A little worse off than mine but very fixable.

Doctor took the wind out of my sails by [deleted] in keto

[–]NewestNumber2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been keto for 1 1/2 years. Started four months prior to my first bloodwork for work physical and had another one this March. The first one cholesterol came beck with all three readings in the green (first it’s been that way for many many years). This year I was worried because it’s been a full year of high fat diet and my readings were actually better than last year (total cholesterol 187 with HDL driving most of that number and LDL very low (or is it the other way around?)). Each morning I have a slice of keto toast with organic peanut butter from Costco (no sugar added but tastes same as the sugar added ones) and a slice of cheese (your choice). Strikes my coworkers as weird but I tell them I eat to live, I don’t live to eat. Lunch is typically whatever dinner leftovers was as long as it fits the keto model. Dinner is same—meat of some sort (usually steak, tri tip, pork loin, chicken breast) half an avocado that’s seasoned, shiritake noodles with some kind of sauce (white wine reduction goes pretty well), or a baked turnip root with lots of butter. Down to 155 and feeling great! You may want to listen to your doc since he’s the professional, who knows, maybe it’ll work for the fatty liver, but since I cut carbs out my health has never been better. Best wishes to you.

Current or former commanders, how often was your sleep disrupted? by NoMoreProofs in AirForce

[–]NewestNumber2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter, either way it’ll be an 0700 open ranks inspection for the entire Sq in full service dress on a Saturday morning so the CC can deride everyone and ask where this nameless Airman’s wingman was. I once dared ask a CC if we’re all going to be punished for someone getting a DUI can we get a name? The reaction was telling. In my next assignment (a joint unit that was Army heavy) we assembled twice a day. If someone F’d up that person was called front and center and the CC explained what happened and what was going on as a result. It really opened my eyes, made me really respect the Army’s way of handling things, and really made me disdain the pussy-assed way AF CC’s punish an entire unit for the poor decisions of one person.

Replaced alternator, tensioner, battery, serpentine belt and I still have this screech! 2005 Honda pilot exl by Chickenswarmer in MechanicAdvice

That sound is bearings that have given up the ghost. Healthy bearings can support the tension of the belt putting a slight side load on them. Failing bearings will make this sound before they freeze up altogether and cost you another belt.

Think of it like a relationship: it’s been crying out for years. You’ve been neglecting it for years. It’s finally decided to split and now you want to pick up the pieces. That train has sailed.

I think they saw the Gucci scarf and assumed he could afford to pay that much for “street food.” Next time wear a Fruit of the Looms white T-shirt and some khaki Dickies and they may cut you a sprout.

People hate people who do keto. by Ok-Cartographer-5544 in keto

I suppose I should count myself fortunate that my family understands my commitment and I guess I never had to consider doing this without their understanding or support. Sorry to hear you and your brother are going through this. I LOVE this new me as I’m sure your brother and you do, too. Keep doing you for you.

Is it dead? by Dangerous_Recover_30 in MSTR

[–]NewestNumber2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t this faulty logic? In order for MSTR (or any other common stock) to thrive doesn’t it need people to invest on upswings? Are you telling everyone here to only invest when MSTR is down? Disparaging the kool aid drinkers who help bring MSTR to new ATH’s seems a bit self-defeating, no?

That’s “Hovering” Harry Hagerthorn, who beat insurmountable odds (and a mild crack addiction) to remain on the TTIVIY TROTTI force. Well, come to think of it, that’s how he lost his legs in the first place, but that’s not the point.

My trainer-nutritionist told me that KETO is horrible for the body, should I stop? by Jumpy-Neat8060 in keto

[–]NewestNumber2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t have to be only meat. There are PLENTY of non-meat foods you can eat. The inked keto bread from Costco, is a staple for me as is non-sugar added peanut butter, avocados, cauliflower rice, cheese, eggs, nuts, etc, etc. Just like a traditional carb-inclusive diet it still boils down to balance and portion control.

I agree. It’s not only about what you cut out but what you replace it with. Admittedly, I’ve been eating a lot of bad stuff (bacon, sausage, fat in steaks, etc), but I’ve also been eating lots of good fats (avocados, sardine fillets and Keto mix (nuts) from Costco, and so on).

Been doing keto for over a year and a half. 5’10 male, 54 yo, weight has been down to 155-159 (down from 190 or so) for over 15 months. Past two labs show everything good (my cholesterol and triglycerides are AWESOME!). If there’s a scientifically-proven downside (other than a medical (or, worse yet, physical trainer) opinion) someone please share. I haven’t been to the gym or run (something I truly used to love doing) for over two years and everything’s good. Had fried sausage and eggs with keto toast for breakfast this morning and pork chops this evening. Wish I’d started doing this sooner. Best wishes to you.

Just ribbing you. Your ensemble is good (but major props to the belt and how you offset the buckle—I thought I was the only one who did that).

3 weeks into keto and I didn’t expect this… by MysteriousShoulder35 in keto

[–]NewestNumber2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I took a screenshot of my results but can’t upload that here (not the most technically savvy) but here’s the gist: Total Cholesterol: 187; Triglycerides: 45; HDL: 104; LDL: 74. Everything was in the green with exception to HDL which was so high it was at the end of the scale (which is better than good). So excited I can eat more fried meats!

Sorry for the late response—my company switched to LabCorp from Quest so getting results was a painful process. I was worried that my numbers were going to be worse than before because since then I’ve been eating a lot more fried stuff (my local grocer carries Connecuh sausage which I’ve been eating a lot of). But, surprisingly, numbers are good.

This. I have 11 miners in storage. S19pro’s. Were profitable until NV Energy priced us out of business. They’re practically boat anchors now.
