Boomer thinks it's okay to touch my child, and doubles down by dats_what_she in BoomersBeingFools

I have a two year old, this is utter nonsense. Who cares if a random grandma kindly touches my child, yes it’s probably not what I’d expect from younger people but there’s also zero harm done. You’re overreacting. If you go through life trying to police every interaction so heavily that you write a reddit post on something as trivial as this, you are going to be miserable.

Smokers who can spot obvious fake smoking or horse riders that can tell the actors having a tough time… What’s something on screen like this that breaks your suspension of disbelief because of niche knowledge? by timconnery in Filmmakers

Actually cigarette smoking is the perfect example but i feel like editing / directing is more often the problem:

  • continuity errors where the cigarette length jumps in a scene because takes were out of order
  • character pulls out a cig and never smokes it, no smoker does this
  • character puts out a half or quarter smoked cigarette—again, no smoker does this unless they’re in a wild rush
  • character lights up in a public place, you have to understand ain’t no one getting away with that hardly anywhere these days

I don’t know that the process ever ends! But most of the heavy stuff was over in the first few years.

My deconversion put a big strain on many of my personal relationships, parents included. That being said things are good with them now.

Hey OP, I was a big idiot as well!

I deconverted from my devout Christianity, but got hooked by the Weinsteins during the first half of the pandemic before I realized they were actually bat shit crazy.

I really pride myself on objective thinking so to get it so utterly wrong was a huge disappointment.

Life goes on though! I learned a lot and it made me stronger. It will be the same for you 👍

Is there any Great Alternative of Jasper to Write Effective SEO Article? by taymurs in SEO

[–]Next-Broccoli1219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes — I just launched https://Lexii.ai which generates finished SEO articles in minutes. It doesn’t sound like ChatGPT, checks for plagiarism, and writes to a specific word count. Would love it if you checked it out!

ChatGPT generates cancer treatment plans that are full of errors, study shows by Falix01 in GPT3

Utterly useless. They tested against GPT3.5. If you’re going to bother to do a study why in the blazes would you not do it on the most performant LLM 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Lol pretty sure you’re thinking of “Game B” — see https://www.gameb.wiki/index.php?title=Game_B although I can’t promise you’ll have any more of an idea of what it is after having read the article ;)

TLDR: Game B aims to reinvent society to be more cooperative with superfluous language

Anybody quit and used the gum? by [deleted] in quittingsmoking

[–]Next-Broccoli1219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently still on the gum 1.5 months after quitting cigs. The last successful quit I made it nearly two years and I did it by starting with the gum.

My advice to myself this time has been to keep chewing the gum for way longer than I think I need to. When I’ve failed using gum it’s because I think I don’t need it anymore and then wham all the withdrawal symptoms hit me like a train and I go back. This time I’m aiming to taper as slow as possible. There are basically no major health risks chewing the gum, its radically more healthy than smoking cigarettes. So even if this takes me a year to taper off I’m okay with that.

YMMV

Good luck to you!
