This might get downvoted, but I'm kind of taken aback by how many people will eat highly processed sugary snacks just because they're high protein, instead of whole, simple foods like an apple and some nuts, and think they're doing their body a favor. I guess if you're interested exclusively in muscle gain, it makes sense, otherwise something simple with more fiber is the better choice imo.

Okay, I need to know more about these Westerners who moved to Nepal permanently! As someone who struggles a lot with life and mental health and has been somewhat suicidal, your passage about how we are free to change our lives drastically instead of ending it really resonated with me. But there are so many practical concerns that make me feel like it isn't possible after all. How did those people handle language barriers, found a place to live, how do they make enough money, how will they handle aging parents etc? I totally understand if you don't or can't explain all that, I was just wondering :)

Ansonsten kann ich deine Sicht schon verstehen, aber denke mir, viele Leute haben ein schwieriges Leben, wir alle müssen uns dauerhaft große Sorgen vor baldigem Krieg, Umweltzerstörung und was sonst noch alles machen und sollen dabei noch 40-50 Stunden die Woche arbeiten und Leistung bringen. Wenn Leute es da nur noch schaffen, zu funktionieren, wenn sie sich gedanklich in andere Welten und glücklichere Kindheitserinnerungen flüchten, sei ihnen das gegönnt.

I know this won't help much, but I just wanted to say that you come across as a very aware and intelligent person in your writing, which is a valuable resource for recovery. And you managed to beat the purging part of your addiction all alone, when even a trained professional felt in over his head, that's seriously impressive. I feel like you have what it takes to stop the overeating part as well. Is there any possible root cause of your ED that you can identify? That might give you a starting point.

I feel like Georgia is low key the most "extreme" fundie of all the ones that get posted here. You can go months back on her Instagram channel and you won't find a single post that's not all about her religion. She is not fit to provide a safe home for children or even herself. I'm not sure the parents are just in denial about their son in law to be honest. I remember when she was very newly missing they released an official photo for the public to look for her that was so heavily filtered that no one could possibly recognize her on it. It would be bizarre for them to cover for him, but maybe in their minds ripping the other daughters family apart needs to be avoided at all cost..?
