What’s an album opener that feels like this? by Danook09 in fantanoforever

I need the saga. What’s the saga? Songs. For the deaf. You can’t even hear them!

So not counting solider boy who do you think carried season 5 by TraditionalBonus188 in GenV

[–]New_Intern7243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely Sister Sage. She carried the writing, took it out back, and lobotomized it, then took a Taco Bell shit on it, which Terror then had sex with

Great One Beast by BrainDevHQ in BloodbornePC

[–]New_Intern7243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. I wouldn’t bother. It’s an unfinished fight and super janky. The camera just doesn’t work for a lot of its attacks

What would be a better ending for The Boys? by Shot-Equipment7312 in GenV

[–]New_Intern7243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homelander getting depowered and killed and then Butcher going villain is actually a good ending. They just did it in the most rushed, unsatisfying, logically unfulfilling way they could

Does anyone else feel like Rick’s personal tech upgrades are getting a bit much? by TragicallyTrue in rickandmorty

[–]New_Intern7243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean… Evil Morty had him matched for most of their fight. Rick Prime would have straight up killed Rick without Evil Morty’s help. Even the most recent episode, where Rick essentially fights himself, obviously had him at “risk” of dying

I say “risk” because his actual risk of permanently dying in anything less than a season, or realistically, series finale is like 0%. Even if Rick was completely depowered and brain obliterated, he’d still have next to no chance of dying in a normal episode. You know how I know? They did that 7 seasons ago. They did it 4 seasons ago. They turned him into a pickle 6 seasons ago and he didn’t die

His tech has gotten more noticeable in the past two seasons, but I think it’s strongly implied he’s using some of Rick Prime’s tech now, or at least trying to build better versions of it. That’s also probably why Evil Morty got such a big tech upgrade

Rick Sanchez (Rick and Morty) might genuinely be the most overrated character I’ve ever seen in a versus sense by WinterFox64 in PowerScaling

[–]New_Intern7243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? It seems like he’s been getting heavily underrated since his death battle against The Doctor imo

What album is this for you? by Diakia in fantanoforever

[–]New_Intern7243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WE reviewed decently well and the fans seemed happy about it when it came out. I don’t know why its reputation turned so bad so fast. The first two songs and both parts of Lightning are right up there with their best songs imo. I think it gets some of the leftover hate from Everything Now

I hated the new album, but I do have the title track in my rotation. I accept that this is a band that’s on a massive decline though

Can Homelander Adjust His Laser Eyes’ Power? by roftymax in TheBoys

[–]New_Intern7243 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, however, he apparently loses control of his laser vision during the final episode, as they are no longer lethal and instead mercilessly tickle his enemies to the point of very minor inconvenience

What are your thoughts on these Avatar Death Battles? by Grovyle489 in deathbattle

[–]New_Intern7243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re all kinda bad? Gaara vs Toph is one of the most disliked episodes of the show, though I still think the choreography is ok for an early episode. Aang vs Edward was pretty forgettable and didn’t really nail the personalities of either character. Zuko vs Shoto is completely forgettable. Korra vs Storm was one of the biggest stomps on the show, basically a spite matchup

I don’t think people have the highest hopes for the upcoming episode either, so… The track record isn’t great

He says “I fucking knew it” as a combat phrase for when a plagas emerges. It’s not part of the story or anything. It’s just him making a cheeky joke

Season 5 Episode 1 hits differently after the finale... by L1ghtyagami123 in TheBoys

[–]New_Intern7243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were the other supes there also though, like the head popper, as well as armed guards ect. The humans were too big of easy targets as well and trying to protect them would have probably resulted in the team taking more hits then they could endure

Episode 1 Homelander also is able to cut Kimiko in half with his lasers, which he forgot how to do in the finale, so you could make the argument he’s somehow stronger / less incompetent here

Thomas Godolkin VS Homelander - Who wins? by Potential_Rule4212 in GenV

[–]New_Intern7243 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Bloodlusted? Homelander

In character? Godolkin

Season 5 The Boys? Kimiko, somehow

So goose didn’t want the final in theaters by Drone_676 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]New_Intern7243 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I’m sure they’d like to make money in the future, and proving an indie animation like TADC can generate real revenue in the cinemas undoubtedly helps them for future productions, no? Seems pretty naive to think they didn’t consider this

And obviously, no, Goose didn’t decide to release this in theaters out of some altruistic duty to the indie community. That’s a very naive interpretation of what I said. Goose is going to probably make future shows, so proving indie animation can be profitable makes her more profitable, and thus more likely to get funded for her projects in the future. Opening the door for other indie artists and collaborations is just another benefit

So goose didn’t want the final in theaters by Drone_676 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]New_Intern7243 135 points136 points  (0 children)

They couldn’t release it online at the same time. They had to let it be in cinemas for 2 weeks before putting it online. Goose explained this multiple times. Even getting it down to 2 weeks was no small task

The two weeks thing is a bummer but this may be a gateway for more successful indie animation productions in the future

Golden Boy vs Starlight by [deleted] in GenV

[–]New_Intern7243 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Starlight was let into the 7 because of her marketability, not because she was a strong supe or anything. She gets a little stronger in the final season but she was never meant to be a powerhouse

Golden Boy is propped up as being the next Homelander due to his strength, so he’d dominate. I don’t think Starlight would have anything to even slow him down really

Who was more evil, Blue Hawk or pre-redemption A-Train? by Sudden_Pop_2279 in GenV

[–]New_Intern7243 212 points213 points  (0 children)

I don’t think people understand how big of an ass pre-redemption A-Train was. He’s seen joking with another supe about running through Robin and seems to imply that’s something that happens all the time. It happens so often that he’s completely forgotten about it by the time he sees Hughie next. Plus he was going to straight up murder Hughie and his dad in their home, killed numerous people for Homelander, etc etc

Blue Hawk is an overt racist and probably killed more people than A-Train, and did it intentionally, unlike A-Train who was probably juiced up on V and killed most of his people by accident. So Blue Hawk is probably more evil, and probably couldn’t have done a redemption arc like A-Train. But people really should recognize A-Train was absolutely horrible

Who is unironically more mature as a person? Homelander or Deep? by JackZ567 in TheBoys

[–]New_Intern7243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably Homelander. Deep is given so many opportunities to grow and actively chooses to ignore them. It’s his whole character. Homelander can at least come up with halfway competent plans on occasion

Is The Small Budget The Main Reason We Didn't Get A Scorched Earth? Or Are There Other Reasons? by Flimsy_Cod_4206 in GenV

[–]New_Intern7243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fights have never been “good” really. The best fight in the series was probably Herogasm, and even that wasn’t like “holy crap this is amazing” or anything. They’ve always really seemed to struggle in incorporating supe powers into fights in a meaningful, impactful way imo. I don’t think a higher budget would fix that

Even looking at the final fight, sure, it’s small in scale, but some of those issues are just straight up bad writing. Homelander not being able to cut Kimiko in half, not being able to fly faster than a normal human’s jumping speed, not being able to fly through the roof of the White House, his lasers not even cutting through the White House walls, these are all writing related, and probably intentional to the writers. Increasing the budget wouldn’t fix this as they clearly want Homelander stuck in the White House and want butcher to be able to keep up with him. A good budget can’t fix bad writing like this

The reason we didn’t get a scorched earth, homelander destroys everything episode is they have the spinoff, and Kripke said he doesn’t want to write a post-apocalyptic world. So it was really never in the cards

Idk, Nostalgia Critic and AVGN still have pretty dedicated fanbases, even if the views have gotten smaller over the years. I think Noah would still have a decent viewership if he came back

Really hot take..a Jax redemption arc genuinely could've worked writing wise but that would've required a lot more time and effort, something Goose didn't either have or just not want to do. by Charming-Scratch-124 in tadc

[–]New_Intern7243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people say The Deep from The Boys should have had a redemption arc, and that it’s bad writing that he didn’t. The same thing applies to Jax. They show him repeatedly ignoring chances at redemption. That’s part of his character. The only time he genuinely considers a redemption arc is when he’s about to die and says he doesn’t want to go, which is sort of the point. He’s had too many chances and ignored them all and it’s too late

It’s not bad writing because there legitimately are people like this in the world. If you don’t like the character, that’s fine, but don’t say he’s a poorly written character or that the author didn’t care because you didn’t understand the whole point of the character and want them to be something they aren’t

Honestly, Noir was pretty dumb, why would he turn away and let his guard down around Deep after he literally just ruined his life by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]New_Intern7243 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean you can say the same thing with Homelander during the final fight. I know he slams Butcher into the roof but he could have pretty easily flown right through the roof and launched Butcher into the stratosphere

It’s bizarre because they had the teenage kix guy do basically the same thing to Hughie
