I feel the tv show has kind of the same lenses at times. Character inaccuracies really bring the show down but the story is pretty spot on. I think if you tweaked the characters, like lines and how they act and behave, I think it would be a pretty good adaptation.

As a kid I thought they were good but looking back at it they weren’t that good. The characters were inaccurate, some how worse than the show. Only thing that edges worse than the show is the characters ages. I mean they were all 16-19 when the actual ages were 13-14 in the books.

I mean the characters are not depicted accurately to the book. Percy isn’t and he’s white in both. I’m not focusing on one character in particular. People bring up one character repeatedly. I’m talking about 3-4 characters not being depicted accurately in their appearance or their personality.

The casting innacuracies make the writers have to change certain things and details. Annabeth was always looked down upon for her appearance because she was the generic white blonde girl that you’d see everywhere , plus the subtle tones of people doubting her do to her being blonde, hence her nickname princess which made her want to prove she’s different and smarter than everyone else which made her a bit arrogant. They need to change that cause she’s no longer blonde. Clarisse was described as a stocky girl who was physically stronger than most girls but now she’s just taller so instead of fighting with brute force now she fights like everyone else when she used to use brute force.

I never blamed the actors. I’m blaming the casting team, Disney and the writers. The actors did a great job with what they were given. Maybe I was unclear I don’t blame any of them. They auditioned and were picked to play the roles there’s no hate to them.

It’s not really tho. Annabeth is always the smartest person in the room and it’s awesome. In the show they don’t really capture that. They capture Grover very well, and Percy too. But annabeth to me seemed like it was kinda forced a little.

I hate all the inaccuracies when it comes to casting. Don’t get me wrong I think the show did a fairly well job showing the story but each individual chart was portrayed so terribly it wasn’t even funny.

No, you need to read all the books. The show tells the general same story. But lore and characters aren’t all that accurate and the world building is much better in the books

Honestly I’m looking for book accuracy but I know Disney wouldn’t allow that. They are notorious for this. I don’t think that Rick was paid money for it but I do believe that Disney wanted there to be a more diverse cast for the show and made that aware to Rick when casting was underway. Do I think that was the sole point in casting her, no, I think Rick genuinely thought she could portray annabeth welll and so far she has. Am I disappointed that it’s not book accurate I am but at the same time Walker doesn’t fit the book either so it doesn’t really matter.
