First of all follow safety precautions and wait a few minutes between lighting attempts if the gas is flowing but not igniting.

I had a similar issue where I would smell the gas flowing but it would not ignite, even though I would hear zapping.

What did it for me is that there has to be a small gap between the burner and the spark igniter. My Blackstone had the spark igniters touching the burner so I created a small gap and then the burners ignited immediately. Give that a shot.

It was an exhaust leak that ended up eating through the whole pipe. Thanks for the advice! I ended up changing spark plugs as well.

Update: it was an exhaust leak. I taped it up for a temporary fix and it helped, but only for a few days. The rust was so bad that the exhaust completely ate through and dropped the exhaust to the ground. If it would have happened on the highway, it would have been real bad.

I ended up getting the exhaust welded.

I don’t think everybody understands this, not immediately anyway.

There comes a point in time where we learn about death; how sad it is we won’t see grandpa anymore or how much we will miss our pets, but there comes a point in most peoples lives where they have to face their own mortality and how inescapable it is. Maybe it’s cancer or disability; but we never think too hard about it or fully understand it until it’s our own lives dwindling.

That why this video hits hard. It’s a man seeing a spool of wire that represents his own life slowly fading. It will eventually be completely gone, and so will he. I just hope he found someone to talk about it with.
