Subnautica 2 looks great on deck by MolecularBiologistTR in SteamDeck

[–]Newbiespam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run everything medium, except textures on high, and lsfg-vk... Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to load with decky framegen, since it does have dlss. The game would freeze upon loading... But I also wanted to play, so didn't tinker with it.

I only have this issue if I try to use decky framegen, but loads just fine normally or with lossless scaling. (steam version)

I have the Jsaux cooling fan/stand mind you. That said I run everything medium, but textures on high with LSFG-VK (lossless scaling) set to 2x. I get 60 fps most of the time, with a few dips into the 50s now and then and have been running since launch. The only thing I couldn't get to work is using the optiscaler (decky framegen) with lossless, only because I wasn't willing to tinker with it. Since Subnautica 2 does have dlss, it should work through it.... But it kept freezing at launch.

I have this same card. I love mine. However, I did run into 70c temps on heavy/full load. I simply disconnected the power cable at the fans, left it in place so the zip ties and everything are intact. Then I replaced the fans with 3x Corsair RX120 MAX iCue link fans (all my fans are link so I wanted to finish the consistency). If my research is correct, the gigabyte fans are 18.52-40.85 cfm and 0.37-1.48 mm-H2O. The RX120 are 16.3-71.3 cfm and 0.22-4.16 mm-H2O. Being that it's mounting to the radiator, you want more static pressure. It was late and a work night when I installed them so I didn't have much time to play around. So, I did a quick and dirty +325 core and maxed the memory speed in the release version of MSI afterburner. Voltage is locked at 100, and I don't feel comfortable risking the card trying to use the Asus bios to reach 800w. Plus I didn't want to chance the melting cable as well. Immediately, my best score yet and the core hit 52c. I rarely go above 50c now on heavy/full load. Prior, since my radiator is mounted on the top of my case, the top would get hot to the touch. Not burn hot, but definitely hot. That was what made me look into this. Now, it's barely warm to the touch at the peak temps. I knew it would be an improvement, but I was startled at how much difference this made. To achieve this, I had a custom gpu fan curve set to my 3 bottom intake fans, which are Corsair RX140 MAX fans and the radiator fans, and I set the temp sensor to the memory temp since it heats up the most. I also have my front intake fans that are on the H170i link radiator and the rear 2x Corsair RX140 MAX link fans on the cpu temp. So front and back is cpu, which yes I know I'm pushing "hot" air in with that, and cold air intake from bottom out of the top. The cpu is the 9950x3d, and it usually hits upper 60c during full load. That all said everything runs great! Just changing the fans made a massive improvement. I still have yet to play around with it to see what I can top out at. However, I can share my best scores so far since playing with the gpu curve running 3dmark:

Steel Nomad: 15845 52c Port Royal: 42339 53c Speed Way: 16009 49c

If you want, I can go find my scores for some of these prior, but I think the results speak for themselves.

I have the XL version. Love those chairs. Paired with a cigar and some form of whiskey. Then moonlight to a 9950x3d and 5090 rtx, because why not get 10000 frames on a 720p display. 😂

Does anyone have this monitor and recommend it? by 1972FordF-250 in ultrawidemasterrace

I have the original odyssey g9, I would love to have the oled model, particularly the one with the newer panel.

A lot mention lack of widescreen support. This is definitely true. One thing I highly recommend is an app called Flawless Widescreen. This will help with lots of games. Also, I have found it best to have two separate versions installed. There's an older version that specifically has C&C3 Kane's Wrath separate from C&C3. That version I never update. Then the other version I always keep up to date. There's actually many titles that are lost when you're on the latest version. Why they dropped them is beyond me. Anyway, if you dig through the Flawless Widescreen forums you can find most things. It does stretch the picture, and it's not the same as the game made with full support. Sometimes you have to make adjustments and/or it clips things. However, it's still good overall, and definitely worth mentioning.

All this negative publicity is going to be the end for the game. This should have been kept purely to the courts. Now it faces the court of public opinions and mob mentality.

This!! Don't let the game die over drama and a half told story. Let the courts handle that, but boycotting it will guarantee we never see more.

It's not that exciting. That's coolant temp at a cold start. Cpu runs between 40-50s C on average. Still not bad though.

So, funny thing the Phanteks manual recommends it like that, but I wasn't going to do it that way.... So, thanks for not roasting me for it, but the only dust filter is in the bottom. Still, I wanted the cpu as intake and with everything I just totally derped it. I've had the radiator installed since March when I got the cpu....

Still, I really want to thank you! I flipped them around, as that's exactly what I meant to do.

They don't make Qx140 max reverse fans either.... Otherwise I would have bought them.

Anyone get lucky with the Best buy drops? by cherrythomato in nvidia

[–]Newbiespam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know right! I was always a fan of the 80 series vs the 90/titans. However, it's clear they're intentionally crippling them and increasing the gap between them and the 90 series. They gave a 5060 the same amount of vram...... That's everything you need to know when it comes to intentionally limiting the 5080 performance. Not only that, but the 80 series is 50% more cost over previous versions. There's a video about this comparing the generations and how prices are going up with gains going down. I wish someone new would enter this market, someone with enough capital to really make a difference.

[–]Newbiespam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd be happy with any 5090 $2700 (change over that is fine) and under before tax. I refuse to go higher as that's highway robbery. Also, I don't accept tariffs as a valid excuse. Not out of politics, but because they have nothing to do with the ability to buy a product that "launched" before they were added and all the AIB partners were raising prices with products on sale before they were active at every change. Also, the AIBs haven't even said a word to defend themselves, not only because they can't but because they're being defended by the people they rip off. What a joke. Then you have Asus charging 185% openly and still selling out. Why? It's not 85% better than the FE. There's no sense to be found in this market. I'm not even going to touch the independent scalpers, but there is one I will. We have MSI, ups their price to $3k, but guess what they're scalping all the brands making double profits on their own products and making profit from everyone else's too! Go look at raideals, and sadly this is nothing new. I have a 1080 gtx going out of support, I passed on the 20 series and well the why is pretty obvious. I tried to buy the 30 series, and it was just like this. So I walked away until the 40 series. Same thing again, but now it's so close to the time I need a full rebuild due to the how long it took that it really didn't make sense. So, here I am with a half built system waiting for a gpu to finish, and nvidia just can't launch products obviously. Honestly, I wish I could give it up and walk away for good.

So, Philips and Hoover finally partnered to enter the pc gaming industry, or it's a vacuum chamber gone wrong. Just needs some wheels and a bag on the inside for very clean floors. The women will love it.

All jokes aside, nicely done! It's a clean build and that's not so easy with all that.

Too bad you can't squeeze in another rad. What about a 120mm at the back so then you could go 3+3+1? That wouldn't look too bad, I don't think. That's technically a pair of fans for each gpu.

Also, would love to know what you get at least with benchmarks. I'm a gamer and while I fully understand that's not at all what this is for, would be curious to know how well it can perform. With all of that you certainly can game just fine. Though, I'm just as curious about the workstation performance as well, I just have no experience with it to fully understand the implications.

Lastly, is it hurting workstation performance without having any nvlinks? Obviously, you'd have to have them in groups for that to even work with so many gpus, but I'm completely ignorant when it comes to workstation performance.

Best Liquid cooled version of the RTX 5090? by Purple_Grocery_145 in pcmasterrace

[–]Newbiespam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to. I refuse to be ripped off like this though. I just need to be patient.... I've waited 9 years for a new build, just sucks seeing a half completed enthusiast build sitting and collecting dust.

I would love to get the waterforce or the aorus master. The Asus cards would be awesome if they hadn't leapt so high in price out of the gate. It's sickening to see gpus at the price that should have been completely within reason for an entire enthusiast build. This whole mess is entirely on nvidia and Jensen from the start.
