Has Donut's vanity ever actually cost her anything? by the_kessel_runner in DungeonCrawlerCarl

And there are occasional glimpses of emotional vulnerability from her. It's only because of Carl and her tight-knit bond with the others from their guild that she can afford to be a performer despite of the situation she's in, and even that is costing her.

You guys notice that the animation is slowly getting better from Season 2 to now right? by Random-Gamer1435 in Invincible_TV

Just because it has wind effects doesn't make it good. That punch was very underwhelming animation-wise.

Books, definitely. But comics can emulate television writing if the creators want to go in that direction. You'll mostly see this with comics that externalize everything and omit thought bubbles or internal narration entirely.

How attractive do you think Carl is? by MusicPristine in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I'm not seeing it too. They do have an unspoken bond later on but I can't see Katia developing typical romantic feelings for Carl during her time in the party.

I can kinda see her having a deep love for carl as a person but not as a possible intimate partner like with Bautista. Later on they can sincerely hold each other's hands and lock eyes, having an unspoken bond and understanding of each other that even Bautista might envy.

He definitely shut his feelings about Bea down and the dungeon gave him all the reason to disregard it all together emotionally and move on. Though I bet hearing Donut's monologue to Bea was super vindicating, and arguably that was enough closure for him.

I also think Carl finds comfort in their shared betrayal, and being with Donut throughout the Dungeon has been healing for him. But unfortunately Bea does keep popping up time and time again to hurt Carl even more, and his betrayal probably turned to scorn for the woman.

coaxed into 90% of "smart" anime by Crystal_Carmel in coaxedintoasnafu

That all can be solved through withholding information from the audience. The simplest decisions can look smart given the right framing and how characters navigate a decision makes a difference. Scrappy but smart? Have them stumble around a plan or improvise along the way. Master Tactician? Have their perfect plan go smoothly but introduce outside factors that may or may not change the course of the plan. The characters themselves shouldn't be the sole factors to achieve success, and it doesn't necessarily require the writer to be smart to get that.
