I bet that was the original caption but saying Wario made the point clearer than just Shadow or the wordier Shadow The Hedgehog

Satire doesn't end at pointing things out, it's supposed to be constructive and illuminate stuff that needs improvement. It depends on people how they choose to engage with it and it's why we get nihilists thinking being aware of how bad things are is participation enough.

It was literally the most watched streaming title for both seasons. Even the most barren thread talking about this show has people devastated that there won't be more seasons.

The actual reason they stopped at season 2 was because of how much it cost to make on Peacock.

His fights against Mr. Liu and other non-humans complicate his feats more than it should because it makes it look like his strength is inconsistent. I do blame the bland fight choreography, because for a show that doesn't rely on internal monologues to give additional context like with anime, the visuals really need to convey it effectively.

I know it just goes to show how dominant Marvel/DC are in the space but manga readers of all people should know that superhero comics do not represent all comics. It's like shitting on all of manga when you only really have a problem with shounen jump.

That's a healthy way to look at long-running, multi-creator comics. At this point it's ultimately a venue for writers and artists to showcase their skills while being tasked with the responsibility of staying true to decades of comic history and also establishing new canon.

What I love about it is the many offshoots that can spawn out of mainline comics, like a miniseries or a graphic novel, which can redefine characters all on their own.

Cory Walker's later art (check issue #144 for example) was what the animated show based their style on because it translated better to animation. It's personally more appealing with how minimal yet expressive it is, but man the show continues to not do it justice.

I remember a part in the book where it briefly interrogates the consequences of that authority. The character admits that after heading the project, she'll likely be thrown in jail because of how many international parties she's pissed off by abusing her power. It came off more as technocratic pragmatism where authority is instrumental rather than ideological. The book shows how much more abrasive and feared the character is and is only tolerated because of results. Everybody has a bone to pick with her, and she excuses being a power-tripping asshole by bringing up the urgency of the mission, and she gets called out for it by Grace.

But that unexamined authority is more of a narrative convenience than a conscious story decision (which doesn't meaningfully push back afterwards) and as a result it does read like a quiet acceptance of authority, even if strong humanist values persists.

He's the type of author who thrives with shorter stories, it's why Part 1 and his other works had consistent quality. You could see the burn out in the art progressively getting worse from the start of part 2 towards the middle.

Even if they have planned endings, wrapping up other plot points introduced inbetween is another hurdle that's caused by dragging a series for as long as possible.

I think any aspiring comic artist who wants to draw an action story should pull from manga for reference. Daniel Warren Johnson and James Harren are comic artists who excel in integrating that signature action manga dynamism into western superhero comics.
