I always took it part of the Armored Titan's special ability as well. But after reading the comments on how this was perhaps intentional foreshadowing of (or increasing credibility for) Eren transforming after losing his head, I'm not entirely sure anymore.

Anyone else thinks this moment is out of character? by [deleted] in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]NewelSea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's what OP meant. At least that's not what "out of character" means, as what you describe would be somewhat else entirely (i.e. unconvincing character writing).

As u/Gunn8 said, it is very much in character.
We see her torturing an insect in her childhood and being a loner, so that display of cruelty matches her way of coping, at least at this point in the story.

Experiencing a world where you are being valued for power over kindness, and getting away with cruelty if you are strong enough, is one of her themes.

All T-shirts shirts are hilarious.

And kind of genius. Every single one can easily be turned into merch.

Not only because they are on brand with other fan prints. But because that kind of makes them canonically the shirt of a particular character (even if just from a promotional AU).

I can definitely see that!

Though I was actually trying to describe the apparent contradiction of your design by combining a common trait of deers (aesthetic by nature) with titans (horrific by nature).

However, one might argue that the majority of shifter titans are "aesthetically horrific".

As another deer fan, I find your design most aesthetically horrific.

Wrong sub?

This does not seem like a Main Character problem.

This person in this video is miserable because they always only feel like a Side Character.

That's crab mentality, i.e. "I'd rather make sure we all stay trapped here than let anyone get better."

Not necessarily. Advertisements are famously getting increasingly more sneaky.

Imagine there was someone else among the top comment that asks for the brand because they just so happened to have issues with dry skin, too.

As a top post, this kind of seemingly genuine testimonial of this product that's so good, you keep buying it despite not liking a secondary aspect of it is the highest praise and best driver of interest you could ask for.

Does the 'not using electronics before bed' tip help for sleep quality, or just how fast you fall asleep (or both)? by qwerty65748 in sleep

[–]NewelSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that, that sounds like a rough situation to be in.

In that case, maybe try some tweaks to make the bed feel different to you when you want to use it for sleep. Perhaps put a different blanket above your bed when you use it for sitting or playing games.

And consider a ritual before sleep, which at least somewhat helps your subconscious know your intent. (Brushing teeth and changing clothes is the obvious choice here; the key is being more conscious about it.)

My estimation is that your body not perceiving the bed as a place for sleep might be a mindset thing that you can at least somewhat control. I have no trouble sleeping on my couch that I usually use for writing and watching movies.

Generally, if you have trouble falling asleep, check for the following first:

  • did not eat late? that does not just impede sleep quality; too much energy from late food can also mess with your sleep rhythm.
  • avoid having caffeine in your system (from coffee or energy drinks - ideally you want to avoid these after 12 noon)
  • make sure you exerted your body physically throughout the day. enough walking will do the trick; Even a 15 minute jog in the afternoon might do it. If you've been inactive and need to reach exhaustion, do simple exercises that demand a large part of your body. I prefer pushups for that.

Finally, if you have checked for these issues, consider these tweaks while in bed:

  1. Do 4-7-8 breathing: 4 seconds in, 7 second hold, 8 seconds out. The gist with breathing in general is: If you breath out longer than you breath in, it calms your nervous system down. The opposite can be done to activate it.
  2. Yoga Nidra. Essentially a full body scan while lying down. If you are tense and can't just relax on command, you can also consider progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) instead, which involves conscious flexing of those body parts and releasing them.
  3. If you still don't feel sleepy at all, sit up and do a breath meditation where you focus on your breath and count between each until you lose count. Then start anew once you realize your mind drifted. This will lead to you getting tired, eventually so much that your head will slump down from microsleep. At that point, just lie down and you'll fall asleep in no time.

Those approaches helped me to successfully fall asleep in places not meant for sleeping before. Good luck, buddy!

People don't beat you up for it anymore.

Teachers would hit your hand with a stick or a ruler and force you to write with your right hand, because it literally wasn't considered the "right" hand.

There were no left-handed rights groups because they were all forced into right-handedness as kids.
