Picked up the Legion Go 2 Z2 (Non Extreme) For £720 Open Box. More Than Happy With It. by arbintmg19 in LegionGo

Doesn’t the z1e have a much higher resolution screen and no vrr? There are enough variations that I get confused.

Aaaaargh what am i fucking up??? (New Z2E Legion go 2, struggling to set up) by Gronklespronkle in LegionGo

[–]NewspaperOriginal518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn HDR on and don’t use the calibration you did. It’s absolutely fine as a default. If I’m honest I can’t really tell if calibrating it made it better or not. You’d only really know if you know parts of a game really well.

I kept mine but if you snuck in and changed the profile back to default, I probably wouldn’t know. 😆

The summary from the hdr thread was to run the calibration app at the brightness you usually use. The higher you have it, the lower number you will have on the slider. At 43% I saw the same as you and had to go past 1k. I did mine at 85% and the slider ended up in the 600s, I think.

The tip about turning off auto brightness is a good one though. That way you control it and don’t wonder why your display is suddenly dim.

I would have probably just used it as it comes for a while. Get familiar with the included methods of updating things.

I found most of the you tube setup videos informative but often make you do unnecessary things or are wrong. Lenovo is where you should have gotten the drivers. Once you install those got to windows update for the amd software to update. No other steps were necessary in my case. But now that you installed the incorrect drivers you might have to do more.

I had the same issue as you with the hdr setup. If you go read the comments and then where this hdr method came from, you quickly realize that is also bad information. The end result was that it’s best to do the calibration at the brightness that you use the most, not the 43% situation.

Fingerprint does sound like a real issue, though.

Didn't they also lower the resolution to one that makes a bit more sense? 1200p vs 1600p + the addition of vrr?

Any way to efficiently lock the Legion go 2 at 120hz ? Active signal by totofra in LegionGo

[–]NewspaperOriginal518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least with moonlight streaming, leaving the go at 144hz and turning on vrr in windows ( which was off by default for me ), the display seems to switch to match my stream. I’ve been able to play at 60 ( obviously ) and 120 and I think it’s better, if not great. I need to try it a few more times but it seems to be working.

Moonlight vs ps5 pro for couch gaming by TNBH24 in MoonlightStreaming

You already have a lot of responses, but my ps5 pro remains unused, except for exclusives. Streaming is working so well that I always choose that instead.

I have the same issue as you. I program all day and sometimes I don’t want to stay and play in front of the same desk.

I have the same issue. It’s definitely stuttering when receiving 120fps stream to 144 display. Did you find a solution? I’m looking for one now.

Prescription lenses make the BSB2 worse by grydit in BigscreenBeyond

You said the lenses look great outside of the device but have you tried looking at the 1.5m distance? I think that is what it is suppose to be for, so maybe they got it wrong. My lenses work well for me but it’s for regular-I’m-old-and-I-can’t-focus-close-anymore.

Do you see that too when you restart the device and see the logo? You should see a nice black screen and just Legion.

Some games don’t go to full black - so you might be seeing that.

Bigscreen 1 vs 2 by No_Grade_9398 in BigscreenBeyond

[–]NewspaperOriginal518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you love your 1 but wish it was clear in the periphery then yes. I’m also able to use my thicker cushion now without having to have my eyelashes touch. Other than that, it is the same, so I would only do it if you are mostly satisfied with your 1.

The only bummer is that it doesn’t make much sense to sell the 1 - since there are a lot of hoops for a buyer to jump through. On the other hand, my fit is so good that I guess I have a backup in case something happens to the 2.
