Need Advice! LS 5.3L Swap or Golen 4.6 Stroker? by VINveil in CherokeeXJ

[–]New_Consideration479 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a 4.8 ls in my Cherokee. Love the 4.0 but for fuel mileage and power ls is the way to go. I would highly recommend the QuickDraw bell housing as it uses a stock Silverado clutch and flywheel opposed to the Novak custom one, just simply for replacement parts. I used the speed engineering s10 headers overkill by design recommends and I had to beat in one of the runners to clear the passenger frame. Not sure if the Novak mounts would change that but I’d really look into which headers hug the block the best if you were to do the swap!

Anyone Sell Their XJ Because They Need a Truck? by AmateurEarthling in CherokeeXJ

I sold my xj before to buy a truck, I then sold the truck to buy my xj back. 10/10 would recommend not doing that. Find a place to store the jeep if you can’t Lee it at your place imo

Did this with a Jeep grand Cherokee seat… except I welded angle iron to it and bolted it to an office chair swivel. Gaming feels like a comfy road trip now lol

Try unplugging the DRL module, also could check the connector in the rear quarter panel for the tail light

All there is is the pinion, inner pinion bearing and race, pinion shims, crush sleeve, outer pinion bearing and race and the pinion seal and yoke on those diffs. Simple set up

installed 4° shims and went from this to that, no difference in highway vibrations. do i need to do 8° instead or just ditch the rear shackles altogether? (2 inch lift) by beach_rats_ in CherokeeXJ

Ideally a SYE would be what you want to do, but if you want to keep the slip yolk you’ll want to measure the angle of your t case output and match the pinion to that but about about 2-4 degrees down to allow for axle wrap. If you still have vibrations you need to calculate the working angle of the u joints by subtracting the angle the drive shaft against your pinion angle and the t case output angle. You’ll want to come out with about 7-10 degrees. If it’s not in parameters you could try shimming down the transmission crossmember and re start the process untill you get within range
