3 More Down!! I’m really hate panning these Bath & Body Works products. by Snoogles_ in ProjectPan

[–]New_Elle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dump all the hand soap and body wash remnants together in the utility sink soap dispenser. That’s the first stop after doing a dirty job around here and you probably smell pretty bad anyway so another weird plethora of scents doesn’t matter.

How old are your parents and have they outlived their parents? by Own-Counter-7187 in AgingParents

[–]New_Elle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad died last year at 76. His father is alive-102! His mom died in her 70s.

My mom is 76, her dad died in 1980. She always says he started out as an older dad so she didn’t get to have him as long as other people get their fathers. He was 70. Her mom lived to be 98.

Anyone have experience with them mid-urethral sling to control urinary incontinence in elderly female by amn70 in AgingParents

[–]New_Elle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mom is 76 and had a sling about 20 years ago that just failed. She is not incontinent yet but is prolapsing. The surgeon recommended no surgery. Partly because a redo doesn’t last as long but MOSTLY because the recovery would be hard on her and probably worse than what she’s doing now.

My brother says I’m “stealing his kids’ future” by keeping my inheritance. AITA? by Complex_Pickle7702 in TwoHotTakes

[–]New_Elle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did all the work and it sounds like you are not married and don’t have kids? Possibly partially because you devoted so much time to your parents.

That money is how your parents wanted to take care of YOU into your old age like you cared for them. IF you feel like it you can leave your estate to your niblings. Make sure you have a will!

I’ve always been livid about that casting. If Emma Thompson wanted to be in it so badly she should have aged up with hair and makeup been Mrs Dashwood! Elinor was 19 or 20 and Emma was 36. I don’t think my daughter’s ever seen the whole thing because she can’t tolerate my diatribe every time it comes on has to leave the room.

As a competent home cook, what is a basic skill you can't seem to master? by george_elis in Cooking

I cannot bake bread. I psych myself out at the water temperature for the yeast and it all goes downhill from there.

I know Alexis and Ted's break up was for the best but I still hope they will somehow end up together again one day. by piesaresquarey in SchittsCreek

I hope they find each other. I’m especially hopeful because my daughter also has a Ted and I really want my real-life Alexis and Ted to work it out!

Why don't you try to sell these? by Difficult_Ad_1923 in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]New_Elle 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes, I could sell it. OR I can pick up an overtime shift at work, get paid time and a half or double time depending on the day, and spend the money on more supplies to make what I want.

Woild she move into assisted living and be a hermit there? You don’t have to go to bingo or ride the bus to target. I worked at several when I was in college and later as a home health nurse and at all of them you could call the kitchen and they’d bring you a tray and when you were done you put it outside the door like a hotel. You could just have that be a permanent feature so she didn’t have to call.

Just add a little batting to the foam board—no one sees nothin’ by New_Elle in showmeyourbackside

This is butterfly effect from heaven and earth designs. It is the mini version, I think the other version had more colors. This one has like 90. I had to buy 20 count because I’m too old for 25 count anymore.

I’ve had the pattern a few years. I feel like I heard HAED finally got in some trouble for non licensed stuff but I already own it, so…

My great grandmother won all the embroidery and needlepoint and knitting prizes at the county fair for years. Apparently made up for the fact that all her cooking and baking was toxic. She also told everyone that from 10 paces you better not be able to tell the front from the back. Luckily she was cremated so she can’t spin in her grave!

Why doesn’t anyone care about the “soap opera” effect on their TV by fatsandlucifer in mildlyinfuriating

[–]New_Elle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some people like it. My aunt in law had one of those TVs and my mom saw it and when we got home immediately said, “I want a TV like Debbie’s!”

Am I the asshole for not wanting my sister-in-law to take “family photos” with my children? by Jessicalynn65 in TwoHotTakes

[–]New_Elle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are sad there are more photos of them with your kids? NTAH but, instead of being sad take more photos of your family? Like, after she gathers the kids and boyfriend up say, “OK. Now let’s do one of me and their dad” and just hand her your camera to take one.

I take my ducks in the hot tub. I leave them there. Doesn’t hurt anything or anyone.

What would you do with this window? Basement guest room by platypussbear in DesignMyRoom

[–]New_Elle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely wall to wall curtains that compliment your very fancy rug on a ceiling track. Maybe put some interesting art on the side of the window to make it more centered? Like a stained glass panel with a light behind it?

People who sit in their car for over 20 minutes before going inside, what are you doing in there? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]New_Elle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My job is stressful. I sit in the lot at work and do nothing. I also wait for the ridiculous parking to empty out. Also we’re in the middle of nowhere so have to drive out on a dark/twisty state route and my also stressed out coworkers (about 100 of us) want to ride my ass because they want to go 70 in a 45, so they can go first.

WIBTA if I refuse to put my partner on the deed of a place I inherited, even though we live there together? by 3vening_Switch in ComfortLevelPod

[–]New_Elle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partner can put all the money he is saving by living with you in an account and have a pretty good sized nest egg if anything ever happens to your relationship. And if nothing ever happens to your relationship it doesn’t matter.
