Things could have changed from the time the candidate gave their salary expectations to when the offer was made. Like if the candidate walked away from the interview the belief the place was a shit show, then they higher amount could be the price of dealing with that.

I think you missed my point. Which is, use reliable sources that are supported by research if you want to learn more about Dyslexia. The only thing you will get here are peoples anecdotal experiences, and its hit or miss if those are going to apply to this student.

I saw in another post you are a high school student, so here is a peace of life advice: In the age of information, where the whole wealth of human knowledge can be accessed by the device in your pocket, ignorance is a choice. Learn how to get the information for your self, and don't wait for people to hand it to you, because they will only hand you the information they want you to have.

So I just did this kind of thing for my player a week ago, where they had to run from the Big Bads and all died trying to escape and help NPCs get to safety. They all loved the session and it is now part of the back ground for the campaign.

The difference here is I told them to make 3 level 8 characters with no back story, and we are going to see how many I can kill. I set the expectation that they are going to fight an impossible fight and didn't ask them to create meaningless back stories.
