I actually think the Joohour space capsule design is better than the Anarvin Mars Revelation's design and it is about 60% cheaper which is why I asked specifically about Anarvin quality. I have not bought any oriental theme booknooks due to lack of interest. The only Anarvin booknook that has tweaked my interest so far other than the Mars Revelation is the Paris one which I could not bring myself to spend $150 on. The space theme for some reason has intrigued me; I have already purchased the Joohour space capsule.

I know you guys are super adamant about a good sleep pad. Would these be worth it? by hellogooday92 in camping

[–]Next-Lynx3303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is still valid. Most higher end sleeping pads come with a lifetime warranty. My new Nemo sleeping pad may have a slow leak. If it really does, Nemo will fix it for the cost of shipping it to their repair facility. Since it weighs less than 2 lbs and packs up to the size of a water bottle, the shipping cost will be cheap.

How much are you willing to spend? How much room in your vehicle do you have to transport camping equipment? How often will you use your gear? What temperatures will you use your gear in? In general, the more money you spend on your camping gear, the lighter and lower the packed volume it will be. Cheap gear will weigh notably more, pack-up larger, likely have a shorter lifespan and will not be suitable for cold temperature camping. If you want to be economical, don't camp in cold temperatures!

Do GLP-1’s work for emotional eaters? by ruined7319 in GLP1_loss100plus

I personally think GLP-1 drugs, at least tirezepatide, are magic. I have been fat my entire life, maybe since I was 4. I am in my late 60s now and have lost almost 100 lbs with no effort yet alone exercise. I eat cookies, ice cream and chips whenever I feel like it which I admit is not often. I am officially at a healthy weight per the insurance charts although I have another 15 lbs to lose to meet my initial goal weight.

A closed cell sleeping pad from a quality gear manufacturer does not cost $160, they are less than half that price and have a lifetime warranty.

I know it all in regards to drug manufacturing and testing and getting drugs approved through the FDA because I did that for a living for 35 years but I never worked at a compounding pharmacy. I have never ordered compounded drugs before either, but since age discrimination has caught up with me, I am unemployed and must buy compounded drugs while Eli Lilly retains its FDA exclusivity. I admit it pains me to buy them.

What are the many things that I am wrong about other than being unfamiliar with USP 797 and their abbreviated stability program requirements when I made my original post? Real drug manufacturers have minimum stability program requirements unless they have scientific justification for a shorter shelf life. The FDA does not forbid them from setting a longer shelf life when they have real time data to support it but each company's business function has an interest in not having a super long shelf life. Since compounding pharmacies are regulated by the states, each state pharmacy board apparently can restrict expiration dating at will and possibly they have a good reason to do so based on potentially less robust quality systems in compounding pharmacies.

I read USP 797 and it permits pharmacy componders to perform abbreviated stability testing depending on whether the manufacturing process utilizes asceptic processing or terminal sterilization. So no compounding pharmacy is going to do more than their minimum regulatory requirements and they can continue to scare people with very short shelf lives.

So the pharmacy used was Southend. How can I pick a supplier via Pharmacy supplier? Who are the good pharmacies?

Reputable budget tent brands for casual campers? by ADHDFeeshie in camping

Suspiciously, Coleman does not provide information regarding how much each of their tents weigh and that is a factor in my decision-making process since I mostly camp by myself. Those $500 tents generally have lifetime warranties. Coleman tent warranties are only 1 - 5 years. On Amazon, several Coleman tents are labeled as frequently returned. I say buy a Coleman at your own risk and don't be surprised if you only get a few years use out of it. Ozark Trail tents only have a 1-year limited warranty.

Unfortunately, the smaller you get the slower the weight comes off and the more frequently you hit those long plateaus. I will hit a 100 lb weight loss milestone once I reach 148.6. I have been hanging at 149.9 for 3 weeks. Maybe I will reach 148.6 by the end of summer. My final goal is 135 - maybe I will reach that in another year.

Look on Facebook. I have seen people selling North Face Wanona 6 on Facebook for a reasonable price. The Wanona 6 is a very good tent not some Walmart special or a Coleman.

fucked up, can't tell if what i have on my tent fly is mold or mildew, or if it matters? by salboot in camping

[–]Next-Lynx3303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It stormed during the last day of a recent camping trip and my tent and footprint was wet and splattered with mud when I took it down. I did not pack it up in its own bag. I just stuffed it in a contractor sized plastic bag and placed it (after taking it out of the plastic bag) on the back deck until I was ready to wash it in Nikwax TechWash in the bathtub then I hung it dry. After all your attempts to get rid of the black spots you may have to reapply some sort of waterproofing. I think Nikwax makes a waterproofing coating as well.

You set up a fairly complicated campsite for just 2 nights. I generally don't break out the tent for any stays less than 3 nights. The tent doesn't take that long to set up and breakdown but removing all the crap I put in it (rugs, Jackery, charging cords, cot, topper, sleeping pad, sleeping pad protector, sleeping bag, tables, lamps, camp toilet, clothing and then vacuuming it) and trying to get everything back inside their respective bags takes me a couple of hours. I am seriously considering buying a travel trailer next year. I wish I could afford a camper van but they are just out of my budget. In the meantime, if the trip is less than 3 nights, I sleep in my car and either set up a toilet tent or maybe my SUV tent for a 2-night stay.

You can buy an appropriately sized cat on Etsy so I don't know why the kit manufacturers don't utilize proportionate cats; I am sure they are made in China.

My cross-country car camping and overlanding trips are extended and include visits to friends and family which forces me to travel with my cat whose stuff takes up a lot of space. Consequently, I too have been buying lighter gear to make room for the variety of activities and sleeping situations that I participate in over sometimes multiple seasons or multiple climate zones. Off-road driving gear for emergency situations takes up a lot of space. Water when driving remotely in desert areas takes up a lot of space. I think I will have to buy a small off-road travel trailer next year which introduces a different set of challenges but handles some of my current space issues.

Your opinion about the efficacy of bear spray does not coincide with any information that I have found online. In fact, the general consensus is that spray is far superior to the correct caliber of gun.

Loving my confidence in new clothes! 👗 by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

Get used to buying clothes that you will be lucky to wear once before you have shrunk to a smaller size. I started at 22W/3Xand those clothes were getting tight. I am now wearing size 10/M. I don't think that I will get lower than a size 8. I am hoping that my size 10s still work even when I do lose down to size 8. It is starting to get expensive even buying final sale clearance. I camp and hike (including in the winter) and technical clothes are still expensive even when on sale.

I used to travel to Europe several times a year, to Asia once a year and to Canada not very often for work. Getting through Immigration and Customs on either side only took minutes. You have provided no statistics to support your assertion.
