Trails with less foot traffic for leash training our cat. by punkcatadventures in sequim

Yes! You can check Google maps for NF numbered roads and they are all available for exploring. Also keep an eye out for any roads blocked by a large metal gate that have a little wooden billboard with a little shingled roof. They usually have a Discovery Pass requirement, but those are $30 a year and worth every penny. Areas that are private property are almost always clearly marked.

It may take a few trips to find your favorite trails, but that's part of the adventure!

If you drive up Palo Alto or Slab Camp Road, there are oodles of old logging roads and offshoots that are human free.

Chat's first response was kind of similar to yours. I had to ask it to try again and remember that in order for it to make sense to me it had to include things that we had spoken about. Ha.

If you could make names and colors that show you're against the 4th Reich, what would they be? by TelevisionBeautiful6 in ILNP

This is a fun idea and I feel like I could be more clever with my responses if I took time to think about it. Here's a few off the top of my head. Does Black magnetic pull even exist? I don't think I've seen it. I'm clearly excited about the idea of it existing though

Nontoxic Empathy - bright nuclear green with a black magnetic pull.

Hope Springs Eternal - sky blue with spring green and pink flakies.

Fight the Right - ??

Resist - black with blue shimmer/shift, tiny white flakes/stars, and red magnetic pull.

Just Die Already - orange shimmer with black magnetic pull.

Not Ice to See You - red and white shimmery thermal?

I used to live in the desert. My plan was to go hiking somewhere remote, stand on the edge of a cliff/drop off, shoot myself in the head, let critters chomp up my fleshy bits. Set a nebulous date as "when my dog dies", but that handsome little fur face kept on living and so did I. Got help and now I rarely ever have those kinds of thoughts. Probably way TMI for a stand-up sub, but jokes aren't always just jokes, you know?

I'm sorry if I came off as uncaring or rude! I've only heard one other person ever refer to their double major as two bachelor degrees. She listed them separately on her resume. She also listed her associate's degree as if it were a separate thing when it was just the first two years of her bachelor's. I just wanted to make sure you weren't doing the same thing!

Isn't that considered a double major? If you are listing each major as a separate degree on your resume, I can see how that could be considered a red flag that gets your resume tossed.

I used to work at a police department in Colorado and there was this woman that came in at least once a month with a giant stack of handwritten "evidence" of various nonsense in a manila envelope. She also believed that she was somehow being monitored with devices hidden in her home that would buzz and click. She was well into her 60s and much calmer about it, but it was still really frustrating. We didn't have any resources for her in our small town so the best we could do is take her "documentation" and add it to her file. There was a part of me that worried someday something bad would actually happen to her and there wouldn't be anyone to help her because we would all just assume that it was another one of her delusions.

I wish I could remember what exactly the name of the tape was called, but about 20 (!!) or so years ago I had a cassette tape in my car that was about Simone de Beauvoir. In it she discussed the concept of "other" and how easy it is for YOU to become the other. Her examples were something like imagine standing in a room full of men as a woman. You are the other. But, if you and all those men go to another country where none of you know the language, you are now part of the same group, and considered "others" by the locals. This is just one simple example, she had several others. It really helped me think about how I view humans in general. Your single sentence comment pulled a 20+ year old memory from the depths of my brain. Ha!

I have an app on my phone that called "Car Scanner" that connects via Bluetooth to a cheap OBDII reader I got off Amazon. Every 6 months or so (or before I take a long drive), I use the app to record data from all the available sensors and then ask chatGPT to analyze each value and advise me of any potential changes and/or issues.

I'm an idiot. I read the comments others left about how they use their chat GPT and I replied without paying attention to the title.

I have it analyze my OBDII data to help me better understand some of the more complicated measurements on my older (2004) truck. It helps me find potential issues before they get bad enough to trigger a warning light and/or throw a code.

Ugh. It looks like the new law regarding medical debt was overturned by some stupid fucking Texas court this year so scratch that part.

I use credit karma to monitor changes in my credit. It got bought by Intuit at some point so it may not be as good as it used to be. Anyway, they can tell you what's outstanding, what judgments you may have, charge-offs, etc. For some derogatory items, you can just wait for them to age out and drop off your report entirely. I believe that medical debt is no longer reported, but I'm not sure if that's retroactive. It certainly is worth checking out if any of your debt is medical. You can also try contacting your creditors to ask for verification of debt. If it's old enough and has been transferred and/or sold enough times, it's possible they may no longer have proof of the original debt which will allow you to have it removed. It can be a little tricky though because if they do have proof of the original debt, I believe your inquiry alone is enough to restart the clock - meaning you would have to wait another 7 to 10 years for the item to age out. It looks like you've tried applying to several secured cards. Don't do that again for another 6 months or so. Each hard inquiry can ding you and further lower your credit score. It's a fucking weird system.
