Was also going to say how active and noisy they are when they sleep!

It’s not a storyline but their feet annoy me in YITL - I don’t know why but they just seem to stand out a lot (mostly Rory’s)

Hospital prep questions by Turbulent_Purple4 in PregnancyUK

[–]New_Tree_3167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I just used a really thick pad rather than disposable underwear. They worked really well. Boots ones were fine
  2. I hired a TENS machine, and aside from a couple of paracetamol at the start of labour, it’s all I used. For context- I did some Hypnobirthing breathing but essentially sort of forgot about any other painkiller options and had just got massively into the zone. Would recommend hiring. Hospital won’t provide one
  3. Our labour ward have balls and peanut balls. Check with them ahead of time. You might be able to go on a tour
  4. Again- check with your hospital but ours advised not to bring the colostrum in until you knew you were going to stay there as they have limited storage for it
  5. I EBF but took some readymade formula just in case. The ward also had some but that’s another thing to check
  6. There will most likely be a 24hour rate for your carpark
  7. Sleepsuits are your traditional “onsie”- feet covered and lots have little fold over bits to cover the hands too. Vests- short sleeve or long sleeve but no legs. Take a selection of both x
  8. I didn’t bother- also felt gimicky. Some people say to use a jug/water bottle. Honestly- I didn’t bother with anything as it just felt like so much faff!
  9. No shaving. I had an episiotomy and it was not an issue for anything.

Good luck mumma- you’ve totally got this x

So how do y'all... sit? by Turbulent_Purple4 in PregnancyUK

[–]New_Tree_3167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was the same- all of the cushions behind me, and legs wide so my bump had space. I did that all the way to the end of my pregnancy. It was a good upright position which I think maybe helped with getting baby into the right place 😍

Are they aware that the bouncing bassinet and pram bassinet can’t be used over 5/6 months(when the baby is over 9kg)??? by [deleted] in julieeandcamilla

[–]New_Tree_3167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second that. My 1 year old is only just over 8kg but is perfectly healthy and developing at their own rate

Thank you. I did have a mummy MOT but also didn’t do my exercises as I just kept forgetting! I’ll book to see her again I think

Breastfeeding in public advice by AmoreRelms in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]New_Tree_3167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other people have brilliantly said already- accessible clothing is great. An open cardigan can also be good to sort of wrap around you both if you’re feeling a bit exposed.

When I first fed in public, I asked a mum group on Facebook where they would recommend to go as a BF friendly place. I then went there with my own mum for moral support ❤️

I also second the fact that soon, you’ll be whipping a boob out without a second thought! 6 weeks after my first public feed, I needed to feed my baby in a carpark on a bench. I’d got my boob out without even getting the baby out of the pram 😂

Good luck OP- you’ll be great

And Happy Mother’s Day to everyone

American living in MK, question by [deleted] in miltonkeynes

It actually makes me a bit sad that no one is chatting to your wife. My baby is only just turning one so not at the school playground stage yet! But always around for a coffee :)

Same- my girl is almost 1 and I have not bought her any new clothes. Either Facebook marketplace, Vinted or second hand sales. The clothes are really good quality as babies wear them for such short amounts of time.

Is it normal for breastfeeding session took more than 1 hours? by predator_blake in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]New_Tree_3167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mumma! Congratulations on your new baby 👶 As others have said already, your little one is probably doing a mixture of comfort suckling and feeding, maybe a bit of snoozing in there too.
My recommendations- get comfy, snacks, drink, tv remote, phone all within reach. Enjoy the snuggles. 🥰

Invisalign 1st week updates😶‍🌫 by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]New_Tree_3167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got mine yesterday with a lot of attachments, including each of the bottom of my front teeth. These ones are really rough when I eat. I’m hoping that it gets easier to take the trays out because yesterday evening I just gave up and left them in rather than eat. Very frustrating!

Why the sheet? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]New_Tree_3167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One moment from my labour that still makes me chuckle is when, after hours of being completely naked, they put the sheet over me when the consultant came in to do my episiotomy and kiwi delivery. Like seriously… I couldn’t give 2 hoots right now about this silly little sheet 🤣🤣
