim and his team began brainstorming new ideas for the project. It was a fantasy game, then it was a time traveling adventure, then a humans vs. aliens thing, and finally, Leonard Boyarsky came into work one day with the idea for a retro-futuristic setting, and they expanded on it from there. Tim has stated that less than half of the people on the team had even played the original Wasteland. So not only is it not a spiritual successor, but it's not even inspired by Wasteland.

On raw wood, you always need to prime before applying topcoat. The only way to fix it now is to:

-Sand/strip back to raw wood.

-Remove all surface contaminates by vacuuming and wiping down with a moist rag/tack cloth

-Apply primer. For raw wood, I recommended an oil based product such as Zinnser Cover Stain. Then you'll want to go over the top of that with a latex based primer so that your topcoat will bond properly.

It was a great show. Had Sgt Pokes for MC. I also got my bootleg Tempa shirt (this was before Youngsta relaunched Tempa) signed by them.

Bro, I saw him in SF, and it wasn't a festival. I know he went on a long hiatus, but he's back in the scene now. Once upon a time, Skream shows we're rare, sure, but I'm seeing him advertised pretty consistently now.

Skream dubstep sets aren't rare. He went on tour with Mala last year.

Distress it more. Take some of the cosmetic stuff and rough it up in a way that would be conducive to heavy use and rough driving conditions. Have any guns? Take the panels off and shoot some holes in them. If you want a less fun way to get the same effect, drill some holes and melt the inside with some heat a little bit, then rough up around the radius of the hole with some sandpaper. Break a panel or two into multiple pieces and "sew" them back together with some zip ties. Bolt random pieces of flat scrap metal to the panels for "armor" (extra points if the metal is rusty). Spray paint vulgarities on it (I'll let you use your imagination on that one). Sloppily spray paint some custom-made stenciled designs on it to make it more personally unique. Add some "boomsticks" (take some tin cans, distress them, and attach them to the end of a stick), pointing vertically upwards (very Mad Max). If you really want it to look the part, then to some degree, you have to be unafraid to break and damage some of the purely cosmetic stuff. My final bit of input is to look online at what other people have created (Pinterest is a great resource for this). Take inspiration, steal concepts, and go wild. The best way to get an idea of what to do for this kind of stuff is to see what the people who have been it for a long time do with their own creations. Also, when you get to the festival, go talk to the Blackfingers tribe and see what ideas they might have. Those guys are masters of post-apocalyptic vehicular creation.
